Beforestartingtheinstallation,makesurethatyouhaveeverythingyouneedathand.

ForallHFL2839modelsyoucanusetheguestremoteandthekeysequence3,1,9,7,5,3,MUTEtoaccesstheHotel
Mode.ThekeysequencewillnotworkifHighSecurityModeisenabled.
ToentertheHotelTVmenuusingthemasterremotecontrol(22AV8573):
•PresstheRC5Setupkey;
•PresstheHome/Menukey;
Note:
TheHome/Menukeyonthemasterremotecontrol(22AV8573)willactivateonlythehotelmenu,navigationinthis
menumustbedonewiththeguestremote(22AV1407A).
ExitHotelTVMenu
LeavingtheHotelTVMenuaftermakingtherequiredsettings,canbedoneusingthemasterRemoteControl
(22AV8573)orwiththeTVincludedstandardRemoteControl.

2. FindoutthestateoftheTV
ItisimportanttoknowifaTVisin‘firsttimeinstallation’(outofthebox)orinstalledbefore.
Ifyoucanseethisscreenbelow,youknowthattheTVisin‘virginmode’andyoucaninstalltheset.Seechapter4of
thismanual.
Ifyoupoweronthesetandthenpressthe‘Home’buttonontheguestremote,youwillseethisscreenappear,ifthe
TValreadyhasbeeninstalledorthewizardwasalreadyskipped.

Toaccessthesetupmenuyoushouldpressthe‘RC5SETUP’keyandthenpressthe‘Home/Menu’buttonifyouare
usingthe22AV8573.
ToaccesstheHotelTVmenuusingtheguestremoteyouneedtoinputthekeysequence3,1,9,7,5,3,MUTE.
Youcanusetheguestremotetoselectwiththeupordownarrowbuttonsandchangevalueswiththeleftorright
arrowbuttons.SettheHotelTVModetoOFF.
Press“MENU”or“Return”buttontoexitthismenu.
Note:SettingHotelmodetoOFFwilldisableallfeaturesfromtheMenu.

3. Re‐installTV
Ifyouwanttostartaninstallationfromscratchyoucanalwaysre‐installtheTV.FirststepistosettheHotelMode
toOFFandexitusingtheMENUorReturnbuttonontheguestremote.
Note:Itisnotrequiredtouseasavebutton,onceyouexitthemenu,youwillsavethesettingsfromtheHotelTVMenu
PresstheMENUbuttonontheguestremotetoaccessthefullmenuoftheTV.Thefollowingmenushouldbe
displayed.Selecttheoption“InstallandRetune”(highlightedbelow)
Press“OK”toaccessthesubmenu.
Selectthelastoptionavailable“Firsttimeinstallation”andpress“OK”.TheTVasksforconfirmationbyshowingthe
followingscreen:

Ifyouaresurethatyouwanttore‐installtheTV,select“Yes”andpressOK.
TVwillrebootitselfandshowthe“virginstate”screenswithawelcomemessage.
Note:AllsettingswillberesettodefaultvaluesexceptHotelmenuvalues.Thosevalueswillremainthesame.ToresettheHotel
TVmenuusetheResettoDefaultValuesoptionpresentinthatmenu.

4. Installationwizard
WhenyouturnontheTVforthefirsttime,oryouhavereinstalledtheTV,youshouldseethefollowingscreen.The
installationwizard,fromwhomthisscreenisapart,willguideyouthroughallthemenusforabasicTVinstallation.
Pleaseselectyourlanguageandpress“OK”tostarttheinstallationoftheTVset.
Thefirststepistoselectthecountry,whichwillenablecountrycableproviders,timesettingandchannellistpresets.
Thenextstepistoselectthe“TeletextLanguage”,eg.west,east,cyrillic,etc.
“ScanEncryptedChannels”canbechosenbetweenONandOFF.
FurtherstepistoselectwhichkindofTVchannelsearchyouwanttoperform:
- DigitalCable:TVwillsearchonlyforDVB‐Cchannels
- DigitalAerial:TVwillsearchonlyforDVB‐Tchannels
- AnalogueTVonly:TheTVwillsearchonlyforanaloguechannels
DigitalAerialInstallation
IfyouselecttheDigitalAERIALoptionintheSearchTypescreen,theTVsetwillsearchfordigitalterrestrialTV(DVB‐
T)broadcasts.
NOTE:Youcanpressthe“MENU”buttontocancel.
Afteralltheavailablestationsarestored,theChannelListwillbedisplayedonthescreen.Ifyouliketosortthe
channelsaccordingtotheLCN(*),pleaseselect“Yes”andthenpressOK.

