This document serves to walk Piglet owners through a quick start of using the device in pictorial
format. The perspective of this guide is from the point of view of a user who has just
unpackaged the Piglet. While this guide is from the perspective of Apple iOS on iPad, the
concepts are the same for iOS and similar for Android/Mac OSX using HamLog.

Quick Start

Power
Power for the Piglet is supplied via Anderson PowerPoles. The voltage input range is 7-15
volts. There is no on/off switch on Piglet. If power is applied, the device is on.
Connect Wifi
●Open the settings apps on your device.

●Select Wi-Fi on the left.
●You should see a network named “Pigtail”.

●Click on “Pigtail”
●After a few seconds you should see a checkmark show up next to Pigtail.
●If you click the “>” icon on the right, you’ll be taken to the network properties as
shown in the following picture.

●Leave DHCP selected.
●You should see an IP address similar to 10.1.1.11 as shown above.
Rig Control

●Press the Home button on your device and open HamLog

●Click Tools

●Scroll down and select Pigtail

●Select your manufacturer.
●Select the radio model.
●If it’s a KX3 or K3, select/deselect “Use Full Interface”
●Feel free to try it both ways, there are two different views for these two radios.
●After a few seconds the IP address of the Piglet should show up in the table at
the bottom of the screen.
●Click on the IP address of the Piglet.

●After selecting the IP of the Piglet, you’ll see it shown up top in red.
●Press the button in the top left of the screen to go back to the tools list.
●Press it once again to get to the main contact list.

●Press “+” in the upper right to add a contact.

●Since you have the Piglet configured, HamLog will attempt to connect to it and
start gathering data from the radio. Freq and Mode should automatically
populate in the contact fields.
●If you press the “PT” button on the bottom toolbar, the control interface will be
displayed.
