Remote Control
1 LINE: External input selection. (TV > RGB > Video1 > Video2 > Video3
> S-Video > Component > DVI (Option) > PC)
2 POWER: Turns the TV on and off.
3 TV: Switches to TV mode.
4 SWAP: Exchanges the video signal source of the main screen and the PIP
window.
5 ON/OFF:Turns PIP on or off.

Connecting an Antenna or Cable without a Decoder box

Procedures for watching a Video over a VCR
1TurntheTVon,andselect‘VIDEO1’using theLINEbutton on
theremote control.
2If you have a second VCRand wish to copy cassette tape,
connect the source VCR to SCART1 and the target VCR to
SCART2so that you can redirect thesignal from SCART1 to
SCART2.
Connecting a Digital Audio System (Depend on the model)

TV to the DIGITAL IN jack of the Decoder or AV amplifier.

1Connectthe antenna cabletotheANTENNAIN terminal on
the back of your VCR.
2 Connect the VIDEO/AUDIO INPUT jacks of the TV and the
video/audiooutputjacksofyourVCRwiththe video/audio
cables.(Connectthe cable to theterminalofthesame color)
-You can use the S-Video cable to connect a VCR or a DVD
player for better video quality.
- If your VCR does not support stereo sound, connect the
mono audio out jack to the AUDIO INPUT (left) jack.

Turning the TV On and OFF
1Plugthemainslead into an appropriate socket.
2Pressthe POWERswitchonthebottomofthe televisiontoward“ON”(I).
3Press the POWER button on theremote control (or on the frontpanel of the unit.)
You can also switch on by pressingthePROG\//\buttons.
•Whenyou turn the power ON, the screen appears and thePOWER/STANDBYlightis turned off.
•When you turn the powerOFF,the screengoes blank,and the POWER/STANDBY lightturnsred.
•Do not leaveyour televisioninStandbymodeforlongperiodsoftime (when youareawayonholiday,for example).Turn
yourtelevisionoffbypressingthePOWERswitchtoward“OFF”(O).It isbest tounplugtheset from the mains and aerial.
Selecting the Menu Language

Adjusting the Volume

Muting the Sound
Pressthe MUTEbutton.YoucanconvenientlyusetheMUTEbuttonwhen atelephoneor a door bell rings.To cancel,pressthe
MUTEbuttonagain.
Viewing a Video, DVD or COMPONENT

Storing Channels Automatically
1 Press theTV.MENU button.The OSD MENU will be displayed.

3 Select AUTO PROGRAMMING using the /\ \/ button and then press the >
button.
4SelectCOUNTRY using the /\ \/ button and then press the > button.

Manual Storing of Channels
Whenstoringchannels manually,youcanchoose:
-Whether or not to store each of the channelsfound.
-Theprogramme number bywhichyouwish to identifyeachstoredchannel.
1 Press theTV.MENU button.The OSD MENU will be displayed.
2Select SETUP using the \/ /\ button and thenpressthe > button.
3 Select MANUAL PROGRAM using the \/ /\ button and then press the >
button.
4Select SYSTEM using the \/ /\ button andthenpress the > button.
AUTO > BG > DK > I > L > LP > AUTO
5Select PROGRAMNO.usingthe \//\button andthenpress the>button. And
pressthe\//\buttonto select the requiredchannel number.
6SelectSEARCH using the \/ /\ button and then press the>button.
Thetunescans the frequency range until the first channel on the channel that youselectedisreceived on your screen.
7Select STORE using the \/ /\ button andthenpress the > button. And press the \//\ button to select the OK.
8 Repeat Step 5 to 7 for each channel to be stored.

Activating the Child Lock
Thisfeatureallows you to preventunauthorizedusers,suchas children, fromwatchingunsuitableprogrammersby muting
outvideoand audio. Child Lockcannotbereleased using front panelbuttons.Onlyremote control can releasetheChildLock
setting,sokeep the remote control away from children.

3 Select MANUAL PROGRAM using the /\ \/ button and then press the >

4Select CHILD LOCK using the /\ \/ button andthen press the > button.

ActivatingtheChildUnlock
1-4STEP1~STEP4 is the same as that of Activating the Child Lock.
5Whenalogin dialog box appears, enter the password to deactivate the CHILD LOCK.
Note
• When child lock is activated, only entering the correct password will proceed to the operation
before you can do auto or manual searches. Everything previously locked will be unlocked.
Program Edit
Thisfunction enables you todelete,copy,moveor
skipthestoredprograms.

DeleteaProgram
1 Select a program to the deleted with the \/ /\ < > buttons.
2PresstheREDbutton.The selected program is deleted. All the following programs are shifted up one position.
Moving a Program
1 Select a program to the moved with the \/ /\ < > buttons.
2PresstheGREENbutton.
3 Move the program to the desired program number with the \/ /\ < > buttons.
4Pressthe GREEN button again to release this function.

