Operation & Care Instructions
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
GROUNDING:
This burnisher must be grounded while in use to protect the opera-
tor from electric shock. The burnisher is equipped with an approved
three-conductor cord and three-prong grounding type plug to fit the
proper grounding type receptacle. The green (or green and yellow)
conductorinthecordisthegroundingwire. Neverconnectthegreen
(or green and yellow) wire to a live terminal.
If your unit is for use on less than 150
volts, it has a plug like that shown in
Figure A.
If it is for use on 150 to 250 volts, it has a
plug like that shown in Figure D.
An adapter (Figures B&C) is available for connecting Figure A plugs
to two-prong receptacles. The green-colored rigid ear,lug etc.,must
be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded
outlet box. No adapter is available for a plug as shown in Figure D.
Adapter shown in Figure B & C is not for use in Canada.
MOTOR:
This burnisher is powered by a 1-1/2 HP DC motor and will operate
on a 115VAC 60HZ only. Be sure your power supply agrees with the
voltage marked on the nameplates. A voltage decrease of more than
10% will cause the motor to slow down, thus increasing the current
draw and opening the circuit breaker.
EXTENSION CORDS:
Burnishers that have 3 wire cords requiring grounding must only be
used with extension cords that have 3-prong grounding type plugs
and 3-pole receptacles.
To determine the minimum wire size required, refer to the chart
below:

damaged insulation and defective fitting.

when working on this burnisher.
This burnisher is a high quality, precision made product. All parts used in the manufacturing of this
burnisher have passed rigid quality control standards prior to assembly, and an “each unit”final
inspection prior to packaging is your assurance of proper assembly. This burnisher is protectively
packed to prevent possible damage in transit. Should damage occur, please notify the transporting
carrier immediately for loss and/or claim.

TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
ABOUT THE MACHINE
TO ADJUST HANDLE:
This burnisher is packaged with the handle folded forward and the
foot pedal in the up position.
1. Depress the foot pedal then raise the handle until the opening in
the bottom of the handle is centered over the handle lock.
2. Return the foot pedal to the up position,which allows the center
lock to position inside the handle. The handle is now LOCKED for
travel.
3. When ready to operate, depress the foot pedal, then lock by
pushing forward. The handle is now FREE FLOATING.
Note: The handle on this burnisher MUST BE FREE FLOATING
to permit proper operation.
TO ATTACH PAD:
1. With handle locked in the upright position,unplug machine and tilt
burnisher back on the handle until the underside is fully exposed.
2. Remove the plastic pad lock by turning clockwise.
3. Remove the center scored circle from the pad.
4. Place pad on drive brush. Be sure pad is properly centered.
5. Replace the plastic lock nut by engaging the threads and rotate
counter-clockwise until right below pad surface.
CAUTION: Do not use with pads less than 3/4”thick.
The normal position of this burnisher, with the pad stationary, is tilt-
ed back on the four wheels with the pad off the floor.
1. Remove cable completely from cable hooks.
2. Withthe handle in free float position and thepower cableplugged
into the proper outlet, squeeze the switch bar beneath the han-
dle grips.
3. As the motor reaches full speed (1-2 seconds),the pad will slow-
ly fall to the floor due to the partial vacuum between the pad and
the floor created by the high speed pad rotation.
TO OPERATE:
For best result,use a clean pad and change frequently as pad loads
up. A motor overload could result from a dirty, loaded pad. If the
built-in circuit breaker trips, wait five (5) seconds, then depress but-
ton on the side of the switchbox. Change the pad.
Operate the burnisher in a straight-line path. Avoid continuous oper-
ation in one spot, as such operation may damage the floor.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE:
This burnisher will afford you may years of trouble-free service
provided it is given proper care. Throwing,dropping bumping across
the thresholds and other misuse may result in a damaged unit and
invalidate the warranty. When storing your burnisher,always remove
the pad. Pads can be cleaned by washing in warm water with mild
detergent, rinsing, and hung up to dry.
It is not necessary to lubricate this burnisher. All bearings have been
pre-lubricated and permanently sealed at the factory.
