1.4 SIMCard
TheProrouteH685hasaremovablepanelonthereverseoftheunitwhichissecuredby2
screws.ToinstalltheSIMremovethepanel,inserttheSIMcard,whichcanonlybeplacedone
way,intotoholderandpushtheholderdownintopositionensuringthatithasproperlymade
contact.Ifanyforceisneededthenthereissomethingwrong;recheckyouhavetheSIM
orientationcorrect.
NOTE:
NEVERINSERTTHESIMCARDWHENTHEPOWERISSWITCHEDONORYOUMAYPERMANENTLY
DAMAGETHEUNIT
1.5 TerminalBlock
The Proroute H685has2optionsforconnectingapowersupply,viathemains
powerAC/DCadapterprovidedwiththeunitorviathedesignatedpinsonthe
connectorprovided.Theconnectorcanalsobeusedtoresettheunitorconnectdata:
14~24AWGisrecommended.Pleaserefertothetable2‐4fortheinterfacedefinition
ofthepowercableandconnectionsequence.
Itisrecommendedthattheconnectionstotheconnectorblockbemadewhenthe
blockisremovedfromtheunittopreventprovidingintermittentpowertotheunit
duringinstall.Whenallwiresaresecuredtheconnectorcanbeplacedintoposition

Toensureasafe,stableandreliableoperationtheRoutermustbegroundedproperly.
1.7 Powersupply
ProrouteH685isdesignedtooperateincomplexenvironmentswherethepowerrangecanbe
verylarge.Toimprovethestabilityofthesystem,Prorouteincorporatesadvancedpower
managementtechnology.However,theDCpowersupplystillneedscarefulattentionandclear
understandingastothebehaviourofthesupply.Oncethelevelshavebeenestablishedand
testeditisalwaysbesttokeeptheminthistestedrangefordevicestability.
Proroute input power supply is +7~+ 30V, the standard configuration is 12V/1A.
1.8 LEDFunctions
AftertheAntennaandPowerareconnectedinsertavalidSIMcardandpowerontheProtoute
seriesfollowingtheinstructionsprovidedpreviously.Duringthestart‐upsequencetheSYSLED
willblinkforafewseconds,thisindicatesthesystemstart‐upisnormal;followingthisifthe
CELLLEDflashesandthenremainsonconstantlythisindicatesthenetworkisonline;iftheVPN
lightisonconstantly,thisindicatestheVPNtunnelhasbeensetup.Thetablebelow
