Safety instructions
General safety
It is buyer`s responsibility to keep assembly and operational manual available for assembly workers,
electricians, maintenance and engineering technicians at any time. Incorrect assembly and/or
operation may lead to personal injury or damage to the equipment. It can also cause malfunctions
or a reduction in capacity.
Read the assembly and operational manual carefully before assembly, electrical connection,
maintenance or operation start. If any part of these instructions is not understandable, please get in
touch with seller for assistance.
The safety information presented and interpreted as follows:
WARNING!
Disregarding instructions given in warnings can cause serious personal injury or death.
Ignoring the instructions given may cause damage to the conveyor equipment.
Ensure that everyone responsible for assembly, electrical connection, maintenance and operation
of the conveyor has read and understood the instructions and safety information.
Use protective gloves, helmet, steel-toed boots, ear defenders, protective goggles and high
visibility vest when carrying out assembly, electrical connection, maintenance and operation of
conveyor.
You cannot stand or walk on the conveyor.

6
IMPORTANT!
For drive and tension section maintenance, whose supports are located at a height of more
than 1.8 m from the floor and rotating parts are located at a height more than 2.0 m from
the floor it is necessary to assemble service platform with handrail. The aisle for
maintenance should be at least 0.7 m wide.
Preco does not deliver conveyor supports. It is a customer responsibility to arrange
supports for the conveyor. Maximum distance between them should not exceed 6000 mm.
All rotating parts must be safely secured and protected. Do not operate with safety guards
re removed.
Electrical safety
WARNING!
Stop the conveyor and turn off electric power before attempting any type of assembly, electrical
connection or maintenance work.
Do not start the conveyor without the lid, hatches, covers, guards and connections fitted properly.
All electrical connections must be mounted properly and fully enclosed. Qualified electrician must
do work.
Forbidden conveyor use without grounding.
IMPORTANT!
If the conveyor assembled outdoors, it must be fitted with a weather cover for motor.
If a short circuit should occur, ensure that the electrical equipment is in working order before
continuing an operation.
Ensure that the electrical equipment kept free from dirt, dust, moisture and electrostatic charge.

7
Safety decals
Chain conveyor supplied with safety decals on delivery. It is a buyer`s responsibility to stick them on
the conveyor, as shown in the scheme (below).
1.
Read instruction carefully before use!
2.
High voltage! Electric shock risk
3.
Warning for rotating drum
4.
Warning for rotating drive shaft
5.
Electrical grounding (on the side of the
conveyor)
6.
Do not touch rollers while in operation

8
Technical description and specification
Flight conveyor manufactured from galvanized sheet metal (275 g/m2) in accordance with the
EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, EU Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC and designed in
accordance with EN ISO 12100 part 1-2 which guarantees machinery safety.
Intended for horizontal transportation of free flowing materials used in agricultural, food and
other industries. Conveyors are developed for daily, continuous and all year round operation, and
will fulfil most rigid requirements of the grain industry. Model give the following capacities based on
grain with 15 % moisture content, bulk density 750 kg/m3, at specified chain speed. Please notice
that every 1 % increase in moisture content above 15 % decreases capacity by 3-4 %.

Conveyor assembly
Please check that there is enough space for conveyor assembly. The conveyor can be
assembled directly in the place or assembled separately and then lifted in place. Find out location of
inlet and outlet before starting the assembly. Conveyor consists of tension section, intermediate
sections, bend section, drive section, chain, overloading membrane, inlet and outlet. As accessories,
we offer different type of inlets and outlets, weather cover for motor, reversible drive unit, shaft speed
monitor with cover, inline and lateral outlet slides.
Notice!
During assembly, make sure that the bolts are placed on the outside of conveyor with the nuts
placed on the inside of conveyor.
Bolt tightening need to be done according to maintenance instructions.

Tension section
Manufacturer delivers tension section completed and assembled. Fitted with threaded rods (1) for
chain tensioning.
Drive section
Drive section is complete with gearbox and motor (1), and fitted overloading membrane (2).
For motor maintenance and overloading membrane manual, please see the attached supplier
information.

13
Overloading membrane
Black arrow shows the place where overloading sensor MOLLET MFE-NN is assembled. It comes
assembled by Preco.
For overloading membrane manual instructions, please see the attached supplier information.
Bend section
Bend section is complete and assembled at Preco.
Connect bend section (4) to extension from one side and drive section (3) from over side, as shown
in picture below.

14
Top cover dismantling
Before you start to assemble tension section, intermediate sections and drive section, you
have to dismantle top covers (1), please see picture below. Dismantled bolts and nuts you will need
when top covers will be assembled back on to conveyor.
1. Top cover
2. Top connection plates
3. Bend connection plates (if applicable)
4. Side connection plates

15
Tension section, extensions and drive section
Standard extension length is 2.4 m, with inspection window fitted. The extensions are
available in four lengths: 0.3 m, 0.6 m, 1.2 m and 2.4 m. Combining these lengths will be possible
to extend conveyor at the needed length. Bend section is available in 15, 30 or 45 degrees.
Fit side and bottom connection plates to tension section. Bolt them together. Do the same
with intermediate sections and drive section, as shown in the picture below.
Connect tension section (1) with already assembled intermediate sections (2), already
assembled bend section (4) and drive section (3) using connection plates (5). Bolt them together with
bolts and nuts provided.
