Assembly Mechanics
Th m chanics ar almost ntir ly pr ass mbl d and split up into four s ctions: rotorh ad, main fram , tail fram and tail tub .
Prior to th installation into th scal fus lag , th m chanics hav to b ntir ly ass mbl d, l ctronic compon nts install d, adjust d
and t st d. Aft r installation into th fus lag most of th h licopt r m chanic b com inacc ssibl .
Step 1 – Rotorhead
Slid th rotorh ad onto th main shaft. Us scr w (70-00006)
and nylon nut (70-00007) to s cur th rotorh ad onto th
main shaft. Us two scr ws (70-00008) to additionally clamp
up th rotor hub onto th shaft as shown.
Mak sur th distanc b tw n th ball link and th L l v r is
qually at 24mm. Finally snap on th ball links (70-00025) on
th swashplat ’s upp r disc uni-links (70-00030).
Step 2 – Tail boom
First of all install th c nt r b arings (70-00100) with th
hold rs (02-02006) into th tail boom (70-00095). Distribut
th b arings v nly in th tail boom. It is r comm nd d to
apply a bit of lubrificant onto th tub s inn r surfac , ls wis
th b aring is lik ly to g t stuck b for th corr ct position is
r ach d. Th n install th c nt r support ring (600UH1-007),
th s rvo rod guid s (70-00040) and th s rvo two tail s rvo
hold rs (70-00098). Install th tail torqu tub (70-00096) into
th tail tub .
Th n ins rt th tail boom into th tail boom hold rs (70-00093,
70-00094). Lock th tub in plac with scr w M3x8 (70-00086)
via th clamp up and additionally with scr w M3x6 (70-00053)
as shown. Install th carbon support b ams (70-00104-70-
00106) on th main fram and th tail boom tail boom clamp
(600UH1-007).

Step 3 – Tail Servo nstallation
First of all, mount th hold r fram (70-00097) onto th boom
hold rs (70-00098) using scr w M3x8. Th n mount th tail
s rvo of your choic into th tail fram using scr ws M3x10,
wash rs and nylon nuts as shown. Install th s rvo horn and
th suppli d uniball. Th n slid th tail rotor control rod (70-
00103) into th four guid s. Install th ball link (70-) on both
nds of th tail rotor control rod. Distribut th guid s v nly
along th tail boom. Th n install th tail f nn stron fram onto
th tail boom. Lock it with th thr scr ws as shown, but do
not us thr ad lock y t, as it has got to b uninstall d again.
Snap th s rvo control rod onto th ball link.
Step 4 – Cyclic Servo nstallation
Install th thr cyclic s rvos onto th s rvo tray as shown.
D p nding on your s rvos, you may hav to us wash rs to
adjust th s rvo to th prop r installation h ight. It is strongly
r comm nd d to us m tal s rvo horns and only m tal g ar d
s rvos. Th multi blad rotor h ad can f dback forc s that
may l ad to failur of plastic compon nts.
Aft r th s rvos ar install d, you will hav to adjust th
linkag rods l ngth’s according to th sch matics b low. Th
distanc s ar uniball c nt r to uniball c nt r:
1=81mm 2=112mm 3=81mm

Step 5 – Adjust swashplate linkages
Th linkag s from th L-L v rs to th swash plat hav to b
s t at corr ct l ngth. Distanc s ar uniball c nt r to uniball
c nt r:
1=35mm
Step 6 – Motor and Belt installation
In ord r to install th motor, you must first disass mbl on of
th sid fram s in ord r to hav acc ss to th mounting scr ws
and acc ss to th b lt driv . H nc on sid fram s fast n rs
ar not tight n d upon d liv ry. B for installing th pinion
pull y on th motor, you hav to add a flat to th motor shaft
in ord r to s cur th pull y with th s t scr ws (70-).
Mount th motor as shown using wash rs and scr ws onto th
motor mount (70-00066). Mak sur to hav th motor wir
outl t facing into th right dir ction for conn cting th m to th
ESC. Th n ins rt th b lt pull y into th b lt and slid it onto
th motor shaft. B for you tight n th s t scr ws, mak sur
that th pinion is install d l v l d with th b lt pull y, th
distanc (Fig. 1) is at
24.5mm
.
Us both t nsioning scr ws to t nsion th b lt driv . Th b lt
mustn’t b t nsion d too tight to avoid unn c ssary w ar.

