1.3 Location
IMPORTANT Please note the following in order to avoid material damage:
■Do not use the clock in rooms where humidity is high (e.g. bathrooms).
■Make sure the clock is placed out of the reach of children and animals.
■Choose a sturdy, non-slip, robust surface.
■Do not place the clock directly adjacent to or onto hard drives, computers, mobile
phones, credit cards or other electronic components that react sensitively to
magnets.
■Position your QLOCKTWO EARTH 13.5 so that it cannot fall down in the event of
unintentional knocks or pulling of the cables.
■Avoid direct heat radiation, for example heat from radiators.
■Avoid direct sunlight.
1.4 Cleaning
Carefully dust surfaces with a soft, dry brush without applying pressure.

IMPORTANT Polishing cloths or solvents (e.g. turpentine, benzene) or cleaning agents

1.5 Maintenance and repairs
Never attempt to repair or dismantle your QLOCKTWO EARTH 13.5 yourself.
Have a specialised dealer or the manufacturer carry out maintenance and repair
work. See the last page of these Instructions for Use for contact details.

Instructions for Use
Please read through the instructions carefully for the safe use of the
QLOCKTWO EARTH 13.5 and to ensure its long useful life and keep them
in a safe place. The Instructions for Use are also available online:

1. Safety Instructions
1.1 Scope of delivery
Unpack and check scope of delivery. Contact your specialised dealer in the event of
missing or damaged parts.

■QLOCKTWO EARTH 13.5 including an exchangeable front cover
■Base
■Self-adhesive protection strips
■3-m USB cable
■5-V USB power supply unit
■Microfibre cloth
1.2 Transport and storage
IMPORTANT Please note the following in order to avoid material damage:
■Use the original packaging
■Avoid knocking, shaking and vibrating during transportation.
■Store in dry rooms at room temperature and low humidity.

The plug of the power supply unit serves as a disconnecting device from the mains
supply. The socket must be located close to the QLOCKTWO EARTH 13.5 and be easily
accessible.
IMPORTANT Please note the following in order to avoid material damage:
For safety instructions on positioning the clock, see Section 1.3 ‘Location’.

>Pull the protective film off the protection strips.
>Apply the adhesive side of the protections strips to the bottom of your QLOCKTWO EARTH 13.5.
>Place your QLOCKTWO EARTH 13.5 onto the magnetic stainless steel base.

>Carefully insert the miniature USB plug into the USB connection socket on the back
of the casing.
>Plug the USB plug into the USB power supply unit.
>Plug the USB power supply unit into a wall socket.
WARNING
Serious to fatal injury caused by electric power
■Do not pull electric cables; only pull out the plugs.
■Lay cables so that they cannot be bent or get caught and are not found
in passages.
■Check all cables for visible damage before connecting them to the
power supply. Do not connect your QLOCKTWO EARTH 13.5 to the power
supply in the event of any damage.
■Comply with acceptable electric data for the power supply,
see Section 4 on ‘Technical Data’.
■Do not touch cables and plugs with wet hands.
1.6 Warranty
The warranty is valid for two years. Only use your QLOCKTWO EARTH 13.5 with orig-
inal accessories. Failure to observe the information in these Instructions for Use or
modifying, opening or altering your QLOCKTWO EARTH 13.5 will not be covered by our
warranty.
1.7 Disposal
IMPORTANT Improper disposal pollutes the environment.
2. Assembly and Connections
Electric appliances: Electric appliances may not be disposed of as
household waste. Observe regional disposal regulations. Dealers are
obliged to take back appliances.
Stainless steel: Stainless steel components are to be recycled as
scrap metal. Stainless steel is a valuable raw material which can be
melted and reused.

3.2 Operation
Setting the clock:
When you connect your clock to the power supply for the first time, the time display
will blink - settings can be made immediately. Touching the [ 1 ] 1-minute step button
will set the internal counter for seconds at zero. This makes is possible to set the time
precisely to the second.
>If the time display does not blink: Keep the [ ] button pressed for approx. 3 seconds
to go back to time setting mode.
>Set the time of day with the [60], [ 5 ] and [ 1 ] buttons.
>Press the [ ] button or the [] button.
The time of day can be transferred easily and accurately to the second to your
QLOCKTWO EARTH 13.5 with many smartphones by using the free FLASHSETTER app.

