I. GENERAL OPERATION
• Read, understand, and follow all instructions on the
machine and in the manual before starting.
• Do not put hands or feet near rotating parts or under
the machine. Keep clear of the discharge opening at
all times.
• Only allow responsible adults, who are familiar with the
instructions, to operate the machine.
• Clear the area of objects such as rocks, toys, wire, etc.,
which could be picked up and thrown by the blades.
• Be sure the area is clear of bystanders before operat-
ing. Stop machine if anyone enters the area.
• Never carry passengers.
• Do not mow in reverse unless absolutely necessary. Al-
ways look down and behind before and while backing.
• Neverdirectdischargedmaterialtowardanyone.Avoid
discharging material against a wall or obstruction. Ma-
terial may ricochet back toward the operator. Stop the
blades when crossing gravel surfaces.
• Donotoperate machinewithoutthe entiregrasscatcher,
discharge guard, or other safety devices in place and
working.
• Slow down before turning.
• Never leave a running machine unattended. Always
turn off blades, set parking brake, stop engine, and
remove keys before dismounting.
• Disengage blades when not mowing. Shut off engine
and wait for all parts to come to a complete stop before
cleaning the machine, removing the grass catcher, or
unclogging the discharge guard.
• Operate machine only in daylight or good artificial
light.
• Do not operate the machine while under the influence
of alcohol or drugs.
• Watch for traffic when operating near or crossing road-
ways.
• Use extra care when loading or unloading the machine
into a trailer or truck.
• Always wear eye protection when operating machine.

Safe Operation Practices for Ride-On Mowers
IMPORTANT: THIS CUTTING MACHINE IS CAPABLE OF AMPUTATING HANDS AND FEET AND THROWING OBJECTS. FAILURE
TO OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
WARNING: In order to prevent ac-
cidental starting when setting up,
transporting, adjusting or making re-
pairs, always disconnect spark plug
wire and place wire where it cannot
contact spark plug.
WARNING: Do not coast down a hill
in neutral, you may lose control of the
tractor.
WARNING: Tow only the attachments
that are recommended by and com-
ply with specifications of the manu-
facturer of your tractor. Use common
sense when towing. Operate only at
the lowest possible speed when on a
slope. Too heavy of a load, while on
a slope, is dangerous. Tires can lose
tractionwith thegroundand causeyou
to lose control of your tractor.
• Data indicates that operators, age 60 years and above,
are involved in a large percentage of riding mower-re-
lated injuries. These operators should evaluate their
ability to operate the riding mower safely enough to
protect themselves and others from serious injury.
• Follow the manufacturer's recommendation for wheel
weights or counterweights.
• Keep machine free of grass , leaves or other debris
build-up which can touch hot exhaust/engine parts
and burn. Do not allow the mower deck to plow leaves
or other debris which can cause build-up to occur.
Clean any oil or fuel spillage before operating or
storing the machine. Allow machine to cool before
storage.
II. SLOPE OPERATION
Slopes are a major factor related to loss of control and
tip-over accidents, which can result in severe injury or
death. Operation on all slopes requires extra caution. If
you cannot back up the slope or if you feel uneasy on it,
do not mow it.
• Mow up and down slopes, not across.
• Watch for holes, ruts, bumps, rocks, or other hidden
objects. Uneven terrain could overturn the machine.
Tall grass can hide obstacles.
• Choose a low ground speed so that you will not have
to stop or shift while on the slope.
• Do not mow on wet grass. Tires may lose traction.
Always keep the machine in gear when going down
slopes. Do not shift to neutral and coast downhill.
• Avoid starting, stopping, or turning on a slope. If the
tires lose traction, disengage the blades and proceed
slowly straight down the slope.
• Keep all movement on the slopes slow and gradual.
Do not make sudden changes in speed or direction,
which could cause the machine to roll over.
• Use extra care while operating machine with grass
catchers or other attachments; they can affect the
stability of the machine. Do no use on steep slopes.
• Do not try to stabilize the machine by putting your foot
on the ground.
• Do not mow near drop-offs, ditches, or embankments.
The machine could suddenly roll over if a wheel is over
the edge or if the edge caves in.
III. CHILDREN
Tragic accidents can occur if the operator is not alert to
the presence of children. Children are often attracted to
the machine and the mowing activity. Never assume that
children will remain where you last saw them.
• Keepchildrenout of themowingareaand inthewatchful
care of a responsible adult other than the operator.
• Be alert and turn machine off if a child enters the
area.
• Before and while backing, look behind and down for
small children.
• Nevercarrychildren, even withtheblades shut off. They
may fall off and be seriously injured or interfere with
safemachineoperation.Childrenwhohavebeengiven
rides in the past may suddenly appear in the mowing
area for another ride and be run over or backed over
by the machine.
• Never allow children to operate the machine.
• Useextracare when approachingblindcorners, shrubs,
trees, or other objects that may block your view of a
child.

