Note: The OEM Module installation is the same as the standard sensor kit, with
the exception thatit provides a separate lead (yellow)to activate your own relay
or lamp.
LIMITED WARRANTY
RCI Technologies hereby warrants the RCI Sensor and Indicator to the original
purchaser when installed following the written instructions provided by RCI at
the time of purchase, WARRANTY OFFERED HEREIN APPLIES ONLY
TO DEFECTS IN MATERIALS ANDWORKMANSHIP for a period of one
(1) year, 12 months from the date of purchase. The decision to repair or replace
parts covered herein to be at the sole discretion of RCI Technologies.
WARNING:
1. BOTH THE PURIFIER AND THE INDICATOR MUST BE GROUNDED.
2. ALWAYS USE A WIRE SIZE THAT IS RATED TO HANDLE THE
ELECTRIC LOAD (#16 OR HEAVIER WIRE IS REQUIRED)
3. GOOD ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS ARE IMPORTANT FOR
MAINTAINING ACCURATE SENSOR READINGS, AND AVOID HEAT
BUILD UP IN THE WIRING.
4. CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKS.
The RCI water sensor and indicator has been designed to operate when the RCI
fuel purifier is in need of purging. A buzzer followed by a red indicator light
will come on when the water level in the purifier reaches the sensor level. The
buzzer will last 10 seconds and the light will stay on until the unit is purged.
INSTALLATION:
1. Drain all fuel from the purifier, making sure it is empty.
2. Remove the factory-installed plug from the sensor port.
3. Wrap Teflon tape around the threads of the sensor probe (about 4 layers).
4. Carefully insert the probe into the sensor port on the purifier, making sure
the threads are not crossed, and tighten the sensor probe.
5. Insert the ground ring over the drain plug (or heater when equipped), then
rewrap with Teflon tape and reinstall. Connect ground wire to ground ring.
6. Refill the purifier with clean fuel. Check for fuel leaks.
You are now ready to proceed with the electrical connections.
1. Install the indicator gauge on the dashboard, control panel or other
convenient location.
2. Cut an appropriate length of wire from the wire supplied, or purchase a
sufficient length of #16 gauge wires to reach from the purifier to the back
of the indicator light.
3. Connect the green wire from the probe to the wire running to the indicator
light. Use electrical tape on all wire connections.
4. Run the black ground wire from the indicator light to the ground.
5. Run the red wire from the indicator light to a fused power source. It is
suggested that the power source be controlled by the ignition key or switch
so that power is supplied to the indicator only when the equipment is
operating.
PRECAUTION: Check for fuel leaks.
TESTING:
Remove green connector from probe and apply ground to the green lead. Red
LED light should activate. Remove ground. Alarm should restore. Replace
green connector to probe. Alarm is now ready.
This completes the installation of your sensor probe and indicator light. Start
the engine and top off the fuel level in the purifier by depressing the air relief
valve to remove all trapped air from the fuel system.
