INTRODUCTION
What is PMS? PMS stands for Powered MuscleStimulator
ThePMS unit isa batterypowereddevicethattransmits a
mild electricimpulsesthroughconductiveself-adhesiveelectrodes.
These impulsespassthrough the skin to underlying nerve
fibers and muscles to modify the perception of pain.
PMS isa safe and effectivedrugfreemethod of reducingpain
that isinuseby physicians andin painclinics all over the world.
The HomeTech PMS system unit isa high quality electric
therapystimulator that youcanusein yourhome.
PaintherapywithPMS. ThePMS provided maybe
effective in helping to manage particularpain problems. Its
physiologicalreasonings are explained as follows:
a. Gatecontroltheory.
b. The endorphin theory.
c. Nerve block theory.
d. Pumping effect.
e. Placebotheory.
No matterwhatpaintheory is applied, PMSis bothsafe and

93/42/EEC as amended by 2007/47/EC.
• Operation in closeproximity ( e.g. 1m) to shortwave or
microwavetherapy equipment may produce instability in
the stimulator output.(IEC601-2-10).
• Don'tapply the electrode padto broken skin.
• Don't abruptlystop or reset the device. Itmay cause the
userdiscomfort.
• Don'tre-use too manytimes, if the electrode has deteriorated.
The user may feel irritation, hotness orno effect.
• PMS should notbe used inthe presence of cardiac
pace m a k e rsorduring pregnancy.

» Keep out ofthe reach of children.
• The contactperiod is within 30 min onthe samepart of
patient'sbody for eachusage, butthe contactperiod can
be adjusted bythe physician or therapist.
' Don't stimulate over carotid sinus nerves or around t h e mouth
region.

PREPARATION FOR USE
1. Insert 3V battery,makingsure itis positionedcorrectly.
Connect to thepadand place onthe skinarea.
2. Touch the rightbutton to turn on unit and raisedensity level
or touch the left button to lower the densitylevel and turn off
the unit.
3. Turn onthe unit. TheLCD screendisplaywillshow P1 (touch
modebutton to changeprogram to P2...PO, there areten
programs).
4. When the program has beenchanged, the densitylevelw ill
return to "0". To raise the density,simplypress the right
buttonagain.
5. Touching the right or leftbuttonwillactivate the density
function andtheLCD display the density level.After 10
seconds theLCD w i l l display the number of minutes that the
unit ison for, the density andthe modeevery 3 seconds.
6. The unit works fora period of30 minutes and then will
automaticallyturnoff.
7. If the densitylevelremains at 0 f or more than 3 minutes,the
unit will automatically switch off.
8. The modebuttonwillfastforwardwhenpressed, the density
button will not.
