3.1 Charging
Charge the device using a USB Type-C
charging cable via a power connector.
Charging time of the device is approximately
4 hours when using a fast charger, or 10

For optimal charging speeds, look for
chargers with 15W or 18W power outputs
with complying cables.
•The battery shall only be charged in non-hazardous areas.
•Make sure you are not in an explosive atmosphere.
•Do not leave Respiray Wearable Air Purifier plugged into its charger for more
than one week at a time. Doing so may shorten the battery life.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
Before cleaning the device, make sure it is turned off. To clean the device, gently wipe it with
a soft damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive cleaning products or detergents. To disinfect the
surface of the device, use medical alcohol and a microfibre cloth.
Be careful not to let any water inside the device, as this can damage the device.
Do not turn on the device before it is completely dry.
4.1.1 Cleaning the Face Shield
The face shield can be cleaned by using dish soap, warm water, and a soft cloth. After a
thorough cleaning, dry it by using a soft microfibre cloth. If you wish to sanitise your face
shield, 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes can be used. We recommend cleaning the face shield
after every use.
Do not use any household or window cleaners to clean the face shield as
that may damage it.
4.2 Battery
Respiray Wearable Air Purifier has an internal lithium ion (Li-ion) battery. The device has a
low battery alarm, which is triggered when the battery has approximately 10% left (3 beeps
with 1 second interval). When the battery voltage becomes extremely low, the purifier will
stop.
•Avoid mechanical shocks or impacts from any sharp or hard objects.
•Do not use or place Respiray Wearable Air Purifier in extreme heat, such as in
direct sunlight, near heat sources, etc. The battery will be damaged if its
temperature rises above 100°C
•Do not dispose of Respiray Wearable Air Purifier in a fire.
•Do not disassemble the product.

12
•Do not use Respiray Wearable Air Purifier if there are any signs of severe
mechanical damage.
IN THE EXTREMELY RARE CIRCUMSTANCE THAT BATTERY IS DAMAGED
AND ELECTROLYTE COMES IN CONTACT WITH EYES, FLUSH WITH WATER
IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK URGENT MEDICAL ATTENTION
4.3 Replacing the filter
As the filter is only there to keep dust and larger
particles away from our disinfection module, we only
recommend replacing it once a year. To replace the
filter, perform the following steps:
STEP 1: Screw off the two screws from the bottom of
the front unit of the device.
STEP 2: Pull out the filter frame.
STEP 3: Replace the filter and screw the cover back on.
One spare filter is included in the package and more can
be bought from our website (www.respiray.com) or by
contacting us at info@respiray.com. We recommend
using a vacuum in front of the filter cartridge once a
month to get rid of larger particles and hair.
4.4 Storing the device
The device should be stored at room temperature (18-
28°C) and in a low-humidity environment (30-50%
relative humidity). For longer storing periods, it is also
recommended to discharge the device to around 50%
(2 battery indicator lights turned on) to preserve the
battery. Do not store the device around combustible or inflammable objects.

5. Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does your device do?
Our product is a wearable UV air purifier that creates a clean air zone around the
wearer’s face without covering their face or restricting their breathing.
2. How does it work?
It uses UV-C light to inactivate airborne pathogens (viruses, bacteria, fungi, etc.). UV-C is
a specific range of invisible light that has been known to have disinfectant properties for
decades. UV-C radiation destroys the genetic material of the pathogens to the point
where they are unable to reproduce or multiply.
3. Is your device effective against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)?
The effectiveness of our disinfection module has been independently tested for S.
aureus and E. coli bacteria, resulting in 2.5 and 2.6 log reduction respectively (99.68%
and 99.89%) at 30 l/min throughputs. A UV-C LED manufacturer has run tests comparing
necessary light intensities to inactivate 99.9% pathogens and found that a similar UV-C
light dose was needed to inactivate both E. Coli bacteria and SARS-CoV-2 at 265 nm
(https://www.stanley-components.com/en/uvc_technology/). Other tests have also
shown that UV-C light is effective at inactivating SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).
4. UV light can be dangerous. How do you make sure that the device is safe?
Our parent company AS Ldiamon has over a decade of experience with optics and UV-C,
and also meets the standards for an ISO 13485:2016 certificate, meaning they are
internationally certified to manufacture and handle medical devices. Our device is
carefully shielded to be fully light-sealed, so no UV-C light can escape from the device.
Additionally, we have added numerous protective measures to ensure the safety of our
device.
5. UV light can produce ozone. Does your device produce any ozone?
Absolutely not. While at some wavelengths the energy of UV light is able to produce
ozone, this only happens at below 242 nm. The LEDs in our device emit a very narrow
range of UV-C light at 265 nm, which will produce no ozone. Furthermore, at
wavelengths of 242-315 nm, ozone is broken back into oxygen molecules instead,
reducing the ambient ozone in the air
(http://www.ccpo.odu.edu/SEES/ozone/class/Chap_5/index.htm). We
have also thoroughly measured our device with ozone metres to ensure that there are no
ozone emissions.
6. Is the device safe for kids?
Due to the size of the device, the device is not meant to be used by children under the

14
age of 12. Additional potential contraindications are described in Safety instructions of
the manual.
7. Should I be using the included face shield?
We recommend wearing the device with the face shield in most situations, as the shield
provides direct protection against coughs and sneezes. In lower-risk and stationary
situations, such as sitting alone at an office desk, the face shield is not necessary.
8. Are the included batteries replaceable?
No, currently the batteries are integrated and not replaceable. Please do not attempt to
separate the batteries from the casing or replace them.
9. How much air does the device clean?
The device cleans 30 litres of air every minute in Normal Mode, which is around 3-4
times more than an average person breathes in a minute. The maximum airflow of the
device is 55 litres of purified air.
10. Is the device water-resistant?
Our device is not water-resistant and is not meant to be used in humid or wet
environments.
11. How long do the UV-C LEDs last?
The UV-C LEDs in our device are expected to last for around 5 years with frequent use.
12. Can the device be used while charging?
Yes, the device can be used while charging.
13. What material is the device made of?
The casing is made out of high-quality PC/ABS plastic.
14. Are the straps replaceable?
As of now, the straps are not replaceable. However, they are made of high-quality
thermoplastic rubber and are expected to last for the lifetime of the product.