Pressthe“MENU”buttontoquitthechannellistandwatchTV.
(*)LCNistheLogicalChannelNumbersystemthatorganizesavailablebroadcastsinaccordancewitharecognizablechannelsequence(if
available).
DigitalCableInstallation
IfyouwanttoinstallDVB‐Cchannels,selectthe“DigitalCABLE”optionandpressthe“OK”buttonontheremote
controltocontinue.Tocontinue,pleaseselect“YES”andpress“OK”.Tocanceltheoperation,select“NO”andpress
“OK”.
Analogueinstallation
UsingthisoptionTVwillsearchforallavailableanalogueTVchannelsandinstallthemintoasinglelist.
ByusingPart1“Selectfavoritenetworktype”ofthescreenaboveitispossibletouseasinglesearchofnetwork
typesonly,with:DigitalCableorDigitalAerialorAnalogue.
ByusingPart2“SelectBroadcastType”ofthescreenaboveitispossibletouseacombinationofdifferentchannel
search:DigitalCableand/orDigitalAerialand/orAnalogue.
Note:OnthebottompartofthescreentheTVwilldisplaywhichbuttonscanhelpyoutonavigateandchangethe
options.
Onceyouhavesetupthechannelsearch,youcanpress“OK”togotonextstepoftheinstallation.
Ifyoudonotwanttoinstallanykindofchannels,youcanleavethesettingsto“OFF”/“NONE”

Alwaysselectthe“HomeMode”andpressOKtocontinue.“Storemode”willdisplaybannerswithcommercials
whilerunning.
Dependingoncountryyoumightneedtofollowanadditionalstep,settingupapincode.Thispincodewillbeused
forblockingTVchannelsandsettings.
Insomecasesduethecountryregulations,youhavetoprovideapincodeformedfromfourdigits.Thispincodewill
berequiredincaseyouwanttomodifythesettingsoftheTV.SelectedPINcodecannotbe0000.EnteraPINcode
andconfirmitbyenteringitoncemore.PresstheOKbuttontocontinue.IfthetwoPINcodesmatch,yourPINcode
willbeset.
IflateronyoucannotrememberyourPINcodeyoucanusePin4725.
WARNING:
WhenyouarerequiredtoenteraPINcodeforanymenuoperation,youshouldusethePINthatyouhavepreviously
definedduringthefirsttimeinstallation.
Press“OK”tocontinuetothenextscreen,whichwillaskifyouwanttostartanautomaticchannelscan.
Select“Yes”andpress“OK”tocontinue.Select“No”ifyoudonotwanttoinstallanychannels.

Onlyavailablewhileusingselectionof“FirstTimeInstallation”
Youcanselectfrequencyrangesfromthisscreen.Forhighlightinglines,usethe“▼“or“▲”buttons.Youcanenter
thefrequencyrangemanuallybyusingthenumericbuttonsontheremotecontrol.SettheStartandStopFrequency
asdesiredbyusingthenumericbuttonsontheremotecontrol.Afterthisoperation,youcansettheSearchStepas
8000KHzor1000KHz.
Ifyouselect1000KHzthesearchwilltakelonger,sincetheTVneedstocheckmorefrequencies.Dependingonyour
Countryselectioninthefirsttimeinstallation,a250KHzsearchstepoptionmightbeavailableontheNetwork
ChannelScanscreen.Notethatifyouperformthesearchwith250KHzoption,thesearchprocesscouldtakelonger.
Press“OK”tostarttheinstallationprocess.Duringthisprogressthebarwillfillandfoundchannelswillbeaddedto
thelist.
Note:IfoptionDigitalAerial&DigitalCableoptionisselected(onlyduring“FirstTimeInstallation”),whenDVB‐T
channelsearchiscomplete,youneedtodefinethestartfrequency,endfrequencyandstepforDVB‐Cchannels.Ifyou
don’tknowthosevalues,usethedefaultonesandpress“OK”tostartthesearch.
Whentheautomaticchannelinstallationiscomplete,asimilarsummarylikethebelowpictureappears.

