HOW DOES YOUR WATER AND TEA COOKER
WORK
A high frequency induction coil located underneath the top plate from the
base heats the kettle by magnetic friction. The heat occurs directly within
the kettle metal bottom whereby no energy is lost between the hob and the
kettle. It’s controlled by an electronic circuit to offer superior performance
and functions. When you switch it off, the heating is stopped immediately.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• By ignoring the safety instructions the manufacturer can
not be hold responsible for the damage.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• Never move the appliance by pulling the cord and make
sure the cord can not become entangled.
• The appliance must be placed on a stable, level
surface.
• The user must not leave the device unattended while it is
connected to the supply.
• This appliance is only to be used for household purposes
and only for the purpose it is made for.
• This appliance shall not be used by children from 0
year to 8 years. This appliance can be used by children
aged from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance
in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance. Keep the
appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less
than 8 years. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be
made by children unless older than 8 and supervised.
• This appliance is intended to be used in household and

• Caution: Insure that the kettle is switched off before
removing it from its stand.
• WARNING: Position the lid so that steam is directed
away from the handle.
• To protect yourself against an electric shock, do not
immerse the cord, plug or appliance in the water or any
other liquid.
• Only use the appliance with the appropriate connector.
• Do not immerse the base in water or any other liquid.
• Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance
corresponds to the local mains voltage before you
connect the appliance.

• Do not coil the cord around the base during the process.
You can only winding the cord around for storing.
• Keep the main cord, the base and the kettle away from
hot surfaces.
• Do not place the appliance on an enclosed surface (e.g.
a serving tray), as this could cause water to accumulate
under the appliance, resulting in a hazardous situation.
• Hot water can cause serious burns. Be careful when the
kettle contains hot water.
• Do not touch the body of the kettle during and
some time after use, as it gets very hot. Always lift the
kettle by its handle.
• Never fill the kettle beyond the maximum level indication.
If the kettle has been overfilled, boiling water may be
ejected from the spout and cause scalding. Always fill the
kettle above the minimum level to prevent damage on
your kettle.
• Do not open the lid while the water is heating up or
boiling. Be careful when you open the lid immediately
after the water has boiled: the steam that comes out of
the kettle is very hot.
• This rapid-boil kettle can draw up to 16 amps from
the power supply in your home. Make sure that the
electrical system in your home and the circuit to which
the kettle is connected can cope with this level of power
consumption. Do not let too many other appliances draw
power from the same circuit while the kettle is being
used.
• Only use the kettle in combination with its original base.
• Do not connect the appliance to an external switching
device such as a timer and do not connect it to a circuit
that is regularly switched on and off by the utility. This
prevents a hazard that could be caused by inadvertent
resetting of the thermal cut-out.
• Always place the base and the kettle on a dry, flat and
stable surface.
• The kettle is only intended for boiling water and making
tea. Do not use it to heat up soup or other liquids or
jarred, bottled or tinned food.
• Never fill the kettle below the MIN 0.3L level to prevent it
from boiling dry.
• Depending on the hardness of the water in your area,
small spots may appear on the heating element of your
kettle when you use it. This phenomenon is the result of
scale build-up on the heating element and on the inside
of the kettle over time. The harder the water, the faster
scale builds up. Scale can occur in different colours.
Although scale is harmless, too much scale can influence
the performance of your kettle.
• Descale your kettle regularly by following the instructions
given in chapter ‘CLEANING + DESCALING’.
• Some condensation may appear on the base of the
kettle. This is perfectly normal and does not mean that
the kettle has any defects.
• Only to use with the related glass jar! Do not use another
jar/pot on this base!

