Disc storage

vulnerable.

COPY PROTECTION
Many DVD discs are encoded with copy protection. Because of this, you
should only connect your DVD player directly to your TV, not to a VCR (Video
Cassette Recorder). Connecting to a VCR can result in a distorted picture from
copy -protected DVD discs.
This product incorporates copyright protection technology that is protected by
methods claims of certain U.S. patents and other intellectual property rights owned
by Macrovision Corporation and other rights owners. Use of this copyright
protection technology must be authorized by Macrovision Corporation, and is
intended for home and other limited viewing uses only, unless otherwise authorized
by Macrovision Corporation. Reverse engineering or disassembly is prohibited.
Regional coding
Both the DVD player and disc are coded by region. These regional codes
must match in order for the disc to play. If the codes do not match, the disc will
not play.
Other regional codes cannot be played in this unit. The unit will display
“WRONG REGION.”

overhead DVD player, please read this manual thoroughly and retain it for
future reference.

Main function descriptions
1. Front IR screen
Transmits audio to wireless headphones and receives remote control signal from the
remote control.
2. POWER button
Turns ROV-1000 (CHAMELEON) on or off
Button backlight is red color
3. PLAY/PAUSE button
Press this button to activate the play mode while a disc is loaded into the disc
compartment.
Press the button again to allow the user to pause the playback

Allows the user to advances to the next chapter, track or scene during playback.
Press the button to allow NEXT and Press the button longer to work fast forward.

Remote control operation
Battery installation
Before attempting to operate your remote control, install the battery as
described below.
1) Turn the remote control face down. Using a clip and/or fingertip, pull
down the battery cover open.
2) Install one “CR2025” battery as shown. Make sure that proper polarity
(+ or -) is observed.
3) Align the cover tabs with the remote control and press down until the
cover clicks.
If remote doesn’t operate properly
1) Check the polarity +/- of the battery (Coin-Cell).
2) Check if the battery are drained.
3) Check if remote sensor is blocked by obstacles.
4) Check if there is any fluorescent lighting nearby.
Using the remote control
1) Point the remote control at the remote sensor located on the unit.
2) When there is bright ambient light near the unit, the performance of
the infrared remote sensor may be degraded, causing unreliable
operation.
3) The recommended effective distance for remote operation is about
7 meter.
Battery replacement
When battery become weak the operating distance of the remote
control is greatly reduced and you will need to replace the battery.

Notes
1) If the remote control is not going to be used for a long time (more than several
weeks), remove the battery.
2) Do not mix ALKALINE, standard ( CARBON-ZINC) or rechargeable (NICKEL-
CADMIUM) battery.

Turning the ROV-1000 (CHAMELEON) on/off
1. Sliding the screen release lock forward will unlock the LCD screen and it will
drop down slightly. The internal hinge will hold the screen in position while the
system is in use.
2. Pressing the power button on the unit or the remote control will turn the system
on or off alternately. When in use the internal backlighting will illuminate the
controls.
Overhead dome lights
The lights integrated into the ROV-1000 (CHAMELEON) are controlled by
push-button switch. Push-button switch to the protruding position will turn the
lights off. And the other position will turn on the lights.
Remote Sensor
The ROV-1000 (CHAMELEON) incorporates three Infrared sensors that
relay signals from the remote control to allow the unit to be controlled simply by
pointing its remote control at the remote sensor eye.
DVD basics
To get the optimum use out of the DVD section, make sure you read this
section completely.
Types of discs your DVD will play
• DVD discs – DVD discs that contain video.
• Audio discs – Audio CDs contain musical or sound content only.
• MP3 discs – A disc that contains audio files (For example, a CD-R with

down-loaded MP3 files).
• VCD discs –VCD discs which contain video.
• DVD-Recordable discs- Discs that contain video
• DVD-Rewritable discs- Discs that contain video
Loading and playing discs
Before you load a disc, make sure that it is compatible with the
player.
The following discs cannot be used with this player;
• All 80mm discs CDDA or DVD-Video, DVD-Audio.
• Mini disc(MD).
• Laser disc(LD).
• CD-I, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM.
To load and play a disc
Press the power button to turn the unit on. Select DVD mode and
insert the disc (face up) into the disc compartment. (Hybrid slot)

Setting and adjustment for LCD
This chapter describes how to set and how to adjust using the on-screen
LCD setup menu.
Main menu
LCD setup menu has graphic user interface and it has four sub-
menu video adjust, OSD setting, video input select and audio setting.
Video adjust menu setup
Video adjust menu allows user to adjust for brightness, contrast,
sharpness, saturation, hue or factory default setup.

OSD setting menu setup
OSD (On Screen Display) setting menu allows user to adjust for
LCD monitor position (horizontal or vertical), OSD display timeout, OSD
language or OSD transparency.
6 languages are available (see below picture).
TV function menu setup
TV function menu allows user can control TV function such as MTS,
media, auto-scan, set channel, add / del channel, channel label and
channel tracking.

AUTO SCAN menu allows user to set all active channel in
` the particular area to be automatically preset to the memory.

Settings and adjustments for DVD
This chapter describes how to set and how to adjust using the on-screen
DVD setup menu.
Using the setup menu
Using the setup display, you can do the initial setup, adjust the picture
quality and set the various outputs. You can also set a language for the on-
screen display, the setup display and limit play back by children.
1) Press the SETUP button to display the “setup menu” on the TV screen.
2) Select the main item you want using the▲▼ buttons, and then press
the SEL button.
PIC MODE menu setup
