Push the tray into the
cartridge
frame until fully inserte

. Lock tray in
place and power up unit. A New HDD
should always be formatted (see HARD
DISK SETUP Menu).
Your unit comes with a hard disk installed.
To replace the hard disk, unlock the tray
and slide it out of the cartridge frame (Fig1)
.
Push the tray cover towards the back to
open.
Connect the HDD data cable and
the
power cable to the HDD (Fig2)

Your DVR can display 4 camerason one screen (Quad Mode). You can
configure which camera(s) to display.
Press “SEL/EDIT” to change the setting or press “CH1”,“CH2”,
“CH3”,“CH4”to set each channel separately. If achannel is not used,
the system will display “OFF” on the monitor for that channel.
Selects which channel(s) will record. Not recording channels without a
camera attached will save disk space and increase the frame rate for the
cameras that are being used.
There are two modes for video recording:
Each Mode :Compresses and records each channel of video
separately.You can enlarge a single channel of recorded
video to full screen display during playback.
Press “CH1”,“CH2”,“CH3”,“CH4”to
display a camera full screen during playback.
Quad Mode:Compress and records all 4 channelsof video into one
file. This will extend the available recording time on
your HDD, but will not allow you to view any one camera
full screen during playback.

Record frame rate will affect the movement of an object in recorded video.
The higher the record frame rate is set, the more natural motion looks
during playback. System default value is 30 fps (25 for PAL-European
Standard) , that means system will record 30framesper second. You can
set the record frame rate as 30,15,10,7,5,4,3,2, or 1frame(s) per second.
There are three different video quality settings: High, Normal and Low.
The higher the video quality is set, the more space is consumed on the hard
disk. Record frame rate, record quality, and hard disk size affects the total
record time of all DVR systems.
You can set video record method by Time, or Alarm Triggered .

Picture parameters are adjustable for each channel. The default value
for each item is :50
When password is set to “ON”, to stop recording or access the
menus, your correct password will need to be entered. If password
setup is “OFF”, there is no need to input any password before you
stop recording or access a menu.

If you have a compatible speed dome camera attached to your DVR, press the
“PTZ”button and select the camera number that you wish to control. You can
use “UP”,”DOWN”, “RIGHT”, and “LEFT”buttons to control the speed dome’s
horizontal and vertical positioning.Press the“REW”, “FWD”,”PAUSE”,
and ”PLAY” buttons to control the speed dome’s ZOOM and FOCUS functions.
NOTE: Make sure all the lines are correctly connected to the speed dome, and the
proper protocol, baud rate, and address are set per its instructions.
If the AUTO record function is set to “ON” and there is no operational changes in a
five minute period,the DVR will automatically enter the recording mode.
HDD USED
Shows the amount (MB) and percent used on the hard disk drive.
HDD FORMAT
Formatting the hard disk will erase all data on the drive.
Notice: When you first use an HDD in the DVR, please use this function to
format the HDD.

?There are 3 different modes for
sensor setting:
NOT INSTALLED, NORMAL-
CLOSE and NORMAL-OPEN.
A “normally closed” switch is one
that conducts in its resting (inactive)
state, and “opens” to break a circuit
when it is activated. A “normally open”
switch is the opposite. Your DVR has
4 sensor input channels that can be used with either type of switch device.
Please select “NOT INSTALLED” if no external sensor is used.

First, please set the video recording method to Alarm Triggered .
Please refer to section 5.7.
AREA SET: A helpful feature found on your new DVR is the Motion
Detection Grid. You can set areas of a camera’s view that are not to be
triggered by motion. This feature allows you to target specific areas you
want covered, and avoid triggers from areas you deem friendly.
When entering the AREA SET function, please allow a few seconds for the
grid screen to appear.
A square on the grid that is “Active” has dark lines projected on it. You can
select a square to be “Active” or “Inactive” with the SEL/EDIT button. Move
the cursor between cells with the “UP”, “DOWN”, “<<REW”, and “>>FWD”
buttons.
After completing the “MOTION DETECTION SETUP”, exit [MENU],
and press [ Record ] to enable Motion Recording.
SENSITIVITY: Press “Select”

Disconnect the power supply. Change jumper JS1 to select NTSC or
PAL video output format according to the silkscreen on the circuit board.
This feature will reset all user options back to
their original settings from the factory.
Press “Record ”to start recording. Please remember that the
recording process is controlled by the settings made in the Record
Schedule setup (section 5.07).
