TECH TIP
Make sure that the motorcycle battery is fully charged. Verify
that no moving parts will interfere with the components.
Do not route wires near sharp edges which could cut wires and
create a short. Do not mount components near high heat
sources such as the exhaust pipes. Do not install the RLINK
Module under any metal. The internal antenna can transmit
through fiberglass, leather, foam, or plastic.

7
Mounting
Select a suitable location under the seat or side cover that the
module can lay as flat as possible.
The RLINK harness has three wires. You’ll need to connect
these to your bike.
Red: Install the terminal ring of this wire directly to the battery
positive post.
Black: Install the terminal ring of this wire directly to the
battery negative post.

Switched power
RLINK requires proper installation of the switched power wire
to function correctly. Switched power is hot (12 volts) when the
ignition is on, zero volts when off. Common switched
power sources are the tail light, (NOT the brake light), the
license plate light, and some accessory plugs.

*Note - The switch power wire colors listed above may be dif-
ferent on your bike.
To be 100% sure you are connected to the correct wire, please
check connections with a volt meter or light tester. If you are
experiencing shock and tilt alerts while riding, you are con-
nected to an incorrect switch power wire, and you will need to
correct this, as it will affect tracking and notifications.

Locate the 12 volt switched wire source on your vehicle. The
most common applications are the tail light power wire
(not the brake light) or the license plate light power wire.
If attaching the RLINK white wire to any LED light sources,
Please ensure that you are connecting to the positive side.
Remove the cap on the open end of the Quick Connector
attached to the white wire of the installation harness. Insert
the switched power wire of the vehicle into the slot in the cap.
Tighten the cap back on to the Quick Connector ensuring the
pin penitrates the center of the wire you are connecting to.
White Wire with Positap connector:
Install this wire to a 12 volt switched source using the
provided Quick Connector.
For example: The tail light or license plate light power wire.

10
Plug in RLINK
Plug the installation harness into the RLINK module. Secure
the module with the included hook & loop/cable ties.

11
RLINK includes a back-up battery to protect your motorcycle
in case of theft. The back-up battery will power the device
when disconnected from power. To disconnect the device
without triggering the back-up battery, unplug the main
harness within 5 seconds of turning on the motorcycle’s
ignition.
This is also the Meathod to do a device reset.
1) Turn on the ignition switch.
2) Unplug the main harness within 5 seconds.
TECH TIP

12
Testing the installation
Once the harness is plugged in confirm that there are lights
illuminated on the RLINK module to confirm you have good
power and ground. Turn the ignition switch of the motorcycle
to the “on” position. Confirm that a red light is now illuminated
solid on the RLINK module.
Turn the ignition switch to the “off” position. Confirm the red
light is now blinking.
Note: the red right will start blinking after a few
seconds.
Note: Upon ingition off, the red light will blink for
a couple minutes as it enters powersave mode.

RLINK Modes
Tracking
By default, your RLINK system is always armed and prepared
to track movement and can be seen on the track screen of the app.
All rides are reported in the import ride section.
Theft Geofence
In addition, when your motorcycle’s ignition is turned to off,
RLINK automatically creates a 500 foot safe zone around your
motorcycle, in which RLINK will notify you via push notification
and SMS message (if SMS message is set up) if your motorcycle
is moved outside that area.
Share location (Real-Time Theft Tracking) PIN for
Authorities, or temporary sharing.
In the event that you generate a PIN via the “Share Location”
feature located in the REVER app, RLINK will
automatically track the motorcycle’s location. To provide
authorities or friends with temporary, real-time tracking of your
motorcycle, provide the url, track.rlink.com and the
temporary PIN located in the “Share Location” section of the
REVER App. All PINs provide access to the motorcycle’s real
time location via RLINK’s Tracking Map for 24 hours.*
Example - Generate a PIN, then take a ride, all new tracking
information for the RLINK device will be displayed for 24hrs.
*Note - The mapping will record and display any new tracking,
only after the PIN is generated. Using this to track a past ride will
not work. Please use the import ride function for past rides or current
location.

