this product produces large amounts of steam. Avoid reaching

This appliance is intended for household use only.
WARNING! Shock Hazard: This appliance has a polarized plug (one
wide blade) that reduces the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only
one way into a polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of
the plug by modifying the plug in any way or using an adapter. If the
plug does not fit, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an
electrician replace the outlet.
The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce
the hazards of becoming tangled in, or tripping over a longer cord. If a
longer cord is necessary an approved extension cord may be used. The
electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the
rating of the appliance. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord
so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be
pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over.

To Cook Rice
Before First Use: Wash cooking pot and lid.
Standard proportions for cooking rice are 2 parts water to
1 part rice. Amounts of water can be adjusted to personal
preference.
• For moister rice, use more water.
• For firmer rice, use less water.
1. Determine amount of cooked rice needed. Using cooking
chart, add recommended measures of rice and water to
cooking pot. Do not exceed max fill line.
2. Carefully place cooking pot straight down in base. ake sure
cooking pot is securely SEATED into base by rotating the pot
left and right.
NOTE: ake sure bottom of cooking pot is not bent or warped
or it will not conduct heat correctly.
3. Place lid on cooking pot. Plug cord into outlet. The WAR
indicator light will come on BUT UNIT IS NOT COOKING.
4. Push the cook switch DOWN to start cooking. The COOK
indicator light will come on.
5. The rice will be done according to the time listed on Cooking
Chart. The WAR indicator light will come on when the rice is
finished cooking. This feature will keep the rice warm until the
unit is unplugged.
6. Use the rice paddle to scoop out the cooked rice. When fin-
ished, unplug from outlet.

Only cook in the cooking pot.

*Rice Cooker Cooking Time (approximate). Rice cooker will switch
to WAR after cooking time, indicating rice is cooked.

NOTE: When cooking a half pot or less or rice, bubbling/overflow
of liquid can be minimized by reducing water by about one-third.

Cleaning the Rice Cooker
1. Unplug cord from wall outlet.
2. Wash cooking pot, lid, plastic measure and paddle in hot,
soapy water. Do not bend or warp bottom of cooking pot.
3. Rinse, dry and reassemble to store.
4. Wipe base with a soft, damp cloth, or a scrub pad safe
for all surfaces. Do not clean with abrasive cleansers.
