PREFACE
Read t ese instructions carefully before putting t e
boiler into operation, familiarise yourself wit its control
functions, operation and strictly observe t e instructions
given. Failure to do so may invalidate warranty or pre-
vent t e boiler from operating.
T e installation and commissioning of t e boiler must be
carried out by a competent Engineer, wit t e relevant
certification i.e.: CORGI, ACOPS, IEE regs. On com-
pletion a copy of t e commissioning s eet s ould be
returned to Broag Ltd. for record purposes.
If you ave any questions, or if you need more informa-
tion about specific subjects relating to t is boiler or its
installation please do not esitate to contact us.

1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1.1 Symbols
T e following symbols are used in t is document to
emp asise certain instructions. T is is in order to
increase your personal safety and to safeguard t e tec -
nical reliability of t e boiler.
g Instructions must be followed closely to avoid
personal injury or serious damage to t e unit or t e
environment.
g Important!! Instructions are of essential
importance for t e correct functioning of t e unit.
w Indicates possible danger of electric s ock. Seri-
ous personal injury may occur.
i Instructions contain useful information.
Read and familiarise yourself with these instruc-
tions.
General Instructions
Keep unaut orised personnel away from t e boiler. Do
not place objects on or against t e boiler. Do not touc
ot water connections or t e flue outlet w en t e boiler
is operating – burn azard.
w Danger
T is boiler is connected to a 230v mains supply. An
improper installation or attempts to repair electrical com-
ponents or controls may result in life t reatening situa-
tions.
g Be aware of gas escapes
If you smell gas, close t e (main) gas cock and contact
t e emergency gas leak telep one number for your
area. DO NOT ISOLATE THE PO ER SUPPLY TO
THE BOILER OR ANY OTHER APPLIANCE.
g Be aware of flue gas leaks
If you smell flue gas fumes, turn t e boiler off and con-
tact your service company or installer.
g Be aware of water leaks
If you see water leaking from t e boiler, turn it off and
contact your Service Company or installer.
g orking on the boiler
Installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair
work must only be carried out by suitably qualified spe-
cialist. Engineer in accordance wit all relevant national/
local standards and certifications.
Always disconnect t e mains supply and close t e main
gas cock before working on t e boiler.
Casing panels s ould only be removed for mainte-
nance and servicing purposes.
Refit all panels on completion of maintenance or servic-
ing before putting t e boiler back into service.
Instruction and warning labels on t e boiler must
never be removed or covered and must be clearly leg-
ible t roug out t e entire service life of t e boiler. Dam-
aged or illegible instruction and warning labels must be
replaced immediately.
Generally applicable safety instructions related to acci-
dent prevention must be consulted in addition to t e
information supplied in t is tec nical documentation.
Boiler modifications and spare parts
T e boiler must not be modified or non-Reme a spare
parts fitted wit out t e express written approval of
Reme a.

2 GENERAL BOILER DESCRIPTION
T e Reme a Gas 210 ECO boiler is a pre-assembled,
free standing, gas fired, ig efficiency condensing
boiler.
T e sectional cast aluminium eat exc anger and ot er
major components are contained wit in a sealed air
box. T is forms t e main boiler casing wit a removable
inspection atc for maintenance purposes. All electrical
and electronic controls are contained wit in t e instru-
ment panel mounted on top of t e boiler.
T e flue gas outlet, combustion air inlet, flow, return and
gas connections are located on t e top of t e boiler wit
a condensate connection at low level on t e rig t and
side.
T e boiler is suitable for room sealed or open flue appli-
cations and as been designed for central eating and
indirect ot water production at working pressures not
exceeding 6 bar. It must be installed on a fully pumped
system and is suitable for use on bot sealed and open
vented installations (minimum operating pressure open
vented 0.3 bar).
T e pre-mix gas burner (NG only) wit its gas/air ratio
control system ensures clean, trouble free operation
wit ig er t an average efficiencies 109% (NCV) in
t e condensing mode combined wit ultra low NOX and
minimum CO emissions. T e standard control package
allows actual and set values to be read and adjusted
on t e built in digital display w ic also provides normal
operating and fault code indication.
An intelligent, advanced boiler control (‘abc®’) continu-
ously monitors t e boiler conditions, varying t e eat
output to suit t e system load. T e control is able to
react to external “negative” influences in t e rest of t e
system (flow rates, air / gas supply problems) maintain-
ing boiler output for as long as possible wit out resorting
to a lockout condition. At worst t e boiler will reduce its
output and/or s utdown (s ut off mode) awaiting t e
“negative” conditions to return to normal before re-start-
ing.
T e ‘abc®’ control cannot override t e standard flame
safety controls.
Every Reme a Gas 210 ECO is c ecked following
assembly by means of a test computer to ensure its
proper operation.
T e boiler meets t e requirements of t e EC regulations
of t e directives:

