2 Device function and setup
2.1 Intended use
The ultrasonic transmitter DBT10 can be used to detect leaks at windows, doors, cabins,
climatic test cabinets, vehicles or containers. The ultrasonic transmitter sends signals in the
ultrasonic range. If it is positioned in a closed system to check for leaks, the signals pass
through unsealed points in the system outwards and can be detected there by the SONOCHEK
ultrasonic measuring device. Two levels of sound intensity can be selected.
Any use other than the intended use is prohibited and may lead to personal injury or physical
damage. PRUFTECHNIK is not liable for damage, also to third parties, caused by the improper
handling of the ultrasonic transmitter.

3 Startup and device operation
Injuries are possible!
High sound pressure levels can damage hearing. Do not hold the
transmitter directly up to your ears. Use hearing protection if necessary.
Device damage is possible!
Insert the batteries into the battery compartment as shown. The transmitter
can be damaged if the batteries are inserted incorrectly.
3.1 Insert batteries
Remove the battery compartment cover.
Insert the batteries (3 AA 1.5 V) into the battery compartment as shown. Close the battery
compartment again.
The transmitter is ready for operation.
Operation with the corresponding batteries is not provided.
3.2 Switching on and adjusting the ultrasonic transmitter
Switch the device on by pressing the touch button for about 3 seconds.
The lower LED signals the readiness for operation. The device emits ultrasonic waves.
The intensity can be adjusted during operation. Two levels are available, which are indicated by
the LEDs.
No.
Status
Upper LED
Strong intensity / louder
Lower LED
Weak intensity / quieter (default setting)
Flashing LEDs
Batteries need to be replaced
Change the intensity by pressing the touch button briefly.
The corresponding LED indicates the current sound intensity.
Switch off the device by pressing the touch button for about 3 seconds.

4 Cleaning, maintenance, troubleshooting and support
Injuries are possible!
An incorrect application of the ultrasonic transmitter DBT10 may pose a
hazard to the user.
Do not open the housing. The ultrasonic transmitter does not contain any
device parts to be cleaned, maintained or repaired by the user.
Device damage is possible!
Incorrect use of the ultrasonic transmitter DBT10 and its accessories may
lead to damage and, in the worst case, to the destruction of the device
technology.
The ultrasonic transmitter UT10 is not waterproof. Do not submerse the
device technology in liquids.
Protect the transmitter (especially the sound capsule) from penetrating
moisture, as otherwise damage cannot be ruled out.
Do not use any strongly corrosive or scratching cleaning agents.
Use damp cloths to clean the ultrasonic transmitter DBT10. Aggressive cleaning agents may
abrade the plastic housing and impair the mechanical stability.

5 Disposal
Electrical and electronic equipment may pose health and environmental risks if disposed of
improperly. For this reason, it must not be disposed of as general household trash according to
the WEEE directive 2012/19/EU (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive), but
rather must be handed over separately to designated collection points or sent back to the
manufacturer.
The following symbol on the device indicates the legal obligation to dispose of electronic
equipment at a separate disposal facility.
It be subjected to predefined recycling processes (e.g. with respect to the batteries or circuit
boards), which make safe, environmentally-friendly recycling or separate disposal of different
equipment components possible.
The return of old equipment is regulated differently by region. Check with the responsible public
body about the redemption conditions for commercially used electronic devices. The device and
the battery do not contain any substances that are hazardous to health and that must be labeled
separately with respect to disposal, such as mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) or
hexavalent chromium (e.g. in galvanized parts or circuit boards).