Copy a Program
1 Select a program to the copied with the \/ /\ < > buttons.
2PresstheYELLOWbutton.Allthefollowingprograms are shifted down one position.
Skipping a Program Number
1 Select a program to the skipped with the /\ \/ < > buttons.
2PresstheBLUE button. The skipped program turns to Magenta.
3Press the BLUE button again to release thisfunction.
Whena program number is skipped itmeans that you will be unableto select it using the /\ \/button during normal TV
viewing.Ifyouwantto select the skipped program, directly enter program numberwiththenumberbuttonsorselectit in
theprogram edit or table menu.
Changing Channel
1UsingtheCHANNELbuttons
PressthePROG\//\buttons to change channels.
You will see all the channels that theTV has memorized.(TheTV must have memorized at least three channels.)
2UsingtheNUMBERbuttons
-To change tosingle-digitchannels(0~9)faster,press“0”beforethesingledigit.
Example:Forchannel 4,press“0”,then“4”.
-To select a channel over 10,press the -/— button first.
Example:Forchannel 42,press“-/—”,then“4”,then“2”.
3UsingthePrevious Channel
PressthePREbutton on the remote control.
TheTVchangedtothelastchannelsto the last channel you were watching.
When the Picture Quality is Poor or Unstable
Usefinetuningtoadjusta particular channelforbetterpicture quality when noiseinterferes,colorquality is poor,or the
screenisunstable.
1Selectthechanneltotuneusingthenumericorchannel buttons.
2 Press theTV.MENU button.The OSD MENU will be displayed.
3Select SETUP using the /\ \/ button and thenpressthe > button.
4 Select MANUAL PROGRAM using the /\ \/ button and then press the >
button.
5Select FINE TUNE using the /\ \/buttonand then press the > button.
6Press the /\ \/ button tofine tune and then press the >button.
Ifyou are unable to fine-tune a channel, checkthatthe SYSTEM settings are correct.
7Select STORE using the /\ \/ button andthenpress the > button. And press the /\\/button to select OK.
8Press the EXIT/CANCEL button to exit themenu.
Selecting the Picture Status
Youcanselect avideomodefrom among USER,STANDARD,DYNAMIC,orMILDmodeaccording toyourpersonal preference.

PictureStatus
•STANDARD:Selectthismodewhenthesurroundingillumination is bright.
•DYNAMIC:Selectthis mode to increase picture clarity and sharpness.
•MILD: Select this mode when viewing the TVwhenthe light is low.
•USER:Select this mode if you want to adjust the settingsaccordingto your personal preferences.
Adjusting the Picture Settings
1 Press theTV.MENU button.The OSD MENU will be displayed.
2SelectPICTURE using the /\ \/ button and then press the > button.
3Selectthe desired item to adjust using the /\ \/ buttonandthen press the
>button.
4Select the desired status using the <> button.
Duringtheadjustment,an additional adjustment window will bedisplayed.
Inaddition,PICTURE STATUSisautomaticallychanged toUSERmode.

•CONTRAST:Determinesthedifferenceinbrightnessbetweenanobjectandthebackground.
•BRIGHTNESS:Determines the brightness of the screen.
•SHARPNESS:Determinesthesharpnessofanobjectimage.
•COLOR:Determinesthecolor density.
Selecting the Sound Mode
Youcanselect asoundmodefrom among USER,STANDARD,MUSIC,orSPEECHmodeaccordingto yourpersonalpreference.

Whenever you press this button,SOUND STATUS changes to USER > STANDARD > MUSIC > SPEECH mode,in this order.

Determinesthe volume ratio between the leftand right speakers.

4Select the desired status using the <> button.

Adjusting the Headphone Volume
You canlistento the sound ofthemainorsubPIPusingtheheadphones.You
canalsoadjustthevolumeoftheheadphones.

2Select SOUND using the /\ \/ button and thenpress the > button.
3 Select HEADPHONE VOLUME using the /\ \/ button and then press the >
button.
4Select the desired volume level using the /\\/button.

Adjusting the EQUALIZER
Determinesthe volume of the frequency range (low tohigh tones).

4Movetothe desiredfrequencyusingthe >button.120(LowTone)>1K(Mid

5Select the desired status using the /\ \/ button.
Whenyouhave adjustedtheEQUALIZER,the SOUND STATUS is automatically
changedtoUSERMODE.
Choosing a Soundtrack
TheM/Sbuttondisplays/controlstheprocessingandoutputoftheaudiosignal.WhenpowerisswitchedON,themodeis
automaticallypresettoeither DUAL or STEREO, depending on the current transmission.
Quick! Pressing the M/S button.
Wheneveryoupress this button, themodechangestoSTEREO/MONO mode,
inthisorder.

leavingthesubtitlesvisible.
•PANORAMA:Usethismodeforthewideaspect ratio of

Note
• You can select only WIDE,NORMAL(4:3) screen size in the PC Mode.
Freezing the Picture
You can freezeamovingpicture on the screen.
Quick! Press the STILL button.
Wheneveryoupressthis button, the freezing function is turned on or off.
Note
• Even if the picture has been frozen, the audio sound continues normally.
• The freezing function will not work for the PIP window in PIP mode.
Viewing Picture-in-Picture