IV. TOWING
• Tow only with a machine that has a hitch designed for
towing. Do not attach towed equipment except at the
hitch point.
• Follow the manufacturer's recommendation for weight
limits for towed equipment and towing on slopes.
• Never allow children or others in or on towed equip-
ment.
• On slopes, the weight of the towed equipment may
cause loss of traction and loss of control.
• Travel slowly and allow extra distance to stop.
V. SERVICE
SAFE HANDLING OF GASOLINE
To avoid personal injury or property damage, use extreme
care in handling gasoline. Gasoline is extremely flammable
and the vapors are explosive.
• Extinguish all cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and other
sources of ignition.
• Use only approved gasoline container.
• Never remove gas cap or add fuel with the engine run-
ning. Allow engine to cool before refueling.
• Never fuel the machine indoors.
• Never store the machine or fuel container where there
is an open flame, spark, or pilot light such as on a water
heater or other appliances.
• Never fill containers inside a vehicle or on a truck or
trailer bed with plastic liner. Always place containers
on the ground away from your vehicle when filling.
• Removegas-poweredequipmentfrom thetruckortrailer
and refuel it on the ground. If this is not possible, then
refuel such equipment with a portable container, rather
than from a gasoline dispenser nozzle.
• Keep the nozzle in contact with the rim of the fuel tank
orcontainer opening atalltimes until fuelingiscomplete.
Do not use a nozzle lock-open device.
• If fuel is spilled on clothing, change clothing immedi-
ately.
• Never overfill fuel tank. Replace gas cap and tighten
securely.
GENERAL SERVICE
• Never operate machine in a closed are.
• Keep all nuts and bolts tight to be sure the equipment
is in safe working condition.
• Never tamper with safety devices. Check their proper
operation regularly.
• Keep machine free of grass, leaves, or other debris
build-up. Clean oil or fuel spillage and remove any fuel-
soaked debris. Allow machine to cool before storing.
• If you strike a foreign object, stop and inspect the
machine. Repair, if necessary, before restarting.
• Never make any adjustments or repairs with the engine
running.
• Check grass catcher components and the discharge
guard frequently and replace with manufacturer's rec-
ommended parts, when necessary.
• Mower blades are sharp. Wrap the blade or wear
gloves, and use extra caution when servicing them.
• Check brake operation frequently. Adjust and service
as required.
• Maintain or replace safety and instruction labels, as
necessary.

the operating instructions and safety precautions thoroughly to insure proper functioning of your Grass Catcher and to
prevent injury to yourself and others. Save this manual for future reference.
The operation of any tractor can result in foreign objects thrown into the eyes, which can result in
severe eye damage. Always wear safety glasses or eye shields before starting your tractor and
while mowing. We recommend a wide vision safety mask for over the spectacles or standard safety
glasses.
UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS
• Remove all parts and packing materials from carton.
• Check carton contents against list. Be sure all parts
are there.

CAUTION: BEFORE ASSEMBLING GRASS CATCHER TO TRACTOR:
• Depress clutch/brake pedal fully and set parking brake.
• Place gearshift/motion control lever in "NEUTRAL" position.
• Place attachment clutch in "DISENGAGED" position.
• Turn ignition key "OFF" and remove key.
• Make sure the blade and all moving parts have completely stopped.
• Disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug and place wire where it cannot come in contact
with plug.

outside of unit. Install other container to right side.

