CONNECTING/DISCONNECTING BATTERY
AND BATTERY MAINTAINER CHARGING
CABLE
These instructions replace Connecting/Disconnecting Battery instructions in
your operator’s manual and quick reference guide.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of electrocution or explosion, do not short circuit the bat-
tery terminals or charge in a sealed container. Keep sparks and flame away.
WARNING:
Keep metal objects away from the battery terminals. Metal objects can make
a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals
together can cause sparks, burns, or a fire.
The battery cables must be connected before the electric start feature of the
generator can be operated. The battery maintainer charging cable should also
be installed at this time.
Connect the red wires to the positive (+) terminal first, then connect the black
wires to the negative (–) terminal. Make sure all connections are tight.
NOTE: Be careful not to short across the terminals when installing. Shorting
the terminals together can cause sparks, damage to the battery or generator,
or even burns or explosions.
Cover the terminals with the rubber covers.
When removing the battery for replacement: disconnect the negative
(black) post, then the positive (red) post, being careful not to short across
the terminals. Always abide by the safety warnings provided with the battery.
Remove the battery and dispose of according to local and state regulations.

Estas instrucciones remplazan a las instrucciones de Conexión y desconexión
la batería en el manual del operador y guía de referencia rápida.
ADVERTENCIA:
Para reducir el riesgo de electrocución o explosión, no cause cortocircuito
en las terminales de las baterías o realice la carga en un recipiente sellado.
Mantenga alejadas las chispas y las llamas.
ADVERTENCIA:
Guarde los objetos metálicos lejos de los terminales de la batería. Los objetos
metálicos puedan establecer conexión entre ambas terminales. Establecer
una conexión directa entre las dos terminales puede causar chispas,
quemaduras o incendios.
El cable de batería deben conectarse con la batería antes de que se ponga en
marcha la función arranque eléctrico. El cable de carga del mantenedor de carga
de la batería también deben instalarse en este momento.
Conecte los cables rojo con la terminal positiva (+) y los cables negro con la
terminal negativa (–). Asegúrese de que todas las conexiones estén firmes.
NOTA: Teniendo cuidado de no causar cortocircuito en las terminales. Un
cortocircuito al juntar las terminales puede causar chispas, daños a la batería
