Air that is too dry can cause or aggravate sinus and respiratory problems, lead to dry skin, nose
and throat and dry out plants and furniture.
Your humidifier is an effective device for diffusing water vapor in the surrounding air.
Humidity, which is expressed as Relative Humidity (HR), is the quantity of vapor present in the
air expressed as a percentage of the maximum quantity of vapor that the air can hold at the
same temperature without causing condensation.
Relative Humidity is measured with a hygrometer:
• RH <50%: the air in the room is too dry.
• RH between 50 and 60%: the air is considered healthy.
• HR> 60%: the air is too humid.
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
Your humidifier uses two complementary humidifying systems:
• A cold vapor system: a ceramic disc that vibrates at an ultrasonic frequency to create tiny
water droplets.
• Pre-heated mist system (95°F) for anti-bacterial and turbo effects: a heating tube generates
water vapor (only on HU5120 model).
It can thus be used to automatically increase the level of humidity of the surrounding air and it also
has an electronic hygrometer for precise control of the Relative Humidity.
LOCATION
The use of a humidifier is particularly recommended in winter but the house should still be re-
gularly aired.
First, place the humidifier in the room requiring priority treatment. It is suitable for a room of
45m² [500sq ft].

When SELECT appears, the humidity level displayed is the required level that you have set the ap-
pliance to: between 40% and 75% RH or “Co” for a continuous operation (there is a safety stop sys-
tem if the humidity level in the room exceeds 90% RH).
When the “HOUSE” logo is visible without SELECT, the humidity level displayed is that of the area in
the room around the appliance.
PLEASE NOTE:This setting cannot be used for “Smart” modes.
WARNING: In the continuous operating mode, the humidity in the room can reach very high levels
that are not beneficial to health and can damage certain objects. The recommended optimal humi-
dity level is between 50 and 60% HR.
• Vaporisation speed: Button F for setting the vaporisation speed;
Select the required vaporisation speed by pressing button F several times. There are three vaporisa-

MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT:
•This type of appliance requires regular and thorough maintenance. Like for any humidifier with
stagnant water, we recommend to clean approximately every 1-2 weeks (depending on use) to
avoid bacteria proliferation.
• Regular cleaning of the ceramic disk will avoid scaling.
•You must always switch off and unplug your appliance before undertaking any maintenance on it.
It is important to clean the water tank, the vaporisation area (around the ceramic disk) and the intake
grills located under the appliance regularly.
• Cleaning the tank:
1- Remove the demineralization cartridge and rinse it in fresh tap water only.
2- Clean the tank and the tank stopper using soapy water and dry it with a soft dry rag.
3-To clean the inside of the tank, pour a little water into it and shake vigorously. Empty and dry with
a soft dry rag.
• Cleaning the vaporisation compartment:
1- Remove the tank.
2- Fill the vaporisation compartment half with water and half with white vinegar (4% acetic acid).
3- Leave the mixture for a minimum of 4 hours so that it can take effect.
4- Empty and remove the scale using a soft damp rag.
5- Rinse out the whole of the compartment with fresh tap water (Important, make sure that no water
gets into the blower opening (10).
CAUTION:
• Never use detergents, scouring products or abrasive cleaners for cleaning the appliance as these are
likely to spoil the appearance of your device. Instead, clean your appliance with a slightly moist rag.
• Never use hard or abrasive ustensils to clean the ceramic disk so as not to damage it.
• Never immerse the base of the appliance, the power cord or plug in water or any other liquid.
• Demineralization cartridge:
On average the demineralization cartridge should be replaced every 1 to 3 months. This interval can
be shorter or longer depending on the hardness of the water. White dust around the appliance is a
sure sign that the cartridge needs replacing.
*Kills 100% of Escherichia Coli and Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria representing most of the bacteria known to
exist after 30 minutes of use - under normal conditions of use – tests carried out by an independent laboratory.

INTHE EVENT OF A PROBLEM

Type of problem Points to check
The appliance does not work when switched on Is the low water level indicator blinking?
Positioning of the appliance (tilt). Positioning
of the tank. Connection of the appliance.
Required water level not yet reached in the
vaporisation compartment (wait a few moments).
The humidification capacity is too low Doors and windows are closed.
Vaporisation rate too low.
Obstruction of the intake grills and nozzle.
The ambient humidity is too high Relative humidity setting.
Condensation in the room The room temperature is too low.
The appliance is too noisy Place the appliance on a flat and stable surface
The appliance stops Programmed operating period has run out.
Is the water level indicator blinking?
Optimum humidity level set.
The pre-heated mist function doesn’t produce
any warm humidity
Even if the water is heated in the base, the mist
produced doesn’t feel warm due to the fact it is
so fine and is cooled rather quickly from the air
in your home.
There is white dust around the appliance This is a sure sign that the cartridge needs
replacing. If white dust still accumulate around
the product despite the change of the anti-calc
cartridge or if you live in a hard water area,
use preferably distilled water.
There is a difference between the humidity
level read by the humidifier and the one read
by an external hygrometer
Not all hygrometers are calibrated the same,
and most are off by +/- 5%. Moreover, the humi-
dity level is not the same in the whole room as
the air circulation is different in every corner of
the room. Besides,do not place the device near
a heater or a radiator as the heat will absorb
all of the moisture.”
