Section : 2 Transmitter Mounting
2.1 Thread Mounting
30-S Series can be mounted on pipelines where standard threads
can be provided. 1/4" female BSP standard threads will be required for
mounting of pressure transmitter. 30-S Series can be mounted on both vertical
and horizontal directions in pipelines (any rigid material) provided that the
threaded part / socket interferes the pipes.

Section : 3 Transmitter Electrical Connections
3.1 General Guidelines
30-S Series requires a regulated +12 - 24 VDC connection from an
external supply (not provided) to work properly.
WARNING: Don’t connect AC line power to the 30-S Series pressure transmitter.
Important Notes:
•All electrical installations must be supervised by a qualified and responsible
electrician.
•Use wiring practices that conform to all national, international and local
electrical codes.
•Don’t put sensor cables or instrument 4-20 mA output wires in the same
conduit that contains AC power wires. AC power wires require a separate
conduit to prevent electrical noise in signals.
3.2 Power
A 12 - 24 VDC power supply (max. 40 VDC) must be used to power
the 30-S Series pressure transmitter. Always separate input DC power from high
power sources, frequency drives, motors, or other electrical signal wires, which
may contribute noise to a system and cause disturbance in signal. Make sure
input DC power is stable, noise free and non-fluctuating.
3.3 Cable Connection
2 or 3 core cable can be connected to the 30-S Series transmitter
DIN valve terminal strip by connecting the wires as below mentioned diagram.
1- Unscrew the DIN valve connector.
2- Pull the screw out and remove the female connector.
3- Use pan or slotted head screwdriver in the screw hole and push it to remove
the top DIN valve casing from the male connector pins.
4- Insert the cable through DIN connector gland hole and connect the tinned
cable wires to connectors as shown in the figure below
5 / 9

Route the signal cable away from AC power wires, frequency drives, motors,
or other electrical signal wires. Do not put sensor or signal cables in conduit
that contains AC power cables and motor cables.
Image above shows the wiring connection detail.
1- For 2 core wire, connect +VE (red) tinned wire with Number 1 terminal and -
VE (black) tinned wire with Number 2 terminal.
2- Connect ground wire with ground connection terminal if required.

Section : 4 Transmitter Calibration
4.1 Span Calibration
30-S Series comes factory calibrated. However, if user requires calibration,
potentiometer (POT1) is located on the top of the Sensor board. Following
procedure is required to set the span.
•Use a flat head screwdriver to turn the potentiometer
and adjust the span. Do not apply extreme force as it
may damage the potentiometer.
•Span adjust increase the linearity
throughout the range. User must release
all the pressure built up in transmitter
before performing span calibration. Make
sure to contact RCB representative if
proper calibration is required.
4.2 Offset Calibration
Potentiometer (POT2) in this series is for Zero Drift Calibration. 30-S Series
handles dynamic pressure over a longer period with minimal zero
drift.
•Unscrew the mechanical connections of the
pressure transmitter and make sure the
transmitter is not baring any pressure.
•Connect any 4-20mA process meter or
dataM Controller with the input circuitry
•Note down the valve of current at no
pressure and adjust the potentiometer with
a flat head screwdriver.
•Adjust the zero value at 4.00mA.
•Re-install the connector back on the
sensor and check the sensor for any anomaly. Connect RCB Team is
the problem persist.

Section : 5 Maintenance
5.1 General Guidelines
30-S Series requires little to no maintenance for its smooth
operation. Routine maintenance is recommended for ideal operation.
Periodical calibration check is required Calibration for this transmitter should
be checked periodically for measurement check.
•Hand tight the union nut of DIN valve connector to avoid breakage.
•Use 27mm sized wrench or spanner for tightening of transmitter in
threaded fittings female fitting.
5.2 Maintenance Parts
Maintenance / replacement parts for 30-S Series are available if
required. For any requirement of parts kindly contact the RCB Chemicals
representative. Damaged electronic PCB’s, PCB components, housing and DIN
valve connector can also be replaced if required. RCB’s corresponding
personnel will remain in contact until the issue is resolved.
* User defined connection threads can be provided on request. Only BSP and
NPT standard threads can be provided up to 1/2" size.
* Threaded fittings, threaded bushes or sockets can be provided on user
request.
