RE124DG DSC®-to-GE® Wireless Translator™
Features
• Listens to DSC 433MHz protocol wireless devices.
• Transmits G protocol wireless.
• nrolls up to 63 devices.
• Unique wireless ID (or loop) for each zone, plus 1 for main device.
• All sensor alarm, supervisory and trouble signals are passed through.
• Dual antennas for both Receive and Transmit diversity for reliable range.
• Back-up battery operation.
• Complete supervision of tampers, external power supply fault and low battery.
Key Instructions
• WILL NOT HEAR OLD DSC 900MHz SENSORS such as: WLS907 WLS915
WLS914 WLS909 WLS929. Key hint is if old DSC system had the PC5132-900
PC5132-RS (900) or PC5349 (900 & 433) Receiver.
• Mount Translator at least 20 feet from Control Panel’s receiver.
• xternal supply: 12V DC at least 50 mA. NON-SWITCH D outlet.
Wire polarity DO S NOT matter!
• If only powered with batteries, Translator beeps once a minute
indicating loss of power.
• 3 AAA Alkaline batteries give 72 hours backup if external supply fails.
INSTALL BATT RI S ONLY WH N XT RNAL SUPPLY IS R ADY TO CONN CT.
• nrolling:
Sensors are enrolled both in the Translator and in the Panel.
1. Press Translator nroll switch repeatedly until Device Type L D
matches the type of device you’re enrolling. NROLLING AS
WRONG D VIC TYP CAN CAUS IMPROP R OP RATION.
2. Activate particular DSC sensor as follows:
o PIR: Tamper – NROLL PIRs FIRST (Used for PIRs and
Glass Break Sensors)
o Panic: Button
o Key Fob: Lower Right
o DWS: Tamper
3. Automatic responses:
o Green L D blinks indicating Translator received DSC-
compatible packets.
o Translator beeps indicating each enrollment into
Translator.
o Red L D blinks indicating transmit of G -compatible
packet to panel.
o The Translator transmits packets to the panel as soon as
it learns a new sensor.
o The panel, if it’s in enroll mode, will generally learn the
G -compatible packets simultaneously.
Translator itself is enrolled in panel by tamper switch on the board.
Suggest enrolling in Group 10 in panel. Translator itself never
alarms, but its health needs to be monitored like a regular DWS.
• Deleting sensors from Translator:
Delete all sensors:
1. Press enroll button repeatedly until all Device Type L Ds are off.
2. Press and hold enroll key for 5 seconds until beep.
Delete one Device Type:
1. Press enroll button repeatedly until target Device Type L D is lit.
2. Press and hold enroll key for 5 seconds until beep.

Operation
• xisting DSC protocol sensors transmit as usual. Translator passes
information on to control panel as if they were G transmitters.
xternal Contact on DSC DWS (don’t use any magnet) will act just
like the G DWS reed switch. The DSC sensor’s external contact does
not come through the Translator looking like a G sensor external
contact.
DSC fob: Lower left = Lights, lower right = panic (= G
double button press), although can be non-alarm in panel.
• Translator itself - wireless transmissions ( unique ID):
Tamper, when cover opened. Also sends restore.
Low battery, when low battery. Also sends restore.
Supervisory every hour. Supervisory stopped if 12V DC power absent.
Translator Module does not send any alarm signals about itself.
• L D Operation
Green L D
• On if 12V DC power present.
• Blinks on receipt of DSC-compatible packets.
Red L D
• On if device low battery (unless there’s no 12V DC
power).
• Blinks on transmit of G -compatible packets.

Under Industry Canada regulations, this radio transmitter may only operate using an antenna of a type
and maximum (or lesser) gain approved for the transmitter by Industry Canada To reduce potential
radio interference to other users, the antenna type and its gain should be so chosen that the equivalent
isotropically radiated power (e i r p ) is not more than that necessary for successful communication
satisfaisante
This radio transmitter (identify the device by certification number, or model number if Category II) has
been approved by Industry Canada to operate with the antenna types listed below with the maximum
permissible gain and required antenna impedance for each antenna type indicated Antenna types not
included in this list, having a gain greater than the maximum gain indicated for that type, are strictly
prohibited for use with this device
