AC3 Electronics
Replacement Guide
for ActivBoard 100, 300
& 300 Pro Systems

Remove the two cables from the side of the
electronics box on the back of the ActivBoard.
    ﹙     ﹚
Note:  e ActivBoard electronics are located behind the top left hand corner of the board as viewed
from the front. In order to replace the electronics, you will need access to this location.
You will also need a small Pozi type screwdriver to replace the electronics.
Before beginning the process below, ensure that your computer and/or ActivBoard System has
been powered down correctly, and is no longer connected to the mains power supply, or to the
computer via the USB cable.
ATTENTION
Observe precautions for handling ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE SENSITIVE DEVICES.
 
Remove the USB cable (and the DC Power
cable if using ActivBoard  Pro) from the
underside of the electronics.

Ensure no cables are now connected into the
electronics box.
 
Using the small Pozi type screwdriver,
remove the  screws on the left hand side of
the electronics box.
 
Remove the two screws on the right hand
side of the electronics box.
 
Remove the plastic casing, exposing the ()
Four Port Hub (on ActivBoard  and 
Pro only) and () electronics on the back of
the ActivBoard.

If using an ActivBoard , go to step . If using
a  or  Pro ActivBoard, gently remove the
small ribbon cable connected to the Four Port
Hub and electronics.
**N.B. is ribbon cable must be retained**
 
Gently remove the large ribbon cable
connecting the electronics to the ActivBoard.
 
Remove the two screws connecting the
electronics to the ActivBoard.

Lift the electronics from the
ActivBoard.
**N.B. Remember to remove the ribbon
cable, as this may be required when you
receive the replacement set of electronics**

N.B. At this point, it is recommended you
discharge any static electricity by touching a
metal object, or use an earth strap.
Remove the replacement set of electronics
from the anti-static bag.
 
Fit the new ActivBoard electronics onto the two
holding pins in either corner of the holding grid.
 
Screw in the  screws in either corner that were
removed earlier.
 
Connect the large ribbon cable to
the ActivBoard electronics.

 
If using an ActivBoard , go to step .
Connect the small ribbon cable from the
electronics onto the Four Port Hub.
 
Fit the electronics casing, and screw
in the  screws.
 
Connect the USB cable (and DC Power
Cable if using ActivBoard  Pro) to the
underside of the electronics.
 
Connect the two USB cables to the left hand side
of the electronics box.
Your ActivBoard electronics have now been
replaced. To check that the replacement
electronics have resolved your problem,
connect the ActivBoard to the computer,
and use.