Switching the ‘IT IS’ display on/off:
The factory setting shows the introductory words ‘IT IS’ for full hours and half hours.
>If ‘IT IS’ is always shown:
Keep buttons [ 1 ] and [ ] pressed simultaneously for approx. 3 seconds.
>Restoring the factory setting:
Keep buttons [ 1 ] and [ ] pressed simultaneously for approx. 3 seconds.
Switching the second display on/off:
The seconds appear in large numbers on the front cover.
>Switching the second display on: Keep button [1] pressed for approx. 3 seconds.
>Switching the second display off: Press any button.

Switching the night light on/off:
The displays all light up as brightly as possible.
>Switching the night light on: Keep button [60] pressed for approx. 2 seconds.
>Switching the night light off: Press any button.
3.3 Alarm functions
Showing the status:
The symbol on the front cover shows the status of the alarm.
■Symbol lights up: alarm on
■Symbol does not light up: alarm off
■Symbol blinks rapidly: alarm time display
■Symbol blinks slowly: alarm time setting
■Symbol pulsates slowly: slumber mode
Showing the alarm time:
>Keep the [] button pressed for approx. 3 seconds.
Setting the alarm time:
The alarm time is set in a 12-hour mode.
>Keep the [] button pressed for approx. 3 seconds. The alarm time is shown.
>Set the alarm time (like the time of day) with the [60], [ 5 ] and [ 1 ] buttons.
Switching on the alarm:
>Press the [] button.
The alarm will start sounding softly and will gradually get louder.
Switching the alarm off:
>Press the [] button or touch the top of the casing for approx. 2 seconds.
Snoozing:
>Touch the top of the casing. The alarm will sound again after 5 minutes.
The function can be repeated as often as necessary.
>End snoozing (switching the alarm off): Press the [] button or touch the top of the
casing for some time.
Setting the brightness:
Automatic brightness adjustment (factory setting):
The level of brightness is adapted automatically to the surrounding light with the help
of a light sensor; it can be set in steps.
>Press button [ ] repeatedly.
The settings will change as follows:
Manual brightness adjustment:
Four permanently defined brightness levels are available for manual brightness
adjustment. You can choose from these by repeatedly pressing the button [].
Switching between automatic and manual brightness adjustment:
By simultaneously pressing the [] and [ ] buttons for three seconds, you can switch
back and forth between automatic and manual brightness adjustment. Please note
that the automatic brightness adjustment mode (factory setting) will automatically be
reactivated after a power interruption.
Night touch mode:
The time display is switched off in the night touch mode.
When the alarm is switched on only the symbol will light up.
The night touch mode is switched on with the brightness setting.
Night touch mode functions:
>Showing the time of day: Touch the top of the casing.
The time will appear for 3 seconds.
>Showing the alarm time: Touch the top of the casing twice in succession.
The alarm time will appear for 3 seconds.
>Ending the night touch mode: Switch the alarm off or press the [ ] button.

Setting a language:
When the front cover is exchanged, the respective language must be set with
the keys on the back of the casing:
>Press button [ ] and button [ 5 ] simultaneously. The language currently
set is shown in capital letters.
>Press button [ ] repeatedly until the appropriate language version appears.
>Press button [60] to save the language version.
3.5 Power failure
The time of day continues to change for approx. 24 hours in the event of power
failure. The current time of day will be shown automatically when the power supply
has been restored. The settings for brightness and alarm time are retained.

3.4 Exchanging the front cover
The matrix of letters on the front cover differs for each language. The relevant front
covers are available as accessories to be exchanged if a different language is to be
displayed.
The front cover is held in place with magnets. This is why it can easily and quickly be
exchanged if a colour or a language is to be changed.
■Pull the front cover off the body carefully towards the front.
■Remove the protective film from the front of the new front cover by putting it down
on a clean, level surface and slowly pulling it off, starting at a corner. Do not bend
the front cover. The need to remove protective film only applies for acrylic glass
models.
■Once this has been done, place the front cover onto the body so that it fits accurately.