2. Place one foot inside bottom half and lift top half to
meet bottom half.

1. Lower mower deck to its lowest cutting position.
NOTE: If equipped, remove mulch cover from mower deck
and store in a safe place.
2. With your right hand, raise and hold deflector shield in
upright position.
3. With your left hand, hold lower chute as shown and
positionlowerrearedgeofchutebetweengaugewheel
bracket tab and mower housing, then carefully release
deflector shield and hook rear latch to mower deck.
4. Raise deflector shield and align "B" on lower chute
extended edge with "B" on mower housing.
5. With your right hand, push firmly on the lower chute
untiltheextended edge slides under thedeflectorshield
and along side the hinge bracket as shown.
6. With chute in proper position, hold the chute securely,
so it does not move, while hooking the front latch to
the mower deck.
NOTE: While hooking the latches, the deflector shield may
try to push the chute away from the mower deck opening.
It is important to hold the chute in position while hooking
the latches to the mower deck.
• If your tractor is equipped with gauge wheels on the
deck, then it will be necessary to hook the rear latch
into the hole in the R.H. gauge wheel bracket.

UPPER CHUTE (See Figs. 6A & 6B)
1. Lower mower deck to its lowest cutting position.
2. Assemble upper chute by inserting curved end into
hole in back of cover.
NOTE: Handle carefully so as not to damage full bag indi-
cator.
3. Push in and turn upper chute until it is in line with lower
chute.
4. Align the bosses on lower chute with alignment slots
on upper chute and slide together.
5. Secure with rubber latch by hooking hole in latch over
latch pin.

mance. See your tractors owner's manual for instruc-
tions.

TIPS FOR IMPROVED BAGGING
OPERATION:
Follow the mower operation instructions in your tractor
owner's manual.
When operating your grass catcher on a lawn where grass
and leaf bagging equipment has not been used, you are
picking up thatch and debris that has accumulated for long
periods of time. The amount collected and the total time
of operation may be greater than you will experience with
regular use of your grass catcher.
• Always run throttle at full speed when bagging.
• Select a gear low enough to give good mower cutting
performance, good quality cut and good bagging
performance.
NOTE: It may be necessary to overlap width of cut to suit
your conditions.
• If grass is extremely tall, it should be mowed twice. The
first time relatively high, the second time to desired
height.
• Use left hand side of mower for trimming.
• Plastic trash bags can be inserted inside grass catcher
containers for ease of debris disposal. To remove the
plastic trash bags when full:
a. Disengage blades, shift into neutral, engage the
parking brake and stop the engine.
b. Raise seat. Unlatch and raise cover.
c. Remove one container at a time by grasping
container handles and pulling toward the rear, off
of the tube rails.
d. With the container resting on the ground, close
and secure the top of the plastic lawn bag.
e. Tip the container on its side and slide the filled bag
from the container.
f. Install a new plastic lawn bag with the edges of the
bag draped over upper lip of the container.
g. Repeat for other containers.
h. Reinstall containers making sure right container
overlaps left container at center supports.
j. Closecoverandsecure latches overcentersupport
tubes.
• Avoid cutting wet grass or in the morning while the dew
is still heavy. Grass clippings collected under these
conditions tend to be sticky and adhere to the walls of
the flow path causing clogging.
• Your bagger is equipped with a full bagger indicator.
Movement of the wheel increases as the bags fill. The
wheel will be spinning fastest just before the bags fill
completely. When the wheel stops, it indicates that the
bags are full and the chutes have become clogged.
NOTE: To help prevent clogging of chutes, check/empty
bags when the wheel is spinning fast. Experience will teach
you the best time to empty the bags.
Care should be taken not to damage the parts and that
the wheel spins freely at the beginning of each use.
• If the grass catcher fails to pick up cut grass or leaves,
it is an indication that clogging has occurred in the
system or that the grass catcher containers are full.
Usually this is indicated by the stopped movement of
the full bagger indicator.
a. Disengage blades, shift into neutral, engage the
parking brake and stop the engine.
- Raise seat. Unlatch and raise cover.
- Slide out containers and dispose of clippings .
- Replace containers, close cover, and latch.
b. Unlatch chutes and check for clogging.
- Remove all debris in chutes.
- Reassemble and latch chutes
c. Checktoinsure fullbagger indicatorhasnotbecome
clogged.
- The air passage hole must be clear of debris.
Gentlyinsert asmalltwig orwireintopassageway
to clear.
CAUTION
• Do not operate mower with grass catcher
partially installed.
• Disengage blades and stop engine before
leaving tractor seat to empty containers,
unclogging chutes, etc.
• Close cover before starting.
• Disengage mower when crossing driveways
or gravel surfaces and other areas where
thrown objects could be a hazard.
• Do not attempt to vacuum up cans or other
potentially hazardous projectiles.

