INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
BeforeUsingYourFreezer
Removethe exteriorand interiorpacking.
Checktobesureyouhaveallof thefollowingparts:
1StorageBasket
1InstructionManual
1PlasticScraper(optional)
Beforeconnecting thefreezertothe powersource,letitstanduprightforapproximately2hours.This
willreducethepossibilityof amalfunction inthecoolingsystemfromhandlingduring transportation.
Cleantheinteriorsurfacewithlukewarmwaterusing asoft cloth.
InstallingYourFreezer
This applianceisdesigned tobefree standingonly, andshould not be recessed orbuilt-in.
Placeyourfreezeronafloorthat isstrong enough tosupportthe freezerwhenit isfullyloaded.
Allow15cmof spacebetween theback and sidesofthe freezer,whichallowstheproperaircirculation.
Locatethe freezerawayfromdirectsunlightandsourcesofheat(stove,heater,radiator,etc.).Direct
sunlightmayaffectthe acryliccoating andheatsourcesmayincreaseelectricalconsumption.Extreme
coldambient temperaturesmayalsocausethefreezernottoperformproperly.
Avoidlocating the freezerinmoistareas.
Plugthe freezerintoan exclusive,properlyinstalled-groundedwalloutlet.Donotunderany
circumstancescutorremovethethird(ground)prong fromthepowercord.Anyquestionsconcerning
powerand/orgroundingshouldbedirectedtowardacertified electrician oranauthorizedservicecenter.
Afterpluggingthe applianceintoaalloutlet,allowthe unit tocooldownfor2~3hours beforeplacing
food inthe freezercompartment.
OPERATINGYOURFREEZER
TemperatureControl
Yourfreezerhasonecontrol forregulatingthetemperature.The temperaturecontrolislocatedonthe
lowerright hand corner.
The range ofthetemperaturecontrolisfromposition MIN,MAXand .Adjustthe temperature
controltothesettingthatbest suitsyourneeds.
Toturnthe freezeroff, turnthe temperaturecontrolto"OFF".
NOTE:
Turningthe temperaturecontrol to"OFF "position stopsthecooling cyclebutdoesnotshutoffthe
powertothefreezer.
If theunitisunplugged, lostpower, orturnedoff; youmustwait3to5minutesbeforerestarting the unit.
If youattempttorestartbeforethistimedelay,thefreezerwillnotstart.
Large amountsoffood willlowerthecooling efficiencyofthe appliance.
If youchoosetochange thethermostat setting,adjustthermostatcontrol byonenumericalincrementat
atime.Allowseveralhoursfortemperaturetostabilizebetweenadjustments.

The switchoverridesthethermostatand will makethe compressoroperatecontinuously,lowering the
cabinettemperaturestillfurtherthan thethermostatsetting.
Thisswitchisusedtofreezeunfrozenfood in appreciable quantities.
Whenloadingthe freezer,freezeonlythree poundsoffreshfoodpercubicfeetoffreezerspaceatone
time.
Distributepackagestobe frozen evenlythroughout thefreezer.
Itisnotnecessarytoadjust thethermostatsettingwhenusingthe FastFreezeswitch.
DefrostingYourFreezer
When? Forthe mostefficientoperationand minimumenergyconsumption,defrost thefreezerwhen
the froston thefreezerwallsisexcessiveor5to10mmthick.
Chooseatimewhenthestockoffrozen foodislow.

Removethe frozen foodfromthe freezerandplaceitinacoolertoprotectthefood.
Unplugthe freezer. ThePowerSupplylightshouldbe off(greenlightout).
Duringdefrosting,the icemeltsintothecabinet.
Removethe drain plugonthe insidefloorof thefreezerbypulling straight out.
Placeashallowpan outside drainoutlet.The defrostwaterwilldrain out.
Checkthe panoccasionallysothe waterdoesnot overflow.
Cleantheinteriorofthe freezer.
Replacethe plugontheinsidefloor.
Resetthethermostattodesired setting.
Allowthe cabinet tocoolforonehour.
Switchonthe FastFreezeforaminimumof 2hours.
Returnfoodtothefreezer.

Defrosting usuallytakesafewhours.Leavingthe dooropen will helpspeedthe process.Also,
pouring warmwater(notboiling)onthe ice/frost willhelpspeed melting.If you must useascraper-
pleaseusecaution -itisveryeasytodamage thefreezercompartment andvoidyourwarranty.
The FreezerCompartment
Thiscompartmentisdesignedforthelong-termstorage offrozen food.Storagetimeisup tothree
months.
The storage lifeoffrozenfoodsvariesandtherecommended storagetimeshouldnotbeexceeded.
The instructionsregarding thecareoffrozen foodsshould befollowed whendefrosting the freezer.
Pre-packed commerciallyfrozenfoodshouldbestoredin accordancewiththefrozenfoods
tmentorhomefreezer.
Placefrozen food intothefreezerasquicklyaspossible afterpurchase.If thereare instructionson the
packet,carefullyfollowtheseinstructionsregardingstorage times.
The freezerdoorissusceptibletobreaking duetoexcessiveicebuildup.Besuretodefrostwhenthe
icereaches5to10 mmthick.
Astoragebasketisprovidedforthe organizationofodd-shapeditems.Toreachotherpackagesin the

freezer,just slide the baskettooneside,orlift itout.
CARE ANDMAINTENANCE
CleaningYourFreezer
Upon installation of yournewappliance, itisrecommendedthatit be cleanedthoroughly.
Turnthe temperaturecontrolto"OFF", unplugthe freezer,removethefood andstoragebasket.
Washtheinsidewithadampwarmclothcontaining awaterandbakingsodasolution.Thesolution
shouldbeabout2tablespoonsofbaking soda toaquart of water.
Washthe storagebasketwithamild detergentsolution.
Besuretokeep thedoorgasket(seal)cleantokeep the unitrunningefficiently.
The outsideof the freezershouldbecleanedwithmild detergent andwarmwater.
Drytheinteriorandexteriorwithasoft cloth.
The condensercoilsshould bevacuumed whentheyaredustyordirty.
Itisrecommended thattheunit be cleanedeachtimeitisdefrosted tohelpkeeptheunitodorfreeand
runningefficiently.
VacationTime
Removeallthefood.
Unplugthe freezer.
Cleanthefreezer.
Leavethe dooropen slightlytoavoidpossibleformationof condensation,mold, orodors.
Useextremecaut

Securelytape downalllooseitemsinsideyourfreezer.
Removethe rollerstopreventdamage.
Tape thedoors shut.
Besurethe freezerstaysintheuprightpositionduring transportation.
EnergySavingTips
The freezershouldbe locatedin thecoolestareaoftheroom,awayfromheatproducing appliancesor
heatingducts, and outof thedirectsunlight.
Lethotfoodscooltoroomtemperaturebeforeplacing in thefreezer.Overloadingthefreezerforces
the compressortorun longer.Foodsthatfreezetooslowlymaylosequality,orspoil.
Besuretowrap foodsproperly,and wipecontainersdrybeforeplacingthemin thefreezer.Thiscuts
