About Your Dishwasher
Yourdishwashercleansby sprayinga mixtureof hot,cleanwateranddetergentagainstthe soiled
surfacesofyourdishesand tableware.Eachcyclestartswith a pre-drain.Next,the dishwasherfillswith
waterto a levelslightlyabovethe heatingelement.Thiswater isconstantlypumpedthroughthe rotating
sprayarmand centerwashtowerand sprayedontothe dishes.Soiledwater ispumpedout and replaced
withcleanwater duringa cycle.The numberofwaterfillsdependsuponthe cyclebeingused.

Waterpressureshouldbe between15and 120poundspersquare

l Motorsoundswill be heardbeforewaterentersthe tub.
COLOREDALUMINUM,CASTIRONANDBONEHANDLEDITEMS,HAND-PAINTEDCHINA,WOODEN,PLASTIC,AND

Cleaningthe Pumpand SprayArms
Yourdishwasheris designedto flush awayall normalfoodsoilsthat
maynot havebeenremovedfromdishes.However,certainforeign
objectssuchasfruit pits,bottlecaps,andbonesmaycollectin the
openingsof the pumpand shouldbe removedperiodicallyto avoid
cloggingthe drain system.
CAUTION:ALLOWMACHINETO COOLBEFORECLEANING!
1.Holdlowersprayarmandturn towerbasecounter-clockwiseto
unscrew.
2. Liftout towerandsprayarm.
3. Removeany objectsthat havecollectedin the pumpopeningsor
outlets.
4. Replacesprayarm.Replacetowerbaseandtightensecurely.The
sprayarmandtowershouldrotatefreely.
DrainAir Gap
Ifthe installerofyourbuilt-indishwasherinstalledanairgapin the
drainsystem,it shouldbecheckedperiodicallyto makesureit is
clean.Airgapsareusuallymountedonthecountertopor inthewall
abovethedishwasherandcanbeinspectedby removingthecover.