BEFORE FIRST USE
Start
• Remove stickers, if any, from the base or the glass jar except for the
stickers at the bottom of the base.
• Place the base on a dry, flat and stable surface.
• Do not wind the cord round the reel in the base.
• Rinse the glass jar with water.
• Fill the water & tea cooker with water up to the maximum level and let
the water boil once. See chapter ‘USING THE APPLIANCE’.
• Pour out the hot water and repeat that process once more.
• After that, the water & tea cooker is ready to use.
USING THE WATER & TEA COOKER (FIGURE 2.)
Put the plug into the wall socket.
Fill water & tea cooker with water through lid
To fill the water & tea cooker with water, you first have to open the inner lid
by turning it anti clockwise. You can also remove the inner lid or the whole
lid but this is not necessary.
IMPORTANT (Figure 3.):
• Always fill the water & tea cooker between the 0.3L minimum (MIN) and
1.5L maximum (MAX) marks on the water gauge.
• Too little water will result in the water & tea cooker switching OFF before
the water has boiled. Filling above maximum (MAX) mark may result in
boiling water splashing from the water & tea cooker.
Fill with the desired amount of water.
IMPORTANT:
• The energy consumption of the appliances can be optimized by heating
only as much water as is actually needed.
• Close the lid before you switch on the water & tea cooker.

WITHOUT KEEP WARM FUNCTION
Switch on
Press the POWER button to switch the water & tea cooker on.
(You can always switch off the kettle by pressing the power
button again). All icons light up together with an acoustic
signal.
Temperature
Turn the ROTATABLE button to the desired temperature.
Only the chosen temperature lights up.
Activate process
In case you do not want a KEEP WARM function after
reaching the temperature: Press the START button to
activate the heating process.
Reached temperature
When the chosen temperature is reached, an acoustic
signal sounds up 3 times.
Keep warm function later
You have 90 seconds to activate the KEEP WARM function.
Otherwise the appliance switch off automatically and gives
an acoustic signal.
Keep warm process
In case you pressed the KEEP WARM function (you can
also activate it during the heating process): The keep warm
process starts for 30 minutes and the keep warm icon lights
up.
Remove the glass jar
When you remove the glass jar from the base for more then
90 seconds, the base automatically switch off.
Keep warm for 30 minutes
If you do not remove the glass jar, the keep warm process
stops automatically after 30 minutes.

WITH KEEP WARM FUNCTION
Switch on
Press the POWER button to switch the water & tea cooker
on. (You can always switch off the kettle by pressing the
power button again). All icons light up together with an
acoustic signal.
Temperature
Turn the ROTATABLE button to the desired temperature.
Only the chosen temperature lights up.
Activate keep warm + start
Press the KEEP WARM button to start the keep warm
process automatically after the temperature is reached. The
heating process starts automatically.
The KEEP WARM icon is flashing till the keep warm
process starts.
Reached temperature + keep warm process
When the chosen temperature is reached, an acoustic signal
sounds up 3 times. The keep warm process starts for 30
minutes and the keep warm icon lights up constantly.
Remove the glass jar
When you remove the glass jar from the base for more then
90 seconds, the base automatically switch off.
Keep warm for 30 minutes
If you do not remove the glass jar, the keep warm process
stops automatically after 30 minutes.
ACTIVATE A PROCESS, REACHED TEMPERATURE, KEEP WARM
FUNCTION + SWITCH OFF always gives an acoustic signal.
You can always switch off the base during the process by pressing
the on/off button.
IMPORTANT:
Pour out the excess water after heating in order to avoid excessive
calcification.
MAKING TEA
Tea varieties are grown and produced in different environments and
require specific water temperatures and controlled brew times to allow
their unique flavour and aroma to develop during brewing. Boiled water
is not considered good for making many tea types as the boiling process
removes oxygen, making the water stale. To bring out the optimal quality
and taste of more delicate tea leaves such as green, oolong and white tea,
a lower temperature will produce a better flavoured cup of tea while boiling
water may scald the tea leaves and result in a bitter, astringent brew.
The Water & tea cooker is for all types of tea, water temperatures and brew
times, eliminating the guesswork so you can enjoy a perfect cup of tea,
every time.
Fill the tea sieve (Figure 5.)
Remove the tea sieve to fill and place it back in the glass jar.

Water temperature
Notice: Too long steeping time can result in more bitterness and a less
balanced flavour. We recommend experimenting to find your best personal
taste. Japanese green teas generally taste best at 1 - 2 minutes while
Chinese green teas (bigger leaves) seem to prefer 2 - 3 minutes.

