Product overview
1. USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2) Type-C™interface to host connection

Please note the following information about the compatibility of
USB Type-C™enclosures and adapters, including this device!
• The enclosure only supplies the full data transfer rate of up to
20 Gbit/s via a USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2) USB Type-C™host interface
and an available Asmedia chipset ASM3264 at host PC.
• Currently a macOS®based computer does not support the
USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2) standard
• A USB Type-A host interface can be connected with USB 3.1, 3.0 or
2.0 standard in some notebooks and computers by using the enclosed
USB-Type-C™to type-A cable.
• The enclosure also works on devices with a Thunderbolt™3 Type-C™
interface only with the transfer rate of up to 10 Gbit/s specified by
USB 3.1 (Gen 2).
• The following operating systems are supported: Windows®, macOS®

With the help of the external USB 3.2 Type-C™enclosure IB-1916M-C32
you can take one NVMe SSD with you quickly and easily. It allows access to
M.2 SSDs of up to 2 TB no matter to which host you connect it. The
IB-1916M-C32 is compatible with M.2 cards of 80 mm length, operating
system-independent and suitable for a variety of applications such as
high-speed storage, cloning a drive or running a mobile operating system.
A PCIe controller from Asmedia give the NVMe inside the IB-1916M-C32
incredible speeds of up to 2000 MB/s read and write via USB Type-C™
while also making your M.2 SSD more durable and more efficient.

Installation
Important: During the drive assembly all cabling has to be disconnected
from the computer.It may cause electric shock accident or malfunction.
When connecting the hard drive, please note the electrostatic! Body’s static
electricity may cause malfunction of the device. Please touch a metal object
to discharge or wear antistatic gloves before the operation.
Attention!
• PCB of this device and SSDs are precision machinery, please be
careful do not collision and please notice the right direction of SSD.
• Be careful the cutting edge inside may cut hand!
• If hard disk already contains data, please backup data before
installation to prevent data loss.

the connection side into the M.2
socket at an angle of about 30°
so it fits in smoothly.

4. Then push the SSD card
down and fix it with the
delivered screw at the PCB.

Usage
• Connect the IB-1916M-C32 via the delivered cable to the correspon-
ding port of your host computer.
• When the IB-1916M-C32 has been plugged correctly the LED will turn
on blue!
Application
• The external SSD can be connected to or disconnected from the
computer without shutting down the computer.
• Please await the end of read/write operations before disconnecting
the SSD to avoid data loss.
• A new SSD must first be initialized, partitioned and formatted by the
operation system to be displayed by the system.
• If the drive isn’t recognized instantly by the operating system please
check: if the driver software is installed (USB), if the SSD is initialized,
partitioned and formatted.
Info: Drives must be initialized and have active partitions to be immediately
recognized as volumes in the operating system. If this is not the case, initialize
the drives in the volume management of your operating system.
The full USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2) transfer rate can only be achieved with a
compatible USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2) host computer. Furthermore, the USB 3.2
drivers must be installed by the operating system. If this is not the case, install
the appropriate drivers for your operating system (Windows®).

Einbau
Hinweis! Um Schäden oder Fehlfunktionen zu vermeiden darf das Gehäuse
während der Installation des Laufwerks nicht am Computer angeschlossen
sein. Beim Einsetzen der Laufwerke achten Sie auf mögliche elektrostatische
Entladung, da diese zu Schäden oder Fehlfunktionen führen kann. Berühren
Sie vor der Installation ein „geerdetes“ Metallobjekt oder tragen antistatische
Handschuhe.
Achtung!
• Die PCB und das Laufwerk sind sehr empfindliche Komponenten. Setzen Sie
das Laufwerk bitte vorsichtig ein und achten auf die richtige Ausrichtung.
• Gehen Sie behutsam vor, da im Inneren des Gerätes scharfe Kanten
vorhanden sind.
• Um Datenverlust vorzubeugen, sollte zwingend von Festplatten mit
enthaltenen Daten vorher ein Backup durchgeführt werden.

1. Lösen Sie die Schrauben
wie gezeigt.
2. Entnehmen Sie die Platine.
3. Platzieren Sie Ihre SSD vor-
sichtig mit der Anschlussseite
und in einem Winkel von ca.
30° in den M.2-Slot, so dass sie
sich widerstandslos einfügt.

7. Befestigen die beiden zuvor
entnommenen Schrauben wie-
der und bringen die mitgelieferte
Acrylabdeckung an. Achten Sie
auf die korrekte Ausrichtung des
LED Ausschnitts!

Verwendung
• Verbinden Sie die IB-1916M-C32 mittels des beiliegenden Kabels mit
dem entsprechenden Anschluss Ihres Computers.
• Wurde das IB-1916M-C32 richtig eingesteckt, leuchtet die LED blau auf.
Anwendung
• Die externe SSD kann im laufenden Betrieb des Rechners angeschlos-
sen oder von diesem getrennt werden.
• Bitte das Ende von Schreib- und Lesevorgängen abwarten bevor ein
angeschlossenes Gehäuse vom Rechner getrennt wird, um Datenverlust
zu vermeiden.
• Eine neue SSD muss vom Betriebssystem erst initialisiert, partitioniert
und formatiert werden, um vom System angezeigt zu werden.
• Wenn die SSD nicht sofort vom System erkannt wird bitte prüfen:
• ob die Treibersoftware installiert ist (USB),
• ob die SSD initialisiert, partitioniert und formatiert ist.

Info: Laufwerke müssen initialisiert sein und aktive Partitionen besitzen, damit
diese sofort als Datenträger im Betriebssystem erkannt werden. Falls dies nicht
der Fall sein sollte, initialisieren Sie die Laufwerke in der Datenträgerverwal-
tung Ihres Betriebssystems.
Die volle USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2) Transferrate kann nur mit einem kompatiblen
USB 3.2 (Gen 2x2) Hostcomputer erreicht werden. Des Weiteren müssen
die USB 3.2 Treiber seitens des Betriebssystems installiert sein. Sollte dies
nicht der Fall sein, installieren Sie die passenden Treiber für Ihr Betriebssystem
(Windows®).
