The contents of these agents etch the paint coat (paint
swells, rubber-like texture). Consequently, the paint coat can
falloff the substratum when a mechanical load is applied.
Furthermore,the surfacemayshinebrightlyafter usingthe
cleaningagents.
The following procedure is recommended for the care or
cleaning of soft-look paint surfaces on the basis of labora-
tory tests.

Removingthe alarmreadinesscoverand Liftthe alarmreadinesscover-3- andunclipit upwards
the defrostercover outofthe clip-4-. Thelenscover-2- canbe unclippedfor
replacementpurposes.
Liftthe defrostercovers leftand right-5, 6- with a plastic
spatulaandunclipout ofthe clips-4-.
Removingthe alarmreadinessunit Undothefasteningscrews-7-, liftthealarmreadinessunit
-8- and disconnectthe electricalconnection.
Removingthe loudspeaker Undothefasteningscrews-9-, raisethe outsideofthe
loudspeaker-10- andguideit out.Atthe plug connection,
-II-press the lockingtab -arrow- anddisconnect.
Removingthe instrumentmount Toremovethe hazardwarninglightswitch:switchonthe
switch-12- (buttoncomesout).Therearesmall openings
onthe sideswhich nowprojectoverthe instrumentcowl.
Inserttwo narrowscrewdriversintothe openings-arrow
A- andpull offthe buttontowardsthefront. Thehazard
warninglightswitch-13- is heldinthe instrumentbridge
-17- bytwo lockinghooks-arrow B-. Pressthe right lock-
inghooktowardthe switch,grip the buttonholderwitha
pair ofpliersandpullouttheswitchtowardthefront. Press
thecollar-14- outfromtherear.Pulloffthecover-15- on
the leftsideandundothefasteningscrews-16-. Liftthe
instrumentmount-17- onthe leftandrightandunclipfrom
theclips-4-.
Disconnectingthe electricalplugconnection Disconnectthe electricalconnection-18- onthe rearside
ofthe instrumentmount.Todo so,pressthelockingtab of
the plugconnectionandunlockthe lockingleverinthe
-direction of the arrow-.

Inorderto disassemblethe sidevent,the coveringcap
-28-, thefasteningnut-26- andtheinnerrace-27- ofthe
mainlightswitch-31- canbe removed.Removelight
switch-31- from the side vent byturning it slightlyin
clockwisedirection.
Removingthe steeringcolumnswitchcover Undothefasteningscrews-32- onthe lowersteeringcol-
umnswitchcover -36- andremovebothsteeringcolumn
covers-33, 36 or 35-.
Removingthe steeringcolumnswitch Undothe fasteningscrew-37- inthe cover-38- andthe
steeringcolumnswitch-42- andremove.Disconnectthe
electricalplugconnection.
Inorderto disassemblethe steeringcolumnswitch-42-,
the slip ring-41- canbe disconnectedby undoingthe fas-
