1. Use a network cable to connect the device and the router;
2. Insert the power adapter into the power strip and the device respectively;
3. Wait for the power indicator on the front of the device to turn into a green light flashing status;
4. Turn on WIFI on your phone and make sure that the phone and the device are in the same network.

Bind the Device
Both IOS and Android users can scan the following QR code to download and install the Amethystum
Family Cloud App.
Step 1 Download the Amethystum Family Cloud App
1. Bind the device to administrator
-The user that first binds to the device is the device administrator and only one administrator is
allowed for each device.
2. Open Amethystum Family Cloud App, click [Binding Now] (you can view the detailed tutorial in
the APP), there are two binding methods;
Method 1: Scan the QR code pasted on the device bottom.

Register Amethystum Family Cloud account and log in.
If you already have downloaded and logged in Amethystum Family Cloud APP, please go to Step
3 directly.
Step 2 Register and log in Amethystum Family Cloud
Step 3 Bind the device (You can log in to the APP and click [Bind device] → [View binding
tutorial] to read the tutorial for binding)

Or IOS users may go to App Store and search “Photoegg” to
download and install it, while Android users may go to Google play
store, search “Photoegg” to download and install it, and register an
account following the instructions.

1. The device administrator logs in to the APP. Click to enter the [My] page. Click [User management]
→ [Add] to generate an invitation QR code;
3. Wait for the device to connect and bind successfully.

Method 2: Select the network search binding and use the correct device ID (which can be found on
the label of the packaging box or the device bottom);

2. The device administrator sends the invitation QR code to the user to be invited;
3. The invited user downloads the Amethystum Family Cloud APP and registers an account, clicks
[Bind device] and scans the invitation QR code to complete the binding.

Cautions

1. Convenience, safety performance and other related issues have been taken into full consider-
ation in the design and use of the product. Any incorrect operation may result in device failure
and damage. Please carefully read this product manual as well as the detailed manual, notices
and FAQs in the App.
2. Please use the designated power adaptor for this product only. Do not use a power adaptor of
any other specification.
3. To ensure normal use of the product, please do not disassemble or repair the product by
yourself. The USB device are connected with the motherboard of the device during their reading
and writing. Disconnection during the process will result in failure of reading and backing up and
even cause damage to the product and its components.
4. Please keep the product upright on a stable surface. Do not place it upside down or horizontally
or under any other objects.
5. Please keep the product in a dry place. Any moisture like rainwater may cause corrosion to the
electronic circuit.
6. Please do not use the product in a dusty or dirty place, as dust may result in product failure.
7. Please keep the product in a cool place, as high temperature shortens the life of electronic
devices and results in deformation or melting of some plastic components.
8. Please do not use or store the product in extreme cold. Otherwise, the frost will turn into
moisture under room temperature and damage the circuit board.
9. Please cut the power supply and turn off the product in thunderstorm or during voltage
instability to prevent damage to the product.
10. Do not drop, knock or shake the product to avoid damage.
11. Please do not use chemical solvents to clean the product. Use soft cotton fabrics dipped with
clean water or neutral soap and gently wipe the external shell.
12. The operating temperature of the product is 0~40℃ and relative humidity is 15%~80%. To
avoid damage to the product, please make sure the operating environment meets the require-
ments.
13. In terms of hard drive and disc capacity, due to different calculation standards as well as
system, database, mirroring, metadata occupation and other factors, the actual capacity available
to the user is usually lower than the nominal value, which is considered as normal. The capacity
of a 1TB hard drive will show as 917GB on the computer after formatting, and the actual capacity
available to the user is approximately 870GB after deducting system occupation. The capacity of a
2TB hard drive will show as 1833GB on the computer after formatting, and the actual capacity
available to the user is approximately 1780GB after deducting system occupation.
14. Please take note of the following when using the Blu-ray drive burning/backup function:
a. To ensure normal use of the product, please do not disassemble or repair the product by
yourself. Make sure the Blu-ray drive and the USB device are connected with the motherboard of
the device during their reading and writing. Disconnection during the process will result in failure
of burning, reading and backing up and even cause damage to the product and its components.
b. Please wear the designated gloves or finger cots before touching Blu-ray drive. Do not directly
touch the side of disc for burning
c. Please keep the disc clean. Any stain, damage, dust, dirt or scratch will damage the data and
result in reading failure.
d. Please store a burned disc in sealed and dust free conditions.
e. Disc reading and writing is a process of high-speed rotation. To ensure stability during the
process, please do not paste any label on the disc surface. To mark a disc, use a marker to gently
write down the serial number on the non-burning face and dry it in a ventilated place.
f. During the process of reading and writing the optical disc, please keep the base of the optical
drive in a horizontal state, any move, beat, shake or bump the base of the optical drive may cause
the damage to the optical drive.