Hereyoucanmove,editorlockchannels.Theinformationbardisplayedonthebottompartofthescreenwillguide
youthroughtheoptionsthatyoucanuse.
Nowyoucanpress“MENU”toexittheinstallationpageoryoucanpressthe“OK”buttontowatchTV.Pressingthe
MENUbuttonwillbringtheMENUwithalloptionsactive.
5. Picture
Note:thismenumightnotbeavailabledependingonthesettingsintheHotelModemenu.
Accessingthepicturesubmenuwillbringthefollowingmenuonthescreen:

Theoptionwhichcanbeset:
- Mode:Canbesettooneoftheseoptions:Cinema,Game,Sport,DynamicandNatural.
- Contrast:Setsthedifferencebetweenthebrightestanddarkestofthescreen.
- Brightness:Setsthebrightnessvalueforthescreen.
- Sharpness:Setsthesharpnessvaluefortheobjectsdisplayedonthescreen.
- Color:Setsthecolorvalue,adjustingthecolors.
- EnergySaving:Canbesettooneoftheseoptions:Off,Custom,Auto,Maximum,MediumandMinimum.
- Backlight:Thissettingcontrolsthebacklightlevelanditcanbesetinarangeof0to100(dependingonthe
settingoftheMODE.BacklightfunctionwillbeinactiveifMODEissettoCinema,SportandNatural.
BacklightcannotbeactivatedinVGA,MediaBrowsermodeorwhilethepicturemodeissettoEco.
- Advancedsettings:Press“OK”andyouwillaccesstheadvancedoptionsforthePicturemenu.
- Reset:Thisoptionwillresetallvaluesforthepicturesettingtodefault.
PressingtheReturnbuttonwillreturnyoutothemainmenu.PressingtheMENUbuttonwillexityoufromthe
MENU.
6. Sound
Note:thismenumightnotbeavailabledependingonthesettingsintheHotelModemenu.
Thesoundoptionsareavailablefromthemainmenu:

Selectandpress“OK”toaccessthesubmenu:
Theoptionsavailableare:
- Volume:Adjuststhevolumelevel.
- Equalizer:Intheequalizermenu,thepresetcanbechangedtoMusic,Movie,Speech,Flat,ClassicandUser.
Pressthe“MENU”buttontoreturntothepreviousmenu.Theequalizermenusettingscanbechanged
manuallyonlywhentheEqualizerModeisin“User”mode.
- Balance:Thissettingisusedforemphasizingleftorrightspeakerbalance.
- Headphone:Setsheadphonevolume.
- SoundMode:YoucanselectMono,Stereo,DualIorDualIImode,onlyiftheselectedchannelsupportsthat
mode.
- AVL:AutomaticVolumeLimiting(AVL)functionsetsthesoundtoobtainfixedoutputlevelbetween
programs(Forinstance,volumelevelsofadvertisementstendtobelouderthanprograms).
- Headphone/Lineout:Selectstohavevariableorconstantleveloutputontheheadphoneoutput.IfLineout
isselectedthentheheadphonevolumewillnotbecontrollable
- DynamicBass:DynamicBass:Press“◄“or“►”buttontosetDynamicBassasonoroff.
- Surroundsound:SurroundsoundmodecanbechangedasOnorOff.
- DigitalOut:Setsdigitaloutaudiotype.
PressingtheReturnbuttonyouwillreturntothemainmenu.PressingtheMENUbuttonyouwillexitfromthe
MENU.

Thesubmenucanbeaccessbypressing“OK”whenthismenuishighlighted.
Theoptionsavailableare:
- TheConditionalAccess:Controlsconditionalaccessmoduleswhenavailable.
- Language:Configureslanguagesettings(‐maychangedependingonthecountryselected)Preferredand
currentsettingswillbeavailable.
- Parental:ConfiguresparentalsettingsincludingPINcode,Menulock,MaturityLockandChildLock.
- Timers:Setstimersforselectedprograms./SetssleeptimertoturnofftheTVafteracertaintime.Setsalso
thewakeupalarm
- Date/Time:Setsdateandtime.
Note:*TheTVtakesthetimeinfoviathebroadcast.CorrecttimewillbeavailableonDate/TimeSettings,ifthetimeinfois
providedinthebroadcast.IftheTVisinnochannelmode,Date/Timesettingscanbechanged.However,ifthereisachannelpreset,
only“TimeSettingsMode”canbechangedandifthisissettoManual,TimeZonewillbeenabled.
*IftheTVisswitchedtostandbymodeandswitchedonlaterandthereisnobroadcastavailable,timeinformationwillnot
beupdated.Ifthereisapresentbroadcast;however,timeinformationwillbetakenviathebroadcast.Inotherwords,time
informationwillbeavailableaccordingtothesepriorities:TheTVfirstlooksforthetimeinfointhebroadcast,thentotheuser
preference,andlastlytotheteletexttimeinformation.IntheProfessionalmenu,onecanalsoselectachanneltosynchronizethe
timefortheWakeuptime

Storemode:Bannerswithadvertisementswillbedisplayed

PowerUpMode: DefinesthebehavioroftheTVincaseof
