Headset Cable Assembly Instructions
Headset with Original Cable Using a screwdriver, detach the driver mount from the cup
Using low heat (~600 deg), de-solder the existing
leads from the driver
Set loose driver and respective mount asideRemove the earpad from the cup to expose the driver
Depending on your headset, temporarily detaching the
left (cable) cup from the headband will aid your work flow.

Depending on your headset, temporarily remove any
excess foam in order to fully expose cabling
Feed the tinned leads of your new headset cable
through the boot
Microphone box should measure about 6 inches from the end
of the boot (adjust to personal preference, but maintain
sufficient strain relief length for the tinned leads inside the cup)
In order to secure your new cable inside your headset,
utilize shrink wrap for extra grip under the zip-tie.
Pull original cable out of the cup. Leave the boot intact
Carefully remove any existing strain relief from original cable

Shrink wrap should sit about an inch down from the exposed
leads. The bottom of the shrink wrap, along with the
zip-tie, will sit on the edge of the boot inside the cup once
you are finished. Use pliers to pull the zip-tie very tight
When complete, the zip-tie should securely grip the shrink and
cable jacket (Clip off excess tail after the loop of the zip-tie)
Zip-tie should secure cable at edge of the boot inside the cup
Install the zip-tie to the shrink wrap around
the cable (close to the bottom edge of the shrink)
Prep the zip-tie with a preliminary loop

If applicable, a flathead screwdriver can help remove the
driver mounting ring from the mounting bracket
Solder the ground leg from the new cable first. Try to maintain the
same angle for all solder joints. New cable should
be soldered to the same specifications as the original cable
Leads should sit parallel to surface of driver to prevent breaking
Carefully tuck the cabling under the driver mount and
fold the driver over
Leads should have plenty of length for strain relief and tape
can be utilized to secure the driver in place for soldering
Re-install the driver mount to the inside of the cup

Secure the driver in place and be careful not to rotate Re-install earpad
Re-attach left cup to the headband
