SAFESTOP VEHICLE ANTI-THEFT
SS0005 - Universal Module Hardwire Instructions
WARNING! This unit cannot be used in vehicles with an ignition system that uses over 20
amps!
I. Disconnect battery!
II. Remove steering column cover underneath steering wheel to allow access to the ignition
wires. The ignition wires can be found behind the key switch.
III. Ignition wire setup (may have to look up ignition wires for vehicle make/model).
A. Locate Ignition Wires (These show +12V with the key in the On/Run position).
B. Locate Ignition Accessory Wires (These show +12V with the key in the On/Acc position in
combination with the accessory being activated).
C. Locate a battery source that can handle an additional 20A circuit. The Safestop unit
does NOT require an inline fuse, as it is internally fused.
IV. Making connections from Safestop to OEM wires. All connections should be soldered and
protected/covered using heat shrink or electrical tape tubing.
A. Cut the Ignition 1 wire in half and solder the the WHT/BLK wire from the Safestop unit into
the Ignition 1 wire that leads towards the key switch. Solder the YEL wire from the Safestop
unit into the other side of the Ignition 1 wire that leads back towards the main harness of the
vehicle.
B. Cut the Ignition 2 wire in half and solder the the YEL/WHT wire from the Safestop unit into
the Ignition 2 wire that leads towards the key switch. Solder the GRN wire from the Safestop
unit into the other side of the Ignition 2 wire that leads back towards the main harness of the
vehicle.
C. Cut the Ignition 3 wire in half and solder the the ORG wire from the Safestop unit into the
Ignition 3 wire that leads towards the key switch. Solder the WHT wire from the Safestop
unit into the other side of the Ignition 3 wire that leads back towards the main harness of the
vehicle.
D. Some vehicles may have up to four ignition wires. If this is the case, the BLU/WHT and BLU
wires on the Safestop unit can be used to splice a fourth ignition wire or to power additional
vehicle accessories. The YEL/BLK and YEL wires on the Safestop unit can also be used to
power additional vehicle accessories.
V. Powering the Safestop unit.
A. Locate the RED wire on the Safestop unit, and attach it to a +12V Battery source, making
sure that the source is fused at 15 Amps.
