SECTION 1: Product Overview
1.1 Introduction
The adapter is an 802.11ac client device designed to deliver high-speed
wireless performance for your computer. With a faster wireless connection,
you can get a better internet experience, such as downloading, gaming, and
video streaming. The incredible speed makes it ideal for handling multiple data
streams at the same time, which ensures your network remains stable and
smooth.

SECTION 2: Quick Installation Guide
Please install the adapter into your computer before installing the driver from
the Resource CD.
2.1 Hardware Installation
2.2 Software Installation
Insert the adapter into an empty USB 3.0 port of your computer or connect by
using the USB cradle provided.
The adapter’s Setup Wizard will guide you through the installation procedures.
The procedures in different Windows systems are similar; therefore we have
presented the procedures in Windows 10 as an example.
Note:
Please uninstall other Wi-Fi drivers before installing the driver. Installing two or
more Wi-Fi adapter drivers in one PC may cause conflicts between the drivers
and cause the Wi-Fi adapter to fail to work. You can find the installed Wi-Fi
adapter drivers and uninstall from the Control Panel -> Install and Uninstall
Software.

Follow the steps below to install the driver on your Windows PC:
Insert the resource CD into your CD-ROM drive.
AutoRun window will pop up, click “Driver Installation” to begin.
*Browse the CD, if AutoRun window does not pop up. Double-click “Autorun.
exe” to start installation.
The InstallShield Wizard will start installing the driver automatically.

After the driver and utility are installed successfully, you must reboot your
computer.
After restarting the computer, the Wi-Fi icon will appear at the lower-right
side in your system tray. To connect to a network, please refer to Section 3:
Connect to a Wireless Network.

SECTION 3: Connect to a Wireless Network.
With both the hardware and software successfully installed into your computer,
you can quickly connect to a wireless network using one of the following
methods.
The procedures in different Windows systems are similar; therefore we have
presented the procedures in Windows 10 as an example.
WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) function allows you to add a new wireless device
to an existing network quickly. By this method, you can connect to your network
quickly on the condition that your router or access point supports WPS (or
QSS, as is called by some products). You can establish a wireless connection
between wireless adapter and router using either Push Button Configuration
(PBC) method or PIN method.
3.1 Connect Using WPS
Windows users may use the built-in wireless utility to join a wireless network.
Follow the steps below:
Click the network icon at the bottom of your screen. A network
list will appear. Select your target SSID, and click “Connect”.

When “Connected” appears under the SSID, you have successfully connected
to the target network.
If the network is unencrypted, you will directly connect to it. If the network is
encrypted, enter the network password when prompted.

SECTION 4: Utility Configuration
If you need to connect to different wireless access points at different times,
including access point of your home, office, cyber cafe, or public wireless
service, you can store the connection parameters (encryption, passphrase,
security, etc.) as a profile for every access point, so you don’t have to input
these parameters every time when you want to connect to a specific wireless
access point.
To manage profiles, right-click on the Client Configuration Utility icon located in
the lower-right corner of computer desktop, click “Open Config Utility” and select
the “Profile” menu.
Note: Client Utility is not applicable on Windows 8.1.

With this function, you can set up the connection parameters for a specific
wireless access point in advance, without contacting it first. If you want to create
a new profile, click “Profile” menu and click “Add”.
You’ll be prompted to input connection parameters for the wireless access point
you wish to connect. When all required
parameters are set, click “OK” to create
and save a new profile.

Please click “OK” when ready.
Profile Name You can give a name to this profile, so you can remember its
purpose easily. It can be any phrase to help you remember.
Network Name
(SSID)
The SSID (Service Set Identifier, i.e. access point’s name). This must
be identical with the SSID of the access point you wish to connect.
This is a
computer-to-
computer (ad
hoc) network
Check this box if you wish to connect to another computer/network
device by ad hoc method. When not accessing wireless access
point, you have to check this box.
Channel Select wireless channel for ad hoc connection. This option only
appears when you’re using ad hoc connection.
Network
Authentication
Select the network authentication type from drop-down menu. This
setting must be identical with the setting of wireless access point you
wish to connect.
Data Encryption
Select the data encryption type from drop-down menu. This setting
must be identical with the setting of wireless access point you with to
connect.
ASCII /
PASSPHRASE
When the encryption type is “WEP”, it’s required to input a
set of “PASSPHRASE” to connect to wireless access point.
Check “ASCII” or “PASSPHRASE”, depending on the security
setting of access point, and input into the box; if you select
“PASSPHRASE”, you also need to select the length of the key. The
passphrase must be identical with the setting of wireless access
point you wish to connect.
Key Index Select WEP key index. For most access points you can select “1”,
but please refer to the setting of the access point.

