PDP-503HDE Plasma TV
Once in a great while, something truly iconic comes
along. Something so ahead of the crowd, so immensely
rewarding, you know it belongs in your world.
“PURE VISION” Pioneer Plasma TV. It’s TV as you’ve never
seen it. The digital display you dream of. Your ultimate
lifestyle accessory. Try it on and see how beautifully it fits.
Sheer bliss
Pioneer Plasma Television
5
Art lovers, stop compromising. Entertainment buffs, start smiling.
Computer wizards, play your hearts out. “PURE VISION” Pioneer Plasma
Television – the first total multi-media TV – graces your space, and your life,
with colossal style and verve. Its big, thin screen with optional fitted speakers and
slick new media receiver whisper urbane sophistication. And Pioneer cutting edge
technology asserts itself with absolute poise. Stunning your senses with the freshest
colours and brightest images ever. Stirring your spirit with its pure, clear quality. And
impressing you to no end by the sensational, lifelike images from a range of media choices.
Just hook up the media receiver and enjoy it all, from DVD or a set-top box to games and the
internet, camcorder footage or stills, not to mention TV as you’ve never seen it. You’ll be swept
away. Totally.
Joy without boundaries
Consider these Pioneer design advantages. A
flat screen so big (50-inch/127 cm diagonal) yet
so thin (less than 10 cm) and light (38.9 kg) you
can hang it, or set it neatly on a stand – your
choice. A media receiver brimming with
functions yet sleek and stylish. And optional
slim side-mounted speakers that output
sublime sound. You’ll love the lustrous silvery
finish. Its quiet operation (there’s no noisy
cooling fan). The ideal 16:9 aspect. And how
guests sitting even off to the side see spot on,
thanks to the 160-degree viewing angle.
However you enjoy the “PURE VISION” Pioneer
Plasma TV, it’s a perfect fit for any home, every
decor. How does Pioneer fill this big, thin screen
with such spectacular images? Here’s what you
don’t see. Sandwiched between the screen’s
glass panels are a million pixels – tiny cells of
inert gas plus electrodes. Electric discharges
make the gas emit UV light. This excites red,
green and blue phosphors. The result: a billion
brilliant colours. And immeasurable viewing
pleasure.

“PURE VISION” Plasma TV is truly a work of art – the ultimate
wall decoration. It’s thin as a framed canvas. And so light, it’s
wall-friendly – it hangs quickly and easily with Pioneer’s optional
wall brackets, either a fixed flat type or an angled one adjustable
up to 25-degrees. You not only use zero floor space, it’s like
being at the cinema.
Mount it like a painting
9
If wall-mounting isn’t for you, you have more choices. Mount the
“PURE VISION” Plasma TV on Pioneer’s specially designed
optional stand, place it on a chic table, then position it anywhere.
You lose almost no space in your room. And gain truly mobile
moving pictures.
Outstanding on a stand
Clear and bright
Technology can’t control nature, even on TV. But
Pioneer can make the outlook considerably
more natural. Colours pop out of the shadows.
And contours appear amazingly clear-cut. It’s no
illusion, it’s high technology Pioneer style. A
new Deep Waffle Rib structure assures more
efficiency in light emission, resulting in almost
60% more brightness. A pure colour filter
notably improves colour reproduction and
purity including a better image contrast. And
CLEAR drive technology illuminates dark
patches. Images look smoother and more fluid
due to Pioneer’s 100 Hz progressive scan drive.
You also enjoy higher image resolution than
ordinary TV or other plasmas. Wide XGA
resolution assures truly superior quality
images. So everything looks brighter and lighter
on “PURE VISION” Pioneer Plasma TV.

True Matrix Imaging with Deep Waffle Rib Structure
Does even the sun shine brighter on “PURE VISION” Pioneer
Plasma TV? True Matrix Imaging certainly makes it seem so.
Simply put, Pioneer’s exclusive brainwave works like this. A new
deep waffle-shaped rib structure increases the area of light-
emitting phosphors – increasing the brightness by almost 60%
for way more brilliance. Each plasma cell is deeper, encapsulated
with horizontal ribs so emitted light won’t leak into neighbouring
cells. With this new deep cell structure, you enjoy higher
brightness and stronger contrast. And when one million tiny
coloured fluorescent lamps fire at once, you get the full impact.
Images illuminated to the max. And details exquisitely
highlighted. Just as you like it.

Colours you can taste
Step out of the shadows
Pure Colour Filter
Never a dull red, never a faded orange. With Pioneer’s Pure Colour Filter,
colours come out so bold and pure you could taste them. And at double
the contrast, so solid you could pick them (well, almost). How? Pioneer’s
unique filter reduces unnecessary frequency components of red, green
and blue signals. And further absorbs extra light with black stripes
between plasma cells. Reflection is so minimised, true colour so
maximised, images glitter with vitality. Like looking through a window.
Even in broad daylight.
CLEAR* Drive
You’ll be amazed how Pioneer dramatically improves your night vision.
Check out that film noir. Can you pick out the lurker in the shadows? Make
out the logo on his anorak? Is his outline clear and distinct, not fuzzy or
jagged as with other plasmas? With Pioneer’s advanced CLEAR* drive, you
get a resounding YES all the way. By eliminating too-high reset
discharges, it eradicates false contour noise of poor gradation areas.
Intensifies contrast. Improves grey gradations. And makes blackness
blacker yet easier to see in. So you won’t be surprised by what pops out
of the gloom. Unless, of course, that’s in the script.

Faster than the eye can see
100 Hz progressive scan
With “PURE VISION” Pioneer Plasma TV, it’s not only images that look
clearer and brighter. Your eyes will, too. Regular TV displays 50 interlaced
pictures a second, producing tiny flickers that tire the eyes. This effect is
even more evident on a large-screen, high resolution display. So Pioneer’s
100 Hz progressive scan drive processes pictures at a blazing 100 times a
second. You lose every trace of flicker. And gain striking realism with
higher resolution. And – a world-first – Pioneer doubles the density of
high-definition signals. You pull in smoother reception on digital TV. Cable
and satellite, too. Whatever your pleasure, however long you watch, it’s
easy on your eyes.