3.2 Operation principle
Combustion air is drawn into t e closed air box t roug
t e air inlet from t e plant room (open flued) or from
outside via t e eccentric flue system (room sealed) by
an air supply fan.
On t e inlet side of t e fan is a specially designed IMS
(Integrated Mixing System) gas / air ratio control unit
w ic takes gas from t e gas valve multiblock and
mixes it in t e correct proportions wit t e incoming air.
T e IMS-system includes regular auto-calibration (every
12 ours), w ic guarantees a constant air/gas ratio.
T erefore t is mec anical mixing system ensures t e
correct mixture is delivered to t e pre-mix burner at all
times.
Depending on demand (under t e dictates of flow/
return sensor and ot er external/internal control inputs)
t e 'abc®' system determines t e boiler output, w ic
directly controls t e volume of mixed gas and air to t e
premix burner. T is mixture is initially ignited by t e
combined ignition/ionisation probe, w ic monitors t e
state of t e flame. S ould t e flame be unstable or not
ignite wit in t e pre-set safety time cycle t e controls
will (after 5 attempts) s ut t e boiler down requiring
manual intervention to reset t e boiler. T e digital dis-
play will indicate a flas ing fault code confirming t e
reason for t e failure.
T e products of combustion in t e form of ot flue gases
are forced t roug t e eat exc anger transferring t eir
eat to t e system water (t e flue gas temperature is
reduced to approximately 5°C above t e temperature of
t e system return water). T en t ey are disc arged via
t e condensate collector, vertically t roug t e 150 mm
connection to atmosp ere.
Because of t e low flue gas exit temperature t ere will
be a vapour cloud formed at t e flue gas terminal - t is
is not smoke, simply water vapour formed during t e
combustion process.
If t e controls allow t e flow and t erefore return tem-
perature to fall below dew point (55°C) t is water vapour
will begin to condense out in t e boiler, transferring its
latent eat into t e system water, increasing t e output
of t e boiler wit out increasing t e gas consumption.
Condensation formed wit in t e boiler and flue system
is disc arged from t e boiler to an external drain via t e
drain pan / sip on supplied.
T e boiler can be supplied, as an option wit a
second (fixed temperature) return connection. T is
additional connection enables t e boiler to make full use
of its condensing ability w ilst accepting bot fixed and
variable temperature returns from t e same system.

5 EFFICIENCY INFORMATION
5.1 Annual efficiency
Up to 108.2% at Hi (up to 97% at Hs) at an average
water temperature of 35°C (40/30°C).
5.2 Heat to water efficiency
a. Up to 98% at Hi (88% at Hs) at an average water
temperature of 70°C (80/60ºC).
b. Up to 109% at Hi (98% at Hs) at an average water
temperature of 35°C (40/30ºC).
5.3 Standing losses
< 0.3% at Hi (0.33% at Hs) at an average water tem-
perature of 45°C.

