InfoLink 4 Port Call Button Interface Installation
1. Connect call button wiring to interface. Strip ¼” to no more than 3/8” insulation from wiring.
The small square buttons near each connection when pressed will release the spring loaded
wire capture mechanism. Depress when inserting wires. A small flat screwdriver can be used
for this purpose.
2. Interface connects easily to the Music Maestro serial port. Use screws for additional support.
3. Power on music system (or power cycle if it was already on when the interface was
connected).
4. When music returns, test button to verify proper operation / message assignment. Adjust if
necessary.
Proper installation. Label wires
with their designated port.
Top view of mounted interface. Note that
no bare copper is exposed.
Use a small screwdriver to depress wire
release for insertion / removal of wire.
DO NOT DO THIS! No bare wire should
extend beyond face of port.

The United Media Solutions PC-Lan based music system.
The Unit will need to be connected with a Network cable - this is how the music unit communicates
channel changes and updates for music and messages.
Installing your UMS LAN connected box.
Find the current Sirius System and place the new system nearby.
1. The Sirius system has a network cable plugged into it.
Disconnect the network cable from the Sirius system and plug it
into the new Maestro system.
2. Plug the new power cord to the back of the system and make
sure the power button is turned on. Power button is located on
the front of the system.
3. Detach old music unit by unplugging the connections, being
Sure to keep the audio output cord nearby.
3. Detach audio output cord from the output headphone jack of
the old music player. It will usually have a male RCA or 3.5mm
Headphone connector. This plugs into the headphone jack of the
new UMS unit.

System Component Overview 1

- System Installation -
General Installation Considerations
•Every effort should be made to maintain defined wiring color codes.
•The power strip is provided for powering of accessories if necessary.
•All Audio outputs are Line-Level and should be connected to High Impedance loads only!
•Server communication (modem connection) must be verified with United Media Solutions after
installation! (See Below)
Communication Verification (Required!)
Installation of the system is not complete until network connectivity is verified with United Media
Solutions, Inc. After installation, call 800-373-8200 and select Option 2 to be connected with customer
service. A representative will verify that the system you’ve installed is registered and communicating
properly with our server(s)!
Mounting the system
The system ships pre-mounted on a backboard and can be mounted in any convenient orientation. A
margin around the system and components is provided for mounting.
AC Power
The system is designed to be powered through the power strip attached to the board. Plug the power
strip plug to a standard AC power outlet and flip the switch on the strip to the On position to power up the
system. The system is shipped shut down and it may be required to press the power button on the front to
initially power on the system. If power is lost to the system after this initial power on, it will automatically
restart without using the power button.
Satellite Radio Antenna Installation
The antenna connection on the radio is a standard female SMB connector and is compatible with all
standard satellite radio antennas and extensions. The antenna must have a clear view to the sky for proper
operation – it must be mounted outside! Install the antenna , route the coax to the system and plug it into the
radio. See chart below for antenna aiming.

Sirius Antenna Aiming Guidelines
Antenna Antenna mounted outside
System Interface Connections
System audio outputs are provided via a 3.5mm to Stereo Female Phono adapter. The MOH channel is
present on the left channel (White Connector) and the Overhead channel is present on the right channel (Red
Connector)

Cable Connection
The Info-Link System will come with MOH and overhead cable connected to the system. The connector
plug labeled MOH connects to the MOH port on the telephone system. The connector plug labeled Overhead
connects to the back of the amplifier.
The MOH cable connects to a mini plug (already attached), that plugs into the Nortel phone system (See
picture below).

The existing amplifier (below) will have a blue split cable connected to the AUX port (pictured below).
Remove the blue cable and discard.
Amplifier Back of amplifier with existing blue coupler
Plug the RCA extender cable labeled “Overhead” (no miniplug connected) into the Left side Auxiliary
port on the amplifier (see diagram for Auxiliary port location).

MOH source is across pins 3 and 6 on the RJ45 connection into the V&M Module.
V & M Module Programming Features that affect MOH:
1. Impedance
2. Operation – should be 4 wire from what I remember
3. Music-threshold

Making the Overhead Connection
Connect the Overhead output to the site’s overhead system input/amplifier using a male-to-male RCA
patch cord. The Overhead output can drive several hundred feet of low capacitance wiring if necessary.
Making the Phone Line/Modem connection
The system requires a phone line connection for proper operation. The system is equipped with either
an internal modem, or an external USB modem. All that is required is to connect the modem to an analog
phone line. The system is configured at the factory with a default dial-string that should work in most
situations. If the system does not successfully connect, please send the addendum for instruction on adjusting
the dial-string for proper call origination.
DSL Filter Installation (Only required if site has DSL)
If the phone line is a DSL or ADSL then, a DSL/ADSL filter must be installed for proper
system/modem operation. A filter can be installed as pictured below. If the line is filtered elsewhere, prior to
connection to the system, then no additional filter need be installed.