Online Mode
When your RLINK is online, it has actively communicated with
the RLINK server within the last 60 seconds. RLINK will enter
the online mode if your motorcycle’s ignition is on or upon
being woken up by detecting events, such as shock, tilt,
ignition on or battery disconnect.
Offline Mode
RLINK will go offline if it cannot establish a cellular connection
or if it has been disconnected from your motorcycle’s battery
and RLINK’s backup battery is emptied of its charge.
Power-Save Mode
RLINK uses advanced sensors and a sophisticated power-save
mode to minimize the draw on your motorcycle’s battery.
RLINK will automatically switch into power-save mode, without
sacrificing security, if it is idle for 2 minutes. Any theft event,
such as shock, tilt, ignition or theft geofence alert will change
RLINK’s status out of power-save mode and into active online
mode.
Pro Tip: To avoid losing connection to cellular, we recommend
that you avoid parking your motorcycle in parking structures
that can dampen cellular connectivity.
14

Transport Mode
Transport Mode allows you to turn off your RLINK system.
Use the app to enable Transport mode when performing
maintenance, trailering the motorcycle, or anytime you do not
want the alarm enabled.
WARNING: Your motorcycle is not protected when in
Transport Mode. Transport mode cannot be disabled remotely
from the REVER Mobile App. To turn off transport mode,
Quickly turn the ignition On/Off, which will turn on RLINK so
that it can attempt to secure a cellular connection.

Alerts States
Always Armed and Always Reporting
As stated above, the RLINK system is always armed and
prepared to report to you about possible theft events and an
actual theft itself. Therefore the RLINK device will always report
events it detects to the RLINK Server.
Master Alerts On/Off vs. RLINK Alerts Settings
RLINK’s Alerts On/Off feature acts as a toggle switch to enable or
disable the specific RLINK alerts you have configured in RLINK’s
Alerts Settings section in the REVER app.".
Theft Geofence and Battery Disconnect
Designed to prevent theft, RLINK will always report to owners
via SMS message (if phone number is
entered) theft geofence alerts and battery disconnect alerts,
whether alerts are on or off.
Disable Alerts with Ignition On Event
Alerts are disabled when the motorcycles ignition is turned on
and will revert back to the alert state set by the RLINK Owner via
the REVER app once motorcycle ignition is returned to off. The
power of this feature is that you, as an RLINK owner can choose
to always have alerts on, having a truly always on alerts system
while being able to ride without receiving alerts.
17

Back-up Battery
RLINK has a built in back-up battery to power the device if a
thief attempts to disconnect the battery.
The following steps are required to properly disconnect the
RLINK smart device without triggering the back up battery:
Turn on the ignition switch.
Unplug the main harness within 5 seconds.
Warning: Unplugging the RLINK device without following
these steps will result in unwanted SMS and push alerts as well
as unnecessarily draining the back up battery.
Pro Tip: If you are concerned that a thief may turn on your
bike and ride off without you noticing, dont be. In RLINK’s
Alerts Settings section, configure ignition alerts “on” to be
alerted anytime RLINK detects your motorcycle’s ignition state
being turned on.
18

Sensitivity Level
The sensitivity level of your RLINK device can be adjusted in the
RLINK Settings section of the REVER app. Please note, to adjust
the sensitivity level, your motorcycle must have its ignition on.
Firmware Updates
RLINK can receive over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates when
new features are released.
You can see any available RLINK firmware updates in the RLINK
Settings section of the REVER app to view any available
updates.
If a new RLNK firmware is available, you can initiate a firmware
update directly through the REVER app. To successfully start
the firmware update, the device must be online with your
motorcycle ignition set to off. To achieve this state, we
recommend turning on your motorcycle and then immediately
turning off your motorcycle and waiting for the device to
successfully complete a cellular connection with the RLINK
Server. You can confirm the RLINK smart device is connected
through the REVER app.
19
