Coloursmith Reader
Quick Start Guide
Welcome to your
Coloursmith Reader
With this nifty device you’ll soon
be on your way to capturing and
creating colours you love. Whether
you want to match an existing
colour in your home—or capture
colour from an object, image or
surface—it couldn’t be easier.
You’re only a few steps away...
so, let’s get started!
1. Download and Launch
–Grab your smartphone and
download the Coloursmith™
app through the App Store
or Google Play.
–Sign up or sign in with
your email address or
social media account.

2. Connect and Calibrate
–Select ‘Create from Match’ then
‘Connect Device’.
–Remove the cap, press the Wake
button on the base of the Reader.
The LED indicator will begin
to flash.
–Once your smartphone finds
the Reader (should only take a
few seconds) the light will flash
quickly. Press the Wake button
again to confirm the connection.
–Select ‘Calibrate’ in the
Coloursmith app and follow
the in-app instructions.
–You’re ready to go!
Quick Tips
If you experience any problems with the app,
simply delete and re-install.
If you experience any problems during connection,
simply reset the Reader by holding down the
Wake button for 15 seconds.
Low battery level might affect the accuracy
of the colour match.

3. Capture and Create
–Place the Reader directly onto
the colour you want to capture
and select ‘Match’.
–Confirm the details of your
captured colour.
–Give your colour a name.
After all, you created it!
Congratulations, you’re now
a bona fide Coloursmith!
Don’t forget, with the Coloursmith
app and Reader you can capture,
create and name as many colours
as you like. We can’t wait to see
what you do with them.

Quick Tip
Keep your reader in tip-top shape by keeping the
calibration tile safe and clean, and not leaving
the battery fully discharged for long periods of time.
