OPTIMUM WIND CONDITIONS FOR BUTTERFLY
BUTTERFLY
FLIGHT INSTRUCTIONS:
-Tie flying line to Tow Loop.
-Have a friend stand about 75 ft. downwind from you and hold the kite with its head pointed towards the sky.
-As the wind catches the kite, signal your friend to release it while you bring in the line with long steady pulls.
-Slowly let out more line as the kite flies upward. RECOMMENDED LINE: 150 LB TEST LINE
Step 6:
Connect two Upper Spreader Rod halves at ferrule. Slide completed Upper Spreader Rod
through Spine Tensioning Loop so that Spine Tensioning Loop is between stoppers as
shown in diagram E. Insert ends of Upper Spreader Rod into connectors on Leading Edge
Rods. (Note: this will put Upper Spreader Rod under tension and cause It to bow)
(diagram E)
Step 7:
Adjust Tensioning Line (pre-attached at
connectors on Leading Edge Rods) to an
approximately 12" bow by sliding Line
Tensioner along line. (diagram E)
Step 8:
Carefully insert ends of Wingtip Shaping Rods
without Arrow Nocks into Wingtip Pockets.
Slide Wingtip Shaping Rods through pockets
up to Reinforced Stops. Hook Arrow Nocks on
other ends of Wingtip Shaping Rods onto
loops near pocket openings. (diagram F)
Step 9:
Undo daisy chain on bridle and attach flying
line to main tow loop. Your Butterfly is now
ready to fly!
