SwitchingtheBacklitONandOFF:
TheinstrumentisprovidedwithuserselectableBacklitformeasurements
inpoorlightconditionsordarkarea.
Bypressing“AUTO/MAN”and“DATA/MIN/MAX”keyssimultaneouslythe
BacklitcanbeswitchedON.
AndbypressingthesamekeyssimultaneouslyBacklitcanbeswitched
OFF.
Althoughthemaindisplayisactivatedimmediatelyafterthemultimeteris
switchedon,thetwosub-displaysmustbeactivatedwiththeMIN/MAXkey.
Thispreventsthecontineousdisplayofanundefinedconditionwhichwas
presentatthestartofmeasurement,e.g.open-circuit,asamaxi-mum
value.
Thethreedigitaldisplays,onemaindisplayandtwosub-displays,showthe
measurementvaluewithcorrectdeci-malpointandsign.Theselectedunit
ofmeasureandthecurrenttypearealsodisplayed.Aminussignappearsin
frontofthenumberforthemeasurementofzero-frequencydirectquantities,
ifthepositivepoleofthemeasuredquantityisappliedtoperpendicular
input.
OL”(overload)isdisplayed,iftheactualvaluefallsbelowthemeasuring
rangelowerlimitforthefollowingmeasuredquantities:VDC,IDC,

isrequiredfortestingthemeasuringpointwiththetestprobes.
Afterthemeasurementvaluehasbeenacquired,andtheappropriate
“condition”hasbeenfulfilledaccordingtothefollowingtable,the
measurementvalueisdisplayedinthelefthandsub-displayandtwo
acousticsignalsounds.Atthesametime“MAN”appearsand
indicatesthatthemeasuringrangeisnowset.Thetestprobescan
nowberemovedfromthemeasuringpointandthemeasurement
valuecanbereadfromthesub-display.Ifthemeasurementvaluelies
belowthelimitvalueshowninthetable,theinstrumentisreactivated
forthestorageofanewvalue;the“DATA”displayblinks.

Ifthenewlystoredmeasurementvaluedeviateslessthan0.33%of
themeasuringrangefromthefirstmeasurementvalue,theacoustic
signal(DATACompare)soundstwice.Ifitdeviatesmorethan0.33
%fromthemeasuringrange,onlyabriefsignalsounds.
