Safety Instructions
Pure Cold IMPACT6 Self Contained Medium Temperature Display Case Containing R290 A3
Refrigerant With An 115V Electrical Supply From a Power Cord Fitted With NEMA 5-15P Plug
Electrical
Before working on the electrical part of the system the cabinet should be isolated from the
electrical supply by unplugging the cabinet and taking precautions to ensure it cannot be plugged
in while someone is working on the system.
Refrigeration
The refrigerant used in the cooling system is R290 which is an A3 flammable refrigerant that
requires specific care is taken when working on this product. The refrigerant is sealed in the
system and should only be worked on by trained and competent technician.
The refrigerant in the system is heavier than air so under fault conditions any refrigerant leaked
will initially settle in lower area but may be dispersed by the cabinet fans.
Only equipment specifically design for use on hydrocarbon refrigerant systems should be used as
non-specifically designed equipment may cause a risk .
No open flames of other sources of ignition should be used in the area around the case until a
check for refrigerant leak or hydrocarbon presence is carried out.
The use of a Hydrocarbon specific handheld leak detection device is required for the detection of
the refrigerant.
All work on the refrigeration system should be carried out in a well-ventilated area.
Correct risk assessments and method statements should be completed by the Technician or their
company before any work is carried out and it is their responsibility to ensure all safety
requirements are identified and followed.
Condensation Water
The cabinet is fitted with a self-evaporative drainage tray and excessive ambient conditions could
cause this to overflow resulting in water on the floor which should be monitored and if on the
floor appropriate action taken so there is no risk to persons safety.

Installation
Location & Environment
The Impact 6 case has been designed for use only in air-conditioned
stores where temperature and humidity are maintained at or below the
ANSI / NSF-7 specified level of 75°F and 55% relative humidity. Sources
of heat or air movement external to the case should be avoided, as this
will affect case performance. Cases should not be located within close
proximity to ventilation ducts, open doors, direct sunlight, etc.
Do not break the cold chain. These cases are designed for only pre-
chilled products, keep products in chilled environment prior to loading
into the case.
Please note that if the ambient temperature exceeds 75°F, humidity
exceeds 55%RH or cross air flow exceeds 0.66f/s (or any combination
of) then the case may not keep products in the temperature zone
required. Additionally, if the humidity is higher than 60% RH the self-
evaporative tray may not cope with the amount of water being
produced and may overflow.
For California businesses: This product may contain chemicals known to the
State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
This warning is the result of the California State law known as the California State
Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, which is commonly referred to
as “Proposition 65.” This warning does not mean that Pure Cold products will
cause cancer or reproductive harm or is in violation of any product-safety
standards or requirements. As clarified by the California State government,
Proposition 65 can be considered more of a ‘right to know’ law than a pure
product safety law. When used as designed, Pure Cold believes that our products
are not harmful. We provide the Proposition 65 warning to stay in compliance with
California State law. It is your responsibility to provide accurate Proposition 65
warning labels to your customers when necessary. For more information on
Proposition 65, please visit the California State government website.

Installation (cont.)
The display case should be located in such a manner that air will freely circulate
around the evaporative tray and rear of the case to avoid the formation of
condensation. A gap of 1 /2” (40mm) needs to be maintained to the rear of the
display case. The air must then be allowed to freely circulate either over the top of
the cabinet into the store, or (if it is large enough) into the ceiling void.
The finished backs on these cases and oversized end panels ensured adequate air
flow spacing
Failure to allow the air to escape may lead to Condensation and water pooling or the
cabinet tripping out on high pressure
Ensure that adequate refrigeration, electrical isolation and circuit
protection is incorporated within the final installation as necessary to
meet all relevant requirements and match the design criteria of the
supply systems.

Never lift from the refrigeration tray, electrical tray or underside of gable end
as this could cause significant damage. Lifting should only be done by pre-
determined forklift slots at rear of case
Caution lifting from the underside of the cabinet may cause
significant damage. Extreme care should be taken to avoid damage
to refrigeration and electrical equipment mounted beneath or at the
rear of the case. A label affixed to the reverse of the cabinet gives
clear lifting instructions.
STEP THREE
Case can be forklifted off vehicle using
dedicated fork slots to back of case

Case to Case Line-up and Joining
The sealing of cases is imperative in the protection against leakage. Tubes
of mastic, silicone and foam tape are provided as part of the installation
kit. It is highly recommended to seal a case prior to installing another case
alongside.
Attach the foam rubber to the ends of the carcass then apply an even
amount of mastic to either side of the foam rubber. The rubber foam is
required for sanitation purposes, while the mastic is required for
refrigeration efficiency. Apply the mastic around the end perimeter.
As a final precaution, seal all internal joints with silicone. This provides
added sealing against leakage.
Be sure that beads of sealant and foam tape have been
applied correctly before commencing this operation. Move
the required case tightly against the line-up case. Insert all
necessary joining bolts (as indicated in the illustration below)
and finger tighten. Proceed with shimming/adjusting feet.
After adjustment and alignment have been levelled, proceed
to tighten the joining bolts equally until cases are firmly
sealed together.