Warranty
Scope of Warranty
Scope beyond the Warranty
Product is covered under 1-year standard warranty from date of purchase. The delivery receipt
and the invoice should be properly kept as valid proof. In the event of any inconsistency between
the following terms and national policies, the latter shall prevail.
1. In accordance with the warranty policy, you are entitled to the following warranty services by
providing the valid invoice and the valid warranty proof in the event of product performance
failure.The product is attached with one-year warranty services. The consumer is entitled to such
services in the event of product performance failure in the warranty validity.
2. The user must provide the valid purchase proof, invoice, and valid warranty proof to exercise
the rights of return and replacement within the warranty validity.
3. Within the warranty validity, the user is entitled to replacement or repair and warranty services
in the event of performance failure of the main device, its components and Blu-ray drive.
4. You may have the product replaced or repaired at any warranty service outlet authorized by the
Company in the country.
5. All parts, components and accessories replaced within the warranty validity shall be owned by
the Company.
6. The Company does not bear the warranty liabilities for other accessories of the product (such
as the product manual, warranty card, network cable, etc.).
The warranty service applies only to damage caused by the product quality provided that the
product is used normally. In the event of any damage caused by other problems than the product
quality, the warranty service shall not apply. However, paid repair services can be provided:
1. The warranty has expired.
2. The product has been repaired, modified or dismantled or has used non-dedicated accessories
without our authorization, which has caused damage;
3. The product has been damaged due to improper operations such as misuse, abuse, collision,
negligence and liquid seeping, accidents or force majeure;
4. The product label, anti-counterfeit mark or warranty proof has been torn or altered;

The Company adhered to the principle of “customer oriented”. To fully safeguard your rights and
interests, please take note of the following:
1. Please do make digital and physical backups for all your important contents and data stored in
the product, because such contents and data may be lost or damaged during the use, mainte-
nance and battery replacement of the product. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither
the Company nor any of its license holders shall bear liabilities in any circumstance where there is
loss of data or income, or any special, accidental, incidental or consequential losses, regardless of
what has caused such losses.
2. Please bring the valid warranty proof and the original invoice for repair. (The warranty proof
and the invoice must be filled up in completeness by the seller affixed with the official seal and
without alteration. Otherwise, they shall be deemed as invalid). No tearing of the product name-
plate, device ID or QR code label on the device is allowed. Otherwise, the warranty shall be
invalid.
3. The Company will not provide free repair services for failure caused by other reasons than the
product quality (such as water infiltration, dampness, physical damage, improper use, etc.), or for
damage caused by unauthorized repair, or for any device with expired warranty.
4. For failure caused by other reasons than the product quality (such as water infiltration, damp-
ness, physical damage, unauthorized alteration, improper use, etc.), some other problems may
arise after processing, such as failure to burn or to start up. It is considered non-recoverabe and
the Company will not be held responsible for recovering the product to its original.
5. For better services, please properly keep your warranty card, purchase proof and repair docu-
ments.
6. Contents in this product manual are subject to change without further notice. You may check
the latest version by sending us an email to [email protected].
7. We may save, use and process your warranty questions and contact information, including your
name, telephone number, address, etc., which will be used for specified service purposes only.
We may contact you for satisfaction survey or inform you of related product recall or safety issues.
Therefore, we may send your information to our related bodies, including those entities carrying
out some business on behalf of us. Furthermore, we may disclose relevant information to related
legal institutions according to their requirements.
5. The model or the machine serial number on the label or warranty proof has been altered or is
inconsistent with the actual product;
6. Damage caused by failure to meet the requirements in the product manual for the operating
environment.
7. Failure or damage caused by virus attack, hacker attacks or other malicious behaviors.
8. Damage caused by use of software not authorized by Amethystum.
9. Failure to provide the warranty card and the invoice or inconsistency between the warranty
card and the invoice.
10. Any damage caused by failure to follow the requirements to use, maintain and adjust the
product.

Product Warranty Card
1. Data backup and maintenance: Data in the device are not included in the warranty
scope. Before our services, please back up your data and keep password/key, delete
sensitive information and contents and maintain data security. Neither the Company nor
any of its authorized service outlets will bear liabilities for the damage or loss of data,
programs, mobile storage mediums and other relevant data.
2. Software copyright: For software installation or upgrading of installed software, the
Company and its authorized service outlets only provide services for the software with
legitimate copyright as provided by you and will not bear liabilities for copyright
disputes arising from the installation or upgrading.
3. The Company and its authorized service outlets will not bear liabilities for hardware,
software or network failure caused by uncontrollable or unforeseeable factors (such as
voltage instability or sudden outage) when the engineer performs services according to
standard procedures.
4. The warranty scope excludes software or hardware failure caused by man-made
mistakes or accident, the installation or hardware/software debugging or configuration
of non-designated devices. However, paid value-added services can be provided.
5. To avoid unnecessary losses, the user should provide information on any components
that are not designated by the manufacturer for the device or product before the
services.
