Chapter 1. Special Functions
SpecialfunctionsavailableontheST30BidataRoundare:
1. Calibration lock/unlock
2. Boatshow mode
3. Damping
Forsecurity reasons,extended calibrationfeatures are selected byan
extended hold(15 seconds) of depth andspeed untilCAL is displayedfor
the secondtime,followed by momentary depressionof boththe depth and
speed keys.
Tocycle thefeatures,pressthe depth keyuntil the requiredoption is
displayed.
1.1 Calibration Lock/Unlock
Calibrationlock/unlockeliminatesthe risk of accidentally changing allbutthe
extended calibration values.
Thisfeatureis particularly useful foroperatorsofcharterboats who spenda
greatdealof time tuningthepilot tothevessel,onlytofind acustomeralters
thesettings at alaterdate.
ThisfeatureisdisplayedasC1orC0.
C1= unlocked (normalaccess)
C0= calibrationislocked (noaccess).
Themode ischangedbypressingthespeed key.
Calibrationlock/unlock isstored bypressingdepthandspeed together for2
seconds.
1.2 Boatshow Mode
Boatshowmode(S0 = disabled,S1 = enabled)isa demonstration
programmeto showthe featuresof theinstrument.
The modeis changedby pressing speed.
Note:Boatshow Modeautomaticallyresets to normal modeif a transduceris
connecteddirectlyto theinstrumentoriftheinstrumentispowereddown.
However,boatshow modecanbe stored by:
1. Settingthe instrument to repeater mode
2. Selecting Boatshow Mode
3. Exitingfrom repeater mode

1.3 Damping
Dampingcontrols the sensitivity to speed and depth changes detectedby
thetransducer.The dampingrangeis from 1to15;the factory settingis 04.
Tochange thedamping factor, pressthe speed key asrequired to obtainthe
desired setting.
Dampingis storedbypressing depth and speed togetherfor2 seconds.
