Before ironing a garment, you should always check
the symbols appearing on the label and the manu-
facturer’s laundry instructions. Check which type of
ironing is advisable using the table below:
STEAM IRONING
• Set the iron temperature to the “ ” position by
turning the dial (7) (fig. 3).
• Wait for the heating indicator light (11) to go off
and the “auto off” light to stop flashing and stay on
(about 3 minutes). The appliance will give a
sound signal when ready.
• Press the button (10) on the iron to let steam out
of the holes on its soleplate. When you release
the button, the steam will continue to flow for a
few more seconds. If you attempt to use steam
and the appliance is not ready to produce it yet, it
will give a sound signal and the sound of water
refilling will become louder.
•WARNING: the first time you turn on the iron,
or after filling the water tank, it may take 20 to
40 seconds before steam is produced from
the soleplate after you request steam. The low
water level indicator light (4) may come on at
this time. This is normal, as it takes time to fill
the tubes with water. The noise you hear when
you turn the appliance on, and periodically
during its use, is due to the water refilling sys-
tem.
NOTE: When you request steam for the first time,
a few drops of water may drip from the soleplate.
This is because the temperature has not yet sta-
bilised perfectly. It is therefore recommended that
you direct the first jet of steam onto a clean cloth.
• Use the steam control button (1) to adjust the
steam flow as appropriate to the type of fabric to
be ironed (depending how delicate it is). Each
time you press the button (1), the quantity of
steam produced will be changed, and the corre-
sponding indicator light (b) will come on.
You can choose among four different levels of
steam production, indicated by the steam indica-
tor light (2) coming on (fig.4):
•max: maximum steam
•med: medium steam
•low: low steam
•all lights off: no steam
DRY IRONING:
• When ironing without steam (ONLY), adjust the
temperature of the iron by turning the dial (7).
• Press the steam control button (1) until the steam
indicator lights (2) go off.
NOTE:
• The iron heating indicator light (11) comes on and
goes off while the iron is in use. This shows that
the electrical heater has kicked in to keep the
soleplate temperature constant. This is normal,
and you can continue ironing.
• When you need to use steam for a long time with-
out pause, every now and then the iron will pro-
duce a sound signal and stop refilling with water
for a few seconds. This is to prevent water from
dripping out of the soleplate.

If steam is not provided upon request and the low
water level indicator (4) is flashing, there is no water
left in the water tank. If you wish to continue using
the steam iron, simply top up the water level in the
self-filling water tank, as described in the section
PREPARATION FOR USE.

off” indicator light (3) will switch from green to red
