WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or serious personal injury, before first use, make
certain that all packaging materials have been removed from the toaster. Check both toaster slots for
packing materials.
NOTE:
Heat up the toaster the first time with nothing in the Bread Slots (1) to allow the heating
elements to burn off any dust which may have accumulated during factory assembly and shipping.
1. Ensure the Crumb Tray (2) is in place and that the Bread Carriage (3) is in the “bread up” position.
2. Set the Toaster on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from the edge of the counter and at least four
to six inches away from the wall or rear of the counter.
3. Plug the Power Cord (8) into a 230 Volt electric outlet.
4. Insert one or two slices of bread into the Bread Slots (1).
5. Turn the Light/Dark Selector (7) to the desired position.
NOTE:
The higher the number the darker the toast will be. Until familiar with the settings, start
with a lower number.
6. Press the Bread Carriage Lever (3) down until it locks into position.
7. When the toasting cycle is completed, the toast will pop up. To interrupt the toasting cycle, press
the Cancel Button (6).
8. When finished using the Toaster, unplug it from the electric outlet.
Toasting Notes:
Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying the bread. Moisture levels differ from one bread to
another, resulting in varying toasting times.
•For slightly dry bread, set the Light/Dark Selector (7) to a low number.
•For fresh bread or whole wheat bread, set the Light/Dark Selector (7) to a high number.
•Breads with uneven surfaces (e.g., English muffins) require a higher setting.
•Thickly cut pieces of bread (e.g., Bagels) will require longer toasting times, sometimes significantly
longer, since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toasting occurs.
•Very thick pieces may require two toasting cycles.
•When toasting raisin or other fruit breads, remove any loose raisins or fruit pieces from the surface of
the bread before placing it into the toaster. This will help prevent pieces from falling into the toaster
or sticking to the guard wire in the slot.
•To toast a single slice of bread, set the Light/Dark Selector (7) to a low number.
Reheat Button:
1. Insert one or two slices of bread.
2. Press the Bread Carriage Lever (3) down until it locks into position.
3. Press the Reheat Button (4). The red LED will illuminate next to the Reheat Button (4).
4. When the cycle is complete, the Bread Carriage Lever (3) will raise the toasted item.
5. To stop the toasting cycle before it is finished, press the Cancel Button (6).