When the encryption type is “WPA” or “WPA2-PSK”, it’s required to
input a set of “PASSPHRASE” to connect to wireless access point.
Please input the same passphrase in two boxes for confirmation.

You can remove existing profile when you no longer need it. Click “Profile”
menu, select an existing profile which you wish to remove, and then click
“Remove”.
To change the content of a profile, select
a profile from the list first and click “Edit”.
You’ll be provided with the contents
of selected profile. Click “OK” to save
changes, or click “Cancel” to discard
changes.

This function is convenient when you need to build a new profile with
parameters that are similar to any existing profile. To do this, select an existing
profile, then click “Duplicate”. You’ll be prompted to input a profile name; please
use a name that does not exist in profile list.
If you wish to use a specific profile as default connection, you can select a
profile in the list, and click “Set Default”. Selected profile will become default
selection and Client Configuration Utility will attempt to connect to selected
access point.

The configuration utility provides information about network link status. If you
want to know how your wireless network adapter works, you can use these
functions to get detailed information about the wireless connection you’re using.
4.2 View General Information and Network Status
If you want to know the general information of the access point you’re
connecting to, click “General” menu.
Clicking the “Status” menu
allows you to check the
status of your wireless
network card here.
All general information like signal strength and link quality will be displayed
here. The information is very useful when you encounter some problems with
connecting to access point.
If you wish to get a new IP address from DHCP server, you can click “ReNew
IP”.

Client Configuration Utility provides functions you can access from the bottom
of configuration menu:

Description of Functions:
Show Tray Icon Check this box to show an icon on system tray.
Uncheck this box to hide it.
Radio Off Switch wireless radio off. Wireless network functionalities
are disabled.
Disable Adapter
Disable wireless network adapter. All functionalities of
configuration menu will disappear. To resume, uncheck
“Disable Adapter”.
Virtual Wi-Fi
Allowed
Start virtual Wi-Fi SoftAP. This function can extend
wireless coverage and share internet connection with
others.

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is the latest wireless network technology that
makes wireless network setup very simple. If you have WPS-enabled wireless
access point and you want to establish a secure connection to it, you don’t have
to configure the wireless access point and set up data encryption by yourself.
Just follow 3 simple steps: go to the WPS setup page of this wireless adapter,
click a button, then press a specific button or enter an 8-digit code on the
wireless access point you wish to establish a secure connection.
This wireless network adapter is compatible with WPS. To use this function,
the wireless access point you wish to connect to must support WPS functions.
Please follow the instructions below to establish secure connection between
WPS-enabled wireless access point and your wireless network adapter
(wireless network adapter only supports PIN code method).
4.4 Establish Secure Connection with AP by WPS

Right-click Client Configuration Utility icon, and click “Open Config Utility”.
Click “Wi-Fi Protect Setup” menu and click “Pin Input Config (PIN)” button.

You’ll be prompted to select an access point you wish to connect. If you know
its SSID, click “Yes”, otherwise click “No”.
If you select “Yes”, a list of all WPS-compatible AP nearby will be displayed;
you can click “Refresh” to rescan, then “Select” to choose an AP.
If you select “No”, wireless network adapter will prompt you to enter 8-digit PIN
code into your AP, without selecting an AP in advance.
After you select “Yes” or “No” in previous step, network adapter will attempt to
connect to WPS-compatible AP, and an 8-digit number will appear. Please input
this number to AP’s configuration menu within 2 minutes, and network adapter
will establish secure connection with AP automatically.