STORAGE
When grass catcher is to be stored for a period of time,
clean it thoroughly, remove all dirt, grass, leaves, etc. Store
in a clean, dry place.
CAUTION: Donotleave grass in bagger
containers. Emptycontainersaftereach
useand before storing. Failure todoso
mayresultinspontaneouscombustion
which could develop into a fire.
GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Always observe safety rules when performing any main-
tenance.
• Before each use check for loose fasteners.
• Clean unit thoroughly after each use.
BLADE CARE
Forbestresultsmowerblades must be kept sharp. Replace
bent or damaged blades.
• See BLADE CARE instructions in your tractor owner's
manual.

RECOMMANDATIONS GÉNÉRALES
Observez toujours les règles de sécurité quand vous faites
l’entretien.
• Avant chaque utilisation, vérifiez pour les attaches lâches.
• Nettoyez complètement le produit après chaque

SOIN DES LAMES
Pourobtenir lesmeilleurs résultats,les lamesde tondeuse doivent
être conservées tranchantes. Remplacez les lames courbées
ou avariées.
• Voyez les instructions du Soin de Lames dans le manuel du
propriétaire de votre tracteur.
RESPONSABILITÉS DU CLIENT
ATTENTION: AVANT D’EFFEC TUER
TOUS L’ENTRETIEN, L’INS PECTION,
OU RÉGLAGE:
• Appuyez complètement sur la pédale de
frein/embrayage et fixez le frein de sta-
tionnement.
• Mettez le levier de commande de change-
ment de vitesse/mouvement en position
à point mort (N).
• Mettezlelevierdecommanded’embrayage
en la position débrayée (DISENGAGED).
• Tournezlaclédecontactenpositiond’arrêt
(OFF).
• Assurez-vous que les lames et toutes les
pièces mobiles soient complètement ar-
rêtées.
• Débranchez le(s) fil(s) de bougie
d’allumage et posez-le(s) de telle façon
qu’il(s) ne puisse pas entrer en contact
avec la (les) bougie(s).
ENTREPOSAGE
Quand le ramasse-herbe doit être entreposé pour une certaine
période, nettoyez-le soigneusement. Enlevez toutes les saletés,
la graisse, les débris de feuille. Entreposez dans un espace
propre et sec.
ATTENTION: Les composants du
ramasse-herbe sont fabriquées du
matériau très résistant. Cependant,
en cas d’usure excessive ou
endommagement, remplacez-les
immédiatement. Les composants
doivent être conformés aux
spécifications du fabricant afin
d’assurer un bon fonctionnement et la
sécurité du produit.
ATTENTION: Nepermettezpasderester
de l’herbe coupée dans le ramasse-
herbe! Ceci peut causer un danger
d’incendie. Videzles conteneursaprès
chaque usage et avant d’entreposer.