USING THE WATER & TEA COOKER
Place on table (Figure 6.)
You can place the glass jar without base directly on the table to have fresh
tea where you need it.
Do not touch the metal bottom (Figure 7.)
Do not touch the metal bottom from the glass jar in case that is it still hot.
The ring keeps the distance to the table, so you are able to place the glass
jar directly on the table.
CLEANING + DESCALING
IMPORTANT:
Clean your appliance frequently to avoid calcification and to
guarantee a long life with low energy consumption.
Cleaning the base
• Unplug the appliance first.
• Clean the outside of the induction base with a soft cloth moistened with
warm water and some mild cleaning agent.
• Do not use chemicals, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners to clean the
inside or outside of the glass jar as these may scratch the surface.
Cleaning + descaling the glass jar (Figure 8.)
• Cleaning is an inherent part of maintenance of the equipment because
the mineral deposits, especially from hard water cause scaling which
gradually slow down the process of heating.
• Scale is not harmful to your health but it may give your drink a powdery
taste. The filter spout prevents scale particles from ending up in your drink.
• The glass jar is dish washer safe. Put it upside down into a dish washer.
Place the lid separate in the dish washer to descale the filter spout.

Cleaning by hand (Figure 9.)
You can easily clean the glass jar by hand. Remove the whole lid to reach
the whole inner part of the jar.
Storage
Ensure the base is switched off, clean and dry before storing. Ensure the lid
is closed and locked securely into place. Stand the jar upright on the power
base. Do not store anything on top.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If your induction range seems to be working improperly, it doesn’t
necessarily mean it’s faulty. In all cases, check the following points:

on
There is a connection problem. Check if
the plug is inserted into the wall socket.
In case of overheating, the kettle will
automatically shut down to prevent further
damage, let the kettle cool down and try
again.
Water & tea cooker switch off

There is a boil-dry protection against
overheating. The water should always be
filled above the MIN level. If the boil-dry
protection is activated, wait until the
water & tea cooker is cooled down and
try again.
My tea tastes too weak or too strong Tea taste is a personal preference and
may require experimentation to get it
to your liking. For stronger tasting tea,
increase the amount of tea or brew time.
For a weaker tasting tea, decrease the
amount of tea or brew time and always
check if you use the correct temperature.

HOE WERKT UW WATER & TEA COOKER
Een hoge frequentie inductiespoel onder de bovenplaat van de basis
verwarmt de water & tea cooker door middel van magnetische wrijving. De
hitte vindt direct in de metalen bodem van de water & tea cooker plaats,
waarbij geen energie verloren gaat tussen de kookplaat en de water &
tea cooker. Het wordt door een elektronische schakeling geregeld om
superieure prestaties en functies te bieden. Wanneer u het uitschakelt,
wordt de verwarming onmiddellijk gestopt.
BELANGRIJKE VEILIGHEIDSINSTRUCTIES
• Door niet-naleving van de veiligheidinstructies kan de
fabrikant niet verantwoordelijk worden gehouden voor de
schade.
• Als het netsnoer beschadigd is, moet deze door
de fabrikant, zijn vertegenwoordiger, of door een
vergelijkbaar bevoegde persoon worden vervangen, om