6 APPLICATION INFORMATION
T e Gas 210 ECO can be used on all new and refur-
bis ment projects in bot single and multiple configu-
rations. Conventional and room sealed flue system
capability means t at t e boiler can be sited almost any-
w ere wit in a building. T e Reme a range of weat er
compensators (options) are able to communicate
directly wit t e boiler controls to make full use of its
fully modulating feature, ensuring t at t e boiler closely
matc es t e system demand at all times. External con-
trol systems (BMS) can be interfaced wit t e boiler to
provide on/off - ig /low or modulating (0-10V) control
options.
7 CONTROL AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT
7.1 The instrument panel
7.1.1 General
T e boiler is supplied wit a standard set of defaults
pre-programmed for normal operation but can be
tailored by t e Engineer to suit most site conditions.
T ese values are set and read using t e built in control
panel or wit a note book computer (wit optional
software and interface).
For security t e control as t ree levels of access:
1. User level - free access
2. Service level - access wit service code by qualified
personnel
3. Factory level - access by PC wit factory code
(Reme a only).
7.1.2 Layout of the instrument panel

7.1.3 Indication LED's

7.1.4 Manual override (hand/auto or forced modes
'high' and 'low')
Some of t e keys on t e instrument panel ave a dou-
ble function.
- Normal function - program input (see par. 7.5 and
7.6)
- Manual override - (during t ese modes as described
below t e flow temperature cannot exceed its pre-set
maximum).
Hand/auto
W en t e [-]-key is pressed and eld for 2 seconds t e
boiler will run, even if external controls are not calling for
eat. T e green LED above t is key (in t e h-symbol)
will illuminate indicating manual override.
By pressing and olding for 2 seconds t e [-]-key, t e
boiler will return to normal (auto control).
g Attention: A (system) pump that isn't
connected to the terminal strip of the boiler control
will not be activated!
Forced mode 'high' (h [[)
By pressing t e m and [+]-key simultaneously in oper-
ating mode during 2 seconds, t e boiler will run at
maximum power. T e letter h will now appear on t e
display.
By pressing t e [+]- and [-]-keys simultaneously, t e
boiler will return to operating mode.
Following a manual override t e boiler will return to
normal (auto control) if no keys are used wit in a
15-minute period.
Forced mode 'low' (l [[)
By pressing t e m and [-]-key simultaneously in operat-
ing mode, t e boiler will run at minimum power. T e
letter l will now appear on t e display.
By pressing t e [+]- and [-]-keys simultaneously, t e
boiler will return to operating mode.
Following a manual override t e boiler will return to nor-
mal (auto control) if no keys are used wit in a 15-minute
period.

7.1.5 Display of values with more than two digits
T e display as only two digits available t erefore val-

- negative values will be indicated by a dot be ind t e

7.4 Shut-off mode (b XX)
g Important!! T e s ut-off mode is a special
operating mode due to an abnormal situation. During
s ut-off, t e code window displays b and t e t -win-
dow indicates t e s ut-off code.
T e boiler control will, at first, try several times to start
de boiler again. If t is fails, t e boiler will go into a fail-
ure. T e boiler can only operate again w en t e causes
of t e s ut-off ave been removed.
A s ut-off may indicate a system problem or an incorrect
parameter setting.
In case of a eat-related s ut-off t e pump, if connected
to t e boilers control unit, will remain operational.
Table 05 details cause of s ut-off mode.

To prevent accidental, unaut orised access by non-qual-
ified persons t e control system requires an input code
to gain access to t e second level of boiler control.
- Press t e m- and s-keys simultaneously and old.
T e code-display now s ows a letter c wit a
random number in t e t-display.

- W ile olding bot keys pressed, set t e t-display
to 12, using t e [+]- or [-]-keys and press t e
e-key.
- T e display will flas twice, confirming acceptance of
t e access code.
- Release t e keys and c12 will disappear from t e
display.
You are now in the service mode.

7.6.5 Cycling prevention delay-time (()

stop / end of a eat demand to prevent cycling taking
place. W en after t is delay time flow temperature lies
less t an 5°C above return temperature (c eck on water
flow), t e boiler will restart.
7.6.6 Start and end point for analog signal (a and
B)
Start point (0 Volt): parameter a, adjustable between
-50°C and +50°C, factory setting 0°C.
T is value sets t e required flow temperature at 0 volt
signal input (restricted by t e min IMS setpoint).
End point (10 Volt), parameter B, adjustable between
+51°C and +299°C, factory setting 100°C.
T is value sets t e required flow temperature at 10 volt
signal input (restricted by t e maximum flow tempera-
ture setpoint and t e maximum output).

manual intervention.