S condary Motor Support
C rtain motors with 25mm mounts and long output shafts can b outfitt d with a s condary motor shaft b aring.
Rout both th ESC pow r wir and th BEC wir from th batt ry compartm nt along th sid wall as shown towards th sid fram
of th m chancis.

Step 7 – Electrical Wiring and Setup
Th m chanics hav to b fully l ctrically s tup and adjust d
prior to installation into th fus lag . As th us of a 12S
(44.4V) s tup is n c ssary, w strongly r comm nd to run th
control quipm nt on a s parat 2S Lipo batt ry and BEC for
s curity r asons.
In scal configurations main batt ry pow r wir s may b
long r than on comparabl 3D h licopt r quipm nt. As HV
ESCs do not n c ssarily hav th main batt ry ground wir
conn ct d to th s rvo signal ground wir , it may b n c ssary
to cr at an additional conn ction b tw n th BEC 2S
batt ri s ground wir and th 12S main batt ry ground wir .
C rtain configurations without this ground int rconn ction
hav l d to a loss of signal at th ESC from th r c iv r du to
EMC ff cts.
Th swash plat is a r gular 120d g CCPM typ , pl as tak
your tim to adjust all s rvo trav ls, c nt r positions – th
ntir 3 axis gyro – s rvo – radio s tup prior to th installation
into th fus lag .
A 530KV motor such as th Align 750MX run at app. 90%
throttl (hov r) shows satisfying r sults. As spac is limit d,
pl as mak sur you ch ck th dim nsions if you int nd to
us oth r brand motors.
In r gards to th gyro s tup, w r comm nd to start with
standard valu s of th 3 axis gyro. Mak sur you install th
gyro in a way that provid s asy acc ss for conn cting your
programming quipm nt. As th scal fus lag adds additional
in rtia to ach axis, gyros ar normally to b s t at a low r gyro
gain. All in all, a rigid gyro r spons do s ruin th scal look in
flight.
B for op rating th mod l ch ck th following points:
-Th dir ction of s rvo rotation (including th throttl
function) and trav ls.
-Th dir ction of ff ct of th gyro, and th transmitt r mix r
functions you hav programm d.
-Coll ctiv pitch trav l (lin ar trav l -2/-3° to +9/+10°)
Th blad grips ar 14mm, th suppli d rotor blad s ar 12mm
thick. W suppli d PC wash r, pl as install on wash r on top
and on th bottom of th rotor blad wh n installing it to th
blad grip.
ATTENT ON !
When using the a pitch gauge to adjust correct CP travels,
make sure that the gauge lines up with the flat surface of the
rotor blade. Many pitch gauges do not show the correct angle
when snapped onto non symmetric rotor blades
!
Th main rotor blad s ar not symm trical. Do not try to fly
inv rt d.
- It is p rmissibl to r duc s rvo trav ls, but not b low 60%
(in this cas adjust th m chanical linkag ); trav ls should b
primarily symm trical.
- Apply coll ctiv pitch min. / coll ctiv pitch max. and full roll
and pitch-axis commands simultan ously in all dir ctions;
rotat th rotor h ad at th sam tim , and ch ck that at th
xtr m s of trav l no part of th rotor h ad is obstruct d.
- Th auto-rotation switch must b assign d, and within asy
r ach!
- Wh n auto-rotation is s l ct d: throttl position to off, all
dir ctions of control and trav ls as in normal flight, tail rotor
to 0° = fix d valu .
-Th first f w batt ri s should b flown with th mod l clos
to th ground, i. . no mor than about 1m altitud , until you
ar confid nt that th r ar no d f cts or rrors, and that
v rything is working faultl ssly:
- Us your ars critically (!), list ning for unusual sounds and
vibration, and s k out th probl m if you ar in any doubt at
all!
- Don’t list n to anyon standing clos by if th y try to hurry
you into flying th mod l.
- Avoid hov ring outsid ground ff ct (hov r altitud with a
mod l: approx. 1m, or half th rotor disc diam t r):
- Hov ring r quir s v ry high pow r, and you ar compl t ly
d p nd nt on th motor: in contrast to most full-siz
h licopt rs, mod l h licopt rs hav only on (!) pow r plant.
