This thermometer comes in four color variations
Congratulations on your purchase of this product.
Please read the instructions carefully before using
the thermometer for the rst time and keep these
instructions in a safe place. This product is intended for
measurement of human body temperature.
Operating Instructions
1. Please disinfect the probe before use.
2. Press the button to activate the thermometer.
• A short beep will sound and the thermometer runs a
check showing all the digital segments on the LCD.
• After the check, the last measurement result is
shown for 2 seconds.
• As soon as - -.- - appears in the LCD the thermome-
ter is ready.
3. Put the thermometer sensor in the desired
measurement position (oral or rectal).
4. Wait for the beep to sound and the ºC or ºF icon to
stop ashing. The measurement is now completed.
5. Read the result from the display.
This is a maximum thermometer and the displayed
temperature can slightly increase if you leave the
thermometer in the measurement position after the
beeps. Please follow the instructions described in the
“Methods of measuring temperature” section.
Fever alarm
If the detected body temperature exceeds
100.0ºF/37.8ºC the thermometer will sound an alarm:
“bi-bi-bi---bi-bi-bi---.”The alarm indicates a fever may
be approaching.
Fever indication
Over 100.0ºF/37.8ºC; elevated temperature —
fever may be approaching!
99.1-99.9ºF/37.3-37.7ºC; slightly elevated
temperature
<99.0ºF/<37.2ºC; normal temperature
Auto-o function
When the measurement is completed, switch the
thermometer o by pressing the ON/OFF button.
If not switched o, the thermometer will switch o
automatically after 10 minutes.
Memory function
When the thermometer is switched on, the last
measurement will be shown for 2 seconds. Press the
button again to turn the thermometer o. When the
thermometer will remain turned on, the result will be
overwritten by the new measurement.
Methods of measuring temperature
It is important to remember that the accuracy of
the body temperature reading depends on the
measurement position. When keeping track of the
results, the measurement position must always be
specied in order to ensure that a correct temperature
reading is recorded.
Rectal Measurement
From a medical point of view, this is the most accurate
method because the temperature at this measurement
position is closest to the core body temperature. The
thermometer tip is inserted carefully into the rectum
for a maximum of 2 cm (1”). The usual measuring time
is approximately 8 to 15 seconds.
Oral Measurement
There are dierent heat zones in the mouth. As a
general rule, the oral temperature is 0.3-0.8˚C
(0.5-1.4ºF) lower than the rectal temperature. To
ensure that the reading is as accurate as possible,
place the thermometer tip to the left or right of the
root of the tongue. The thermometer tip should
remain in constant contact with the tissue under the
tongue during the reading. The mouth should remain
closed during the reading. The usual measuring time is
approximately 8 to 15 seconds.
Important! As eating, drinking and breathing through
the mouth inuence the temperature of the mouth
tissue, we highly recommend not to eat, drink or
breathe through the mouth within 15 minutes before
taking an oral measurement.
Axillary Measurement is NOT recommended
It is NOT recommended to use this device for taking
axillary (under arm) temperature measurements.
This quick reading thermometer will not accurately
measure the axillary temperature.
Switching the temperature scale (˚C or ˚F)
First make sure the thermometer is switched o. If it is
still switched on, press the button once to switch o.
When the thermometer is o, press and hold the
button for 3 seconds to switch the measuring scale.
The new scale (˚C or ˚F) is now and saved.
Cleaning and disinfection
The best way to clean the thermometer tip is by
applying a disinfectant (e.g. 70% ethyl alcohol) with
a damp cloth. This waterproof thermometer can be
immersed in lukewarm water for thorough cleaning
and disinfection.
Safety precautions
• Do not expose the thermometer to hot water over
50ºC (122ºF).
• Do not expose the thermometer to high
temperatures or direct sunlight.

• Do not drop the thermometer. It is neither shock-
proof nor impact-resistant.
• Do not open the device except the battery

Avoid bending the tip by more than 45 degrees.
• Do not clean with thinners, petrol or benzene. Only
clean the thermometer with water or disinfectant.
• Do not immerse the thermometer under water
deeper than 15cm(6”) for longer than 5 minutes.
• The thermometer contains small parts (including
a battery) which can be swallowed by children.
For this reason, do not leave the thermometer
unattended in the hands of children.
• If the ambient temperature is over 35ºC (95ºF) dip
the thermometer tip in cold water for 10 seconds
prior to taking a measurement.
• Persistent fever, in particular in children, has to
be treated by a doctor. If this occurs please get in
touch with your doctor!
Battery replacement
The battery is empty and needs replacing when the
battery symbol appears on the right of the LCD.
To replace the battery: Lay the thermometor with
the button downwards on a at surface. Remove the
screw. Pull o the battery cover. Gently slide out the
circuit board with the battery chamber, up to 1 cm
(0,5 “). Replace the battery by one of the same type
(preferably non-mercury) with the “+”polarity facing
up. After replacing the battery, reposition the circuit
board, the battery cover and the screw.
To protect the environment, please do not dispose of
batteries as normal waste. Instead, please hand them
in at a collection point or municipal recyclable material
centre as special waste.