• Évitezde tondre legazon mouillé oupendant le matinlorsque
la rosée est très lourde. L’herbe coupée qui a amassée sous
ces conditions a une tendance à coller aux parois et à bloquer
le ramasse-herbe.
• Votreensacheur est équipéd’unindicateur pourvousinformer
quel’ensacheurest plein.Lemouvement delaroue augmente
au fur età mesureque lessacs seremplissent. Lemouvement
de rotation de la roue sera le plus rapide juste avant que les
sacs soient complètement remplis. La roue s’arrête lorsque
les sacs sont pleins et que les goulottes sont bloquées.
REMARQUE: Afin d’éviter le blocage des chutes, vérifiez/videz
les sacs lorsque la roue tourne rapidement. L’expérience vous
montrera le temps idéal pour vider les sacs.
Faites attention pour que les pièces ne soient pas avariées
etla boulebouge libéralementau commencement de chaque
utilisation.
• Sile ramasse-herbecesse de ramasserl’herbe coupéeou les
feuilles, il sera une indication d’un blocage dans le système
ou que les conteneurs du ramasse-herbe sont pleins. Ceci
est indiqué quand l'indicateur de sac plein ne bouge pas.
a. Dégagez les lames, mettez le levier de changement
de vitesse au point mort, enclenchez le frein de
stationnement et coupez le moteur.
- Soulevez le siège, décliquetez et soulevez le
couvercle.
- Glissez les conteneurs et déposez de l’herbe
coupée.
- Remettezenplaceles conteneurs, fermezlecouvercle
et encliquetez le loquet.
b. Décliquetez les glissières et cherchez pour les
blocages.
- Enlevez tous les débris dans les glissières.
- Montez encore et encliquetez les glissières
c. Vérifiez que l’indicateur de sac plein n’a pas été
obstrué.
- Le trou du passage d’air doit être libre des débris.
Insérez doucement une petite brindille ou un petit fil
dans le passage à dégager.
UTILISATION
CONSEILS POUR AMÉLIORER LE
RAMASSAGE:
Suivez les instructions de l’utilisation de la tondeuse dans votre
manuel du propriétaire de tracteur.
Quand vous utilisez votre ramasse-herbe sur une pelouse où
l’équipement du ramassage d’herbe et de feuille n’a pas été
utilisé, vous ramassez le chaume et les débris qui ont accumulé
pendant les durée longues. La quantité rassemblée et le temps
de l’exploitation peuvent être plus grands que vous éprouverez
avec l’utilisation habituelle de votre ramasse-herbe.
• Mettez toujours la commande des gaz à pleine force pendant
le ramassage.
• Choisissez une vitesse assez basse qui permettra un
rendement, une bonne qualité de coupe ainsi qu’un bon
rendement de ramassage.
REMARQUE: Il peut être nécessaire chevaucher la largeur de
coupe pour convenir à vos conditions.
• Quand l’herbe est extrêmement longue, elle doit être coupé
deux fois; la première fois relativement haute, la deuxième
fois à la hauteur désirée.
• Utilisez le côté à gauche de la tondeuse pour rogner.
• Lessac-poubelles de plastique peuvent être insérés dansles
conteneursdu ramasse-herbepour faciliter la disposition des
débris. Pour enlever les sac-poubelles de plastique quand
ils sont pleins:
a. Dégagez les lames, mettez le levier de changement
de vitesse au point mort, enclenchez le frein de
stationnement et coupez le moteur.
b. Soulevez le siège. Levez le loquet et soulevez la
couverture.
c. Enlevez un (1) conteneur à une fois en empoignant les
poignés de conteneur. Vous le tirez vers l’arrière et
glissez-les des tubes.
d. Posez le conteneur sur la terre puis fermez et fixez le
sommet du sac-poubelle.
e. Basculez le conteneur sur son côté et glissez le sac-
poubelle plein hors du conteneur.
f. Mettez en place un nouveau sac-poubelle avecles bords
du sac drapés sur le bord supérieur du conteneur.
g Répétez les instructions ci-dessus pour l’autre
conteneur.
h. Remettez en place les conteneurs mais faites attention
que le conteneur à droite chevauche le conteneur à
gauche sur le soutien central.
j. Fermez le couvercle et fixez le loquet sur le tuyau du
soutien central.
ATTENTION
• N’utilisez pas la tondeuse avec le ra-
masse-herbe installé partiellement.
• Dégagez les lames et coupez le moteur
avant de descendre le siège de tracteur
à vider les conteneurs, déobstruez les
glissières, etc.
• Fermez le couvercle avant de démarrer
le moteur.
• Dégagez la tondeuse lorsque vous
traversez des surfaces en gravier ou
lorsqu’il y a un danger que des objets
pourraient êtreprojetés.
• N’essayez pas de ramasser les bidons
ou les autres objets qui pourraient être
dangereux.

