Safe Use Summary
HEALTH & SAFETY WARNINGS:
WARNING: All users of the Freey VR headset should read these instrucons
carefully before using the headset. Failure to follow these instrucons may result
in serious injury. Save these instrucons.
Suitability
Virtual reality is not suitable for everyone. Use of virtual reality equipment can cause dizzi-
ness, disorientaon and other symptoms. If you have any doubt whether it is safe for you to
use virtual reality products, please consult your doctor.
In general, use of the Freey VR is NOT SUITABLE for those who are pregnant, have high
blood pressure, suer from moon sickness, inner ear infecons or claustrophobia, had any
form of recent surgery, pre-exisng binocular vision abnormalies, heart condions, psy-
chosis or epilepc symptoms or aacks or any other physiological or psychological disorder
which may trigger any dangerous emoons, behaviour or aacks resulng in structural
damage, physical damage or death.
You should CONSULT A DOCTOR before using the Freey VR if:
You have ever had, or currently live with, symptoms of epilepsy such as severe dizziness,
blackouts, seizures or loss of awareness should see a doctor before using the Freey VR. The
content viewed through the Freey VR may include ashing images and repeve sequences,
which could cause seizures, even in those who have never experienced seizures in the past;
or if you wear an implanted medical device such as a pacemaker, as the smartphone used in-
side may emit radio waves which could interfere with the normal operaons of such devices.
Minors
It is the responsibility of an adult supervisor to monitor use of the Freey VR by children
(age 14-18). The Freey VR is not recommended for use below the age of 14 due to possible
impacts on hand-eye coordinaon, balance and mul-tasking ability. The Freey VR has
a number of small parts held in place by 6 screws. Ensure that these are not loosened or
undone so that the small parts present a choking hazard for young children.
The user should NOT take the product apart and we bear no responsibility for liability nor
product guarantee if user undoes the screws.
Safe Use
When using the Freey VR, your vision is 100% obscured and when using headphones, your
capacity to hear what is happening in your surroundings is reduced. Therefore, it is your
responsibility to ensure you use the Freey VR in a safe secure environment free of nearby
obstrucons. We recommend using the Freey VR in an oce chair which can freely rotate
360 degrees.

For your safety, when using the Freey VR, DO NOT:
Use in environments that may need your immediate aenon;
Use in the proximity of small children.
When using the Freey VR, DO:
Remain seated at all mes;
Use the Freey VR indoors only. If using on public transport, remain seated and keep the
audio volume low enough to hear any emergency announcements;
Use in an open space, where there are no potenally dangerous items such as sharp objects,
balconies, stairwells and furnishings that are easy to break;
Take a 10 minute break every 10 minutes by removing the headset;
Allow for a minimum of 30 minutes aer using the Freey VR before operang any machin-
ery or driving any vehicle;
Keep the volume of your headphones at a safe level. Prolonged periods of loud noise can
lead to ear damage including reduced or loss of hearing and nnitus;
Ensure your smartphone is aligned correctly by following the alignment process on the app.
To avoid visual conict and visually triggered symptoms such as headaches and nausea; and
Keep the Freey VR away from direct sunlight, to avoid a re hazard caused by the lenses.
DO STOP using the Freey VR immediately if you experience: seizures; loss of awareness; eye
strain; eye or muscle twitching; involuntary movements; altered, blurred, or double vision or
other visual abnormalies; dizziness; disorientaon; impaired balance; impaired hand-eye
coordinaon; excessive sweang; increased salivaon; nausea; lightheadedness; discomfort
or pain in the head or eyes; drowsiness; fague; or any symptoms similar to moon sickness.
DO NOT drive, operate machinery, or engage in other visually or physically demanding
acvies that have potenally serious consequences (i.e., acvies in which experiencing any
symptoms could lead to death, personal injury, or damage to property), or other acvies
that require unimpaired balance and hand-eye coordinaon (such as playing sports or riding
a bicycle, etc.) unl you have fully recovered from any symptoms.
DO NOT in any circumstances use the Freey VR if you are under the inuence of drugs in-
cluding alcohol; suering the aer eects of using drugs including alcohol; suering a gastric
illness or virus; suering from stress or are over-red; or any other physiological or psycho-
logical disorder which may trigger any dangerous emoons, behaviour or aacks resulng in
structural damage, physical damage or death.
SOFTWARE AND CONTENT:
Software
With the excepon of Freey VR produced content, Proteus VR Labs Ltd accepts no respon-
sibility for risk associated with smartphones, tablets or phablets or any connecng audio
devices or controllers or other peripheral devices used in combinaon with the Freey VR.
Freey VR also accepts no responsibility for third party content, either downloaded directly
from a publisher’s portal or their distribuon portal, linked to from the Freey VR website or
a direct download from the Freey VR website.

By downloading and purchasing Freey VR produced content you accept the following:

SETTING UP THE FREEFLY VR
Step 1: Smartphone Requirements
a. The Freey VR is compable with iOS and Android smartphones. For an
up-to-date list of recommended smartphones visit freeyvr.com;
b. For the best experiences, we recommend smartphones with large screen sizes
and powerful processors. For opmum results we recommended 120mm x
70mm;
c. Smartphone size: the device can only t devices up to 150mm x 95mm and no
deeper than 10mm. The Freey VR will not t smartphones smaller than
135mm x 50mm;
d. Before ng your smartphone to the Freey VR we suggest removing any
accessories, such as protecve casings.
Step 2: Download the App
a. Android users can download the app via the download link on the
purchase email;
b. Load the app.

Step 3: Calibrate your Smartphone on the Freey VR Cradle
a. Open the Freey VR by pulling the release handle towards you to unlock the
device & open the main housing;
b. Push the buon on the front of the device to fully open the Freey VR’s support
arms;

c. Place your smartphone in the device as shown and align the horizontal axis of
the screen with the lines on the sliders of the Freey VR;
d. Push the support arms into the sides of the smartphone;

e. Check that the vercal axis of the phone screen is in line with the orange line
on the main housing. If not, then loosen the two screws behind, and slide the
device le or right to align. Tighten the screws aer aligning.
Step 4: Setup your Smartphone
a. Adjust the posion of the foam blocks to avoid blocking a headphone or USB
port. (Loosen and ghten the screws accordingly);

b. Close the main housing of the Freey VR by pulling the release handle towards
yourself, and lowering the main housing onto your smartphone;
c. Ensure your smartphone is secured. Make sure the latch is properly engaged
and the smartphone cannot move around. The Freey VR should be rmly
locked to your smartphone, but not so ght it causes damage to
your smartphone.

Step 5: Fit the Freey VR to your Head
a. Adjust the strap so the Freey VR ts comfortably to your head. TIP: To reduce
fogging, heat the lenses with a hairdryer for 15 seconds prior to use.
