Satety Belts
lnslruclions
r For your and your passengers' protec-
tion, use safely bells al all limes while
the vehicle is in motion. Use chlld safety
seata for all small children.
r Safety bells must be properly positioned
on lhe body. lmprope y positioned safe-
ly bells can cause serious personal in-
jury in case ol an accidenl.
r Porsche recommends that all infanls and
children be restralned in child restraint
syslems at all limes while the vehlcle ls
ln motlon in accordance wiih applicable
laws.
r The use ot infant or child restraints ls
requhed by law in all 50 slates and the
Canadian provinces. The chlld resiraint
syslem should be one that complies with
U,S. Federal Motor Vehlcle Satety Stan-
dard 213 and should be secured by a lap
belt or the lap belt portion of a lap-shoul-
der belt. A stalemenl by lhe 6eat manu-
tactuler ol compliance with this standard
can be lound on the instruction label on
the restraintand inlhe inslructlon manual
provided with the restrainl.
r When using an inlant or child reslraint
system be sure to lollow all manutaclur.

. Several layers of heavy clothing may ln-
lerfere with proper positioning ot bells,
r Belts must not rub against sharp obiects.
. Keep belt buckles llee ol any gbslruction
lhal may prevent secure locking.
r Make sule that belt ol lhe unoccupied
passenger seat is lully wound up on ils
retraclor so thal lhe belt tongue is in ils
slowed position.
r Belts thal have been subiecled lo exces-
sive slretch forces in an accidenl must
be replaced.
. ll bells show damage lo webbing, bind-
ings, buckles or retraclors, they should
be replaced.
r It bells do nol work properly, see youl
authorized Porsche dealer.
. Do nol modily or disassemble the safety
belts ln your vehicle.
r The belts musl be kepl clean as oiher-
wlse lhe retractors may not work proper-
ly (see also "Car care lnstructlons"),
. Never bleach or dye salely belts.
. Oo not allow salety belis lo retract unlll
lhey are complelely dry.