• Dompel de basis niet in water of andere vloeistoffen onder.
• Controleer of de spanning aangegeven op het apparaat
overeenkomt met de lokale netspanning voordat u het
apparaat aansluit.
• Wikkel het snoer niet rond de basis tijdens het proces.
U mag alleen het snoer er omheen wikkelen voor het
opbergen.
• Houd het netsnoer, de basis en de water & tea cooker uit
de buurt van hete oppervlakken.
• Zet het apparaat niet op een oppervlak met een omsloten
opstaande rand (bijvoorbeeld een dienblad), omdat dit
ertoe kan leiden dat water zich verzamelt onder het
toestel, wat tot een gevaarlijke situatie leidt.
• Heet water kan ernstige brandwonden veroorzaken.
Wees voorzichtig wanneer de water & tea cooker heet
water bevat.
• Raak het lichaam van de water & tea cooker niet
aan tijdens en enige tijd na gebruik, omdat het erg heet
wordt. Til de water & tea cooker altijd aan het handvat
op.
• Vul de water & tea cooker nooit boven de maximale
niveau-indicatie. Als de water & tea cooker te vol is
gevuld, kan kokend water uit de tuit worden geworpen
en brandwonden veroorzaken. Vul de water & tea cooker
altijd boven de minimale niveau-indicatie om schade aan
uw water & tea cooker te voorkomen.
• Open nooit het deksel terwijl het water opwarmt of kookt.
Wees voorzichtig met het openen van het deksel direct
nadat het water heeft gekookt: de stoom die uit de water
& tea cooker komt is erg heet.
• Deze snelkoker kan maximaal 16 ampère trekken van
de stroomvoorziening in uw woning. Zorg ervoor dat de
elektrische installatie in uw woning en de groep waarop
de water & tea cooker is aangesloten een dergelijke
stroombelasting aankan. Laat niet te veel andere
apparaten op dezelfde groep stroom verbruiken terwijl
de water & tea cooker wordt gebruikt.
• Gebruik de water & tea cooker alleen met de originele
basis.
• Sluit het toestel niet aan op een extern schakelapparaat
zoals een timer en sluit het niet aan op een groep
die door de voorziening regelmatig wordt in- en
uitgeschakeld. Hiermee voorkomt u een gevaar dat kan
worden veroorzaakt door onbedoeld resetten van de
thermische beveiliging.
• Plaats altijd de basis en de water & tea cooker op een
droge, vlakke en stabiele ondergrond.
• De water & tea cooker is alleen bedoeld voor het koken
van water en het zetten van thee. Gebruik het niet om
soep of andere vloeistoffen of voedsel in potten, flessen
of blik op te warmen.
• Vul de water & tea cooker nooit onder het “MIN 0,3 L”-
niveau om te voorkomen dat het droog kookt.
• Afhankelijk van de hardheid van het water in
uw omgeving, kunnen kleine vlekken op het
verwarmingselement van uw water & tea cooker
verschijnen wanneer u het gebruikt. Dit verschijnsel is het
resultaat van kalkaanslag op het verwarmingselement en
aan de binnenkant van de water & tea cooker na verloop
van tijd. Hoe harder het water, des sneller de kalkaanslag
zal toenemen. Kalkaanslag kan in verschillende kleuren

voorkomen. Hoewel kalkaanslag onschadelijk is, kan
teveel kalkaanslag de prestaties van uw water & tea
cooker beïnvloeden.
• Ontkalk uw water & tea cooker regelmatig door de
instructies in het hoofdstuk “REINIGING + ONTKALKEN”
te volgen.
• Enige condensatie kan op basis van de water & tea
cooker verschijnen. Dit is volkomen normaal en betekent
niet dat de water & tea cooker defect is.
• Alleen te gebruiken met de bijbehorende glazen kan!
Gebruik geen andere kan/pot op deze basis!
VÓÓR HET EERSTE GEBRUIK
Starten
• Verwijder eventuele stickers van de basis of glazen kan, met
uitzondering van de stickers aan de onderkant van de basis.
• Plaats de basis op een droge, vlakke en stabiele ondergrond.
• Wikkel het snoer niet gedeeltelijk rond de haspel in de basis.
• Spoel de glazen kan met water af.
• Vul de water & tea cooker met water tot het maximum niveau en laat het
water eenmaal koken. Zie hoofdstuk “HET APPARAAT GEBRUIKEN”.
• Giet het hete water eruit en herhaal het proces nog een keer.
• Daarna is de water & tea cooker klaar voor gebruik.
HET APPARAAT GEBRUIKEN (FIGUUR 2.)
Steek de stekker in het stopcontact.
Vul de water & tea cooker met water door het deksel
Om de water & tea cooker met water te vullen, moet u eerst het
binnendeksel openen door het linksom te draaien. U kunt ook het
binnendeksel of het gehele deksel verwijderen maar dit is niet noodzakelijk.
BELANGRIJK (Figuur 3.):
• Vul altijd de water & tea cooker tussen de 0,3 L minimum (MIN) en 1,5
L maximum (MAX.) markeringen op de waterschaal.
• Te weinig water zal ertoe leiden dat de water & tea cooker uitschakelt
voordat het water heeft gekookt. Vullen boven de maximum (MAX)
markering kan ertoe leiden dat kokend water uit de water & tea cooker
spat.
Vul met de gewenste hoeveelheid water.
BELANGRIJK:
• Het energieverbruik van het apparaat kan worden geoptimaliseerd door
alleen de hoeveelheid water te koken die echt nodig is.
• Sluit het deksel voordat de water & tea cooker inschakelt.