7NIVELER LE CARTER DE TONDEUSE
Faites attention que le carter de tondeuse est correctement nivelé
pour le meilleur rendement de la tondeuse. Référez-vous au
manuel du propriétaire de votre tracteur pour les instructions.

1. Baissez le carter de tondeuse à la position de coupe plus
basse.
2. Montezla glissièresupérieureen insérantl’extrémité courbée
dans le trou en l’arrière du couvercle.
REMARQUE: Faites attention pour que l’indicateur de sac
déchargement ne soit pas avarié.
3. Intercalez et tournez la glissière supérieure jusqu’à ce qu’elle
aligne avec la glissière inférieure.
4 Alignez les bosses sur la glissière inférieure avec les fentes
d’alignement sur la glissière supérieure et glissez-les
ensemble.
5. Fixez avec le loquet de caoutchouc en accrochant le loquet
par-dessus de la goupille de loquet.

1. Baissez le carter de tondeuse à la position de coupe plus
basse.
REMARQUE : Si l’appareil est équipé d’un couvercle pour la
déchiqueteuse, veuillez l’enlever du châssis de la tondeuse et
l’entreposer en lieu sûr.
2. Avec votre main droite, soulevez et tenez le déflecteur de
décharge dans la position droite.
3. Avec votre main gauche, tenir la chute du bas tel que
démontré et positionner le bord arrière du bas de la chute
entrel’onglet du support de laroue dejauge et le châssis dela
tondeuse.Ensuite, relâcheravec prudencel’écran déflecteur
et accrocher le loquet arrière au châssis de la tondeuse.
4. Élever l’écran déflecteur et aligner la lettre "B" sur le rebord
prolongé de la chute du bas avec la lettre "B" qui est située
sur le châssis de la tondeuse.
5. Avec votre main droite, poussez fermement sur la manche
de décharge inférieur jusqu’à ce que le bord étendu
glisse sous le déflecteur de décharge et le long du côté du
support de charnière comme montrée.
6. Lachute étantmaintenantdans labonne position,maintenez-
la bien en place pour qu’elle ne bouge pas, tandis que vous
accrochez le loquet avant au châssis de la tondeuse.
REMARQUE: Lorsque vous accrochez les loquets, l’écran dé-
flecteur repousse parfois le plan incliné loin de l’ouverture du
pont de la tondeuse, Vous devez absolument maintenir le plan
incliné en place lorsque vous accrochez les loquets sur le pont
de la tondeuse.
• Si le pont de votre tracteur est muni de roues de profondeur,
vous devez accrochez le loquet arrière au trou qui se trouve
sur le taquet de la roue de profondeur arrière.
ATTENTION: N’enlevezpasledéflecteur
de décharge de la tondeuse. Soulevez
et tenez le déflecteur quand vous fixez
la glissière inférieure et permettez-le
de reposer sur la glissière pendant
l’utilisation.

1. Soulevez et tenez le déflecteur de décharge dans la position
droite.
2. Placez la fente dans la manche de dècharge inférieure au-
dessus la patte sur le carter de tondeuse et placez la manche
au-dessus de l’ouverture comme montrée.
3. Accrochez le loquet arrière dans le trou de patte sur l’arrière
du carter de tondeuse.
4. Accrochez le loquet antérieur dans le trou de patte sur le
devant du carter de tondeuse.

VÉRIFICATION DE L’ENSEMBLE: Pressez les côtés de la moitié
inférieure du bac à gazon et vérifiez qu’il n’y a pas un écart entre
les moitiés supérieure et inférieure. Si un écart apparait, déver-
rouillez les pattes à séparer les moitiés de bac et répétez les
instructions au-dessus.

1. Installez premièrement un conteneur au côté à gauche avec
la décalcomanie d’avertissement à l’extérieur de l’élément.

le conteneur à gauche au soutien central.
2. Fermez le couvercle et verrouillez la poignée de loquet par-
