INTRODUCTION
The Indoor Fiber Optic Receiver isastand alone AM opticalreceiverwhichmaybe mounted ina19"rack.
Located at either a headend oraremotesite,the unitisaversatile,cost effectivealternativetodevices
with bulkier environmentallysealed and ruggedized housings.
Oncethe lowdistortion,lownoisephotodiode recoversthe RF signalsfromthe 1310 or1550 optical
carrier,theyareamplified and delivered tothe receiver's RF output.LEDson the receiver'sfront panel
indicatethe presenceofOptical Power. If the input opticalpowerisabove-8dBm,the lightlitsgreen,
otherwise, itlitsred.Onthe frontpanel,thereare10V/mwtest pointswhichhelpstroubleshooting.

lowerthan-6dBm,butCNR will belargelydeteriorated;whentheinputpowerishigherthan2dBm, CTB
and CSO willbedeterioratedandmayevencausethedamageoftheopticalreceivingmodule.
4.Cleantheendoftheconnectorwithalintfree tissuemoistenedwithalcoholbeforeyou insertthe
connectorintothereceptacleoftheSC/APCadapter.
5. Thismachineshouldbegroundedbeforeoperation.Thegroundedresistenceshouldbe<4Ω

INSTALLATIONAND ADJUSTMENT
1.PowerConnection
Undernormalcircumstances, afterthe powerisconnected.Statuslight litsred.
2.FiberConnection
Cut off the powerand takedownthe bolt inFiberInput Port then performthe followingsteps:
•Carefullyremovethe protectivecapfromthe SC/APCconnector.
•Clean theend oftheconnectorwithalint free tissue moistened withalcohol.
•Insert the connectorintothereceptacleofthe SC/APCadapter.
•Poweron, thestatuslight infront panellitsgreen when the input powerisabove-8dBm.
Otherwise, it litsred.
3. Testpoints
Onthe front paneltherearetwopointsforthe useoftestinginput powerbyamultimeter.
4.CableConnection
Connect the cablesaccordingly.
Important:all theinputoroutputports(notincluding thetestports)notinuse shouldbe
connectedto75Ωresistance.
5.Optical PowerMonitoring
Statuslightshowswhen the inputopticalpowerislowerthan –8dBm.Inthiscase,you should
check the opticallink, the SC/APCconnectorand theoutputopticalpowerofthe transmitter.
6.TechnicalSupport
Anytechnicalquestionsoroperation problemspleaseresort tothe supplier.