FUNCTIES VAN DE KNOPPEN ZONDER WARMHOUDFUNCTIE
Inschakelen
Druk op de AAN/UIT-knop om de water & tea cooker aan te
zetten. (U kunt altijd de koker uitschakelen door nogmaals
op de AAN/UIT-knop te drukken). Alle pictogrammen zullen
oplichten samen met een geluidssignaal.
Temperatuur
Draai de draaiknop naar de gewenste temperatuur.
Alleen de gekozen temperatuur zal oplichten.
Het proces starten
In het geval dat u geen warmhoudfunctie wilt na het bereiken
van de temperatuur: Druk op de START-knop om het
opwarmproces te activeren.
Bereikte temperatuur
Wanneer de gekozen temperatuur wordt bereikt, zal er 3
keer een geluidsignaal te horen zijn.
Warmhoudfunctie
U hebt 90 seconden om de warmhoudfunctie te activeren.
Anders zal het toestel automatisch uitschakelen en een
akoestisch signaal afgeven.
Warmhoudproces
In het geval dat u de warmhoudfunctie activeert (u
kunt het ook activeren tijdens het verwarmingsproces):
Het warmhoudproces start voor 30 minuten en het
warmhoudpictogram zal oplichten.

De glazen kan verwijderen
Wanneer u de glazen kan langer dan 90 seconden van de
basis verwijdert, schakelt de basis automatisch uit.
Warmhouden voor 30 minuten
Als u de glazen kan niet verwijdert, zal het warmhoudproces
na 30 minuten automatisch stoppen.
MET WARMHOUDFUNCTIE
Inschakelen
Druk op de AAN/UIT-knop om de water & tea cooker aan
te zetten. (U kunt altijd de water & tea cooker uitschakelen
door nogmaals op de AAN/UIT-knop te drukken). Alle
pictogrammen zullen oplichten samen met een geluidssignaal.
Temperatuur
Draai de draaiknop naar de gewenste temperatuur.
Alleen de gekozen temperatuur zal oplichten.
Warmhouden activeren + starten
Druk op de WARMHOUD-knop om het warmhoudproces
automatisch te starten nadat de temperatuur wordt bereikt.

Het warmhoudpictogram knippert tot het warmhoudproces
start.

Wanneer de gekozen temperatuur wordt bereikt, zal er 3 keer
een geluidsignaal te horen zijn. Het warmhoudproces start voor
30 minuten en het warmhoudpictogram zal continu oplichten.

U kunt de basis altijd tijdens het proces uitschakelen door op de aan/
uit-knop te drukken.
BELANGRIJK:
Giet het overtollige water na het verwarmen eruit om overmatige
kalkaanslag te voorkomen.

THEE ZETTEN
Theesoorten worden geteeld en geproduceerd in verschillende omgevingen
en vereisen specifieke watertemperaturen en gecontroleerde tijden voor
het trekken om hun unieke smaak en aroma tijdens het trekken te laten
ontwikkelen. Gekookt water wordt niet beschouwd als goed voor het
zetten van veel theesoorten omdat het kookproces zuurstof verwijdert,
waardoor het water muf wordt. Om de optimale kwaliteit en smaak van
meer fijnere theebladeren zoals groene, oolong en witte thee te voorschijn
te toveren, zal een lagere temperatuur een beter op smaak gebrachte kopje
thee produceren terwijl kokend water de theeblaadjes kan schroeien en in
een bitter, bloedstelpend brouwsel kan resulteren.
De water & tea cooker is geschikt voor alle soorten thee,
watertemperaturen en zettijden, waardoor giswerk wordt weggenomen,
zodat u elke keer van een perfect kopje thee kunt genieten.
De theezeef vullen (Figuur 5.)
Verwijder de theezeef om het te vullen en plaats het terug in de glazen kan.
Watertemperatuur
Opmerking: Te lang trekken kan resulteren in meer bitterheid en een
minder evenwichtige smaak. Wij adviseren om te experimenteren om uw
beste persoonlijke smaak te vinden. Japanse groene thee smaakt in het
algemeen het beste bij 1-2 minuten, terwijl Chinese groene thee (grotere
bladeren) 2-3 minuten de voorkeur lijkt te hebben.

