I. Introduction
The HDMIextender over 2UTPcables with IR control is the right way to send your HDMIsignal over
longdistances.Instead of usingexpensiveHDMIcables,this device lets youuse yourexistingCat5e/ 6
cables/sockets while also performingthe samefunctionsliketransferringDeep Color (12bits/color)
video and new lossless compressed (Dolby TrueHD,Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio)
digital audio, all with abandwidth up to 225MHz. And if that weren tenough, you can use your existing
remote to control your device throughan IRblaster.

V. Connect andOperate
Connect the signal source such as Blu-RayPlayer,PlayStation 3,audio/video receiver,cable or satellite
receivers and computers equipped with HDMI output interfaces withashort high-speed HDMIcable to
the HDMITransmitterinput. HDMIcable length should not exceed 16 ft.
Connect the HDMITransmitter output RJ-45ports usingdual-runs of Cat 5e or Cat 6UTPcables to
included Receiver,which does not require apower supply.Itis strongly recommended that factory
terminated cable assemblies be used and theirlength shall not exceed 100 ftof Cat5e and110 ft ofCat
6for the 30 mextenders and 164 ft and180 ft respectively for the 50 mextenders.
Connect the HDMIoutput fromthe Receiver tohigh-definition display devices such as HD-LCD,
HD-DLPand HD projectors with HDMIinput interfaces.Use high-speed HDMIcables that are
recommended for the distances thatare required for eachconnection.HDMIcable length should not
exceed 16 ft.
The Receivers are powered by an external power supply which is included.Connect powerfirst to the

source, then to the Receiver and then to each HDTVor projector.
The source can be controlled fromthe display.This is accomplished by usingan optional IR Receiver
pigtail pointingaway fromthedisplay,which can be connected to the receiver portion of theextender.
The IRTransmitter pigtail is then connected tothe Transmitter of the extender and pointed at the source.