DE WATER & TEA COOKER GEBRUIKEN
Op tafel plaatsen (Figuur 6.)
U kunt de glazen kan zonder basis direct op de tafel plaatsen om verse
thee te hebben waar je het nodig hebt.
Raak niet de metalen bodem aan (Figuur 7.)
Raak niet de metalen onderkant van de glazen kan aan voor het geval dat
het nog steeds heet is. De ring houdt de afstand tot de tafel, waardoor u de
glazen kan wel direct op tafel kunt plaatsen.
REINIGING + ONTKALKEN
BELANGRIJK:
Reinig uw toestel regelmatig om kalkafzetting te voorkomen en een
lange levensduur met een laag energieverbruik te garanderen.
De basis schoonmaken
• Haal eerst de stekker van het apparaat uit het stopcontact.
• Reinig de buitenkant van de basis met een zachte doek, bevochtigd
met warm water en een mild reinigingsmiddel.
• Gebruik geen chemicaliën, staalwol of schurende reinigingsmiddelen
om de binnen- of buitenkant van de glazen kan schoon te maken
omdat dit het oppervlak kan krassen.
De glazen kan reinigen + ontkalken (Figuur 8.)
• Schoonmaken is een wezenlijk onderdeel van het onderhoud van de
apparatuur omdat de minerale afzettingen, vooral van hard water,
kalkaanslag veroorzaken die geleidelijk het verwarmingsproces vertragen.
• Kalkaanslag is niet schadelijk voor uw gezondheid, maar het kan uw
drankje een poederachtige smaak geven. De filtertuit voorkomt dat
deeltjes kalkaanslag in uw drank terechtkomen.
• De glazen kan is afwasmachinebestendig. Zet het ondersteboven in een
afwasmachine. Plaats het deksel afzonderlijk in de afwasmachine om
de filtertuit te ontkalken.
Reinigen in de afwasmachine
De glazen kan is afwasmachinebestendig. Zet het ondersteboven in een
afwasmachine. Plaats het deksel afzonderlijk in de afwasmachine om de
filtertuit te ontkalken.
Reinigen met de hand (Figuur 9.)
U kunt gemakkelijk de glazen kan met de hand schoonmaken. Verwijder
het gehele deksel om de binnenzijde van de glazen kan te bereiken.
Opslag
Zorg ervoor dat de basis is uitgeschakeld, schoon en droog is voordat
u het opbergt. Zorg ervoor dat het deksel is gesloten en veilig op zijn
plaats vergrendeld is. Plaats de glazen kan op de voedingsbasis. Plaats
er niets bovenop.

PROBLEMEN OPLOSSEN
Als uw inductie water & tea cooker niet juist lijkt te werken, dat betekent niet
noodzakelijkerwijs dat het defect is. Controleer in alle gevallen de volgende
punten:

Er is een verbindingsprobleem. Controleer of de
stekker in het stopcontact is gestoken.
In het geval van oververhitting, zal de water & tea
cooker automatisch uitschakelen om verdere
schade te voorkomen, laat de water & tea
cooker afkoelen en probeer het opnieuw.
De water & tea cooker schakelt
automatisch uit
Er is een droogkookbeveiliging om oververhitting
te voorkomen. Het water moet altijd boven
het MIN-niveau worden gevuld. Als de
droogkookbeveiliging wordt geactiveerd, wacht
dan tot de water & tea cooker is afgekoeld en
probeer het opnieuw.
Mijn thee smaakt te zwak of
te sterk
Theesmaak is een persoonlijke voorkeur en is
het wellicht nodig om ermee te experimenteren
om uw eigen smaak te krijgen. Voor sterker
smakende thee, verhoog de hoeveelheid thee
of zettijd. Voor een zwakker smakende thee,
verminder de hoeveelheid thee of zettijd en
controleer altijd of u de juiste temperatuur gebruikt.
