Multi-line Voice Terminal — 4610 Quick Reference Guide
CALL PROCESSING
TO PLACE A CALL
Pick up the handset, or press SPKR.
— If you are using a headset touch the headset button
to dial out and disconnect.
Dial the 6-digit extension number or dial 9 and the
outside number.
TO ANSWER A CALL
When the phone rings, either pick up the handset or
press the SPKR button.
— If you are using a headset, touch the headset button
to answer a call and disconnect.
BASIC FEATURES
CONFERENCE
To add another party to a call which is already in progress
(for a total of six parties, including yourself):
Press Conference.
Dial number of new party.
— If there is no answer or the line is busy, press Drop
and return to the call by pressing its call appearance
button.
Press Conference again.
Repeat steps 1 through 3 for each additional party to
be added to the call.
To add a call you have put on hold to another call.
Press Conference.
— You are given a new call appearance.
Press the call appearance of call on hold (rst call).
Press Conference again.
DROP
Used to drop the last party on a conference call, or obtain
new dial tone if a mistake is made dialing during a transfer or
conference.
HOLD
To put a call on hold:
Press the Hold button.
To answer a new call while active on another:
Press the Hold button.
Press the call appearance of incoming call.
To return to held call:
Press call appearance of held call.
MUTE
To prevent the other person on the call from hearing you:
Press MUTE.
Press MUTE again to resume conversation.

REDIAL
Allows a user a choice of dialing out the last number called or
displaying a list of the last three numbers called.
Press the OPTIONS softkey to administer redial options.
TRANSFER
To send present call to another extension:
Press Transfer.
Dial number where call is to be transferred.
Press Transfer again.
PROGRAMMED FEATURES
ABBREVIATED DIALING ON A SD BUTTON
To program and label a SD button on your station:
Press the Abrv Prog button or dial *16.
Press the SD button.
Dial in the speed dial entry number, include a 9 if it is an
outside number.
Press #.
— Use the Label feature, in the Options menu on the
second screen, to label the speed dial button.
CALL PARK
To park a call at your extension (for retrieval at any
extension):
Press the CALL PARK button. <conrmation tone>
To retrieve a parked call from any extension:
Touch the PARK RETRVL button.
Dial the extension you were at when you parked the call.
If the receptionist parks a call for you:
Press PARK RETRVL.
Dial your own extension number.
DIRECTORY
Used to search the database for a telephone number.
Press DIRECTORY.
Enter last name using the letters above the numbers on
the keypad.
Press Next to show next name.
Press MAKE CALL or CALL DISPLAY to dial the
displayed entry or press PHONE/EXIT to leave the
directory mode.

SEND CALLS
A do not disturb feature that sends all your calls immediately to
voice mail.
To activate send all calls:
Press Send Calls.
To cancel send all calls:
Press Send Calls.
VOICE MAIL SPEED DIAL
Used to access the voice mail system.
Press the VOICE MAIL button.
Follow the prompts to access your mailbox.
OPTIONS MENU
There are 3 options on screen 1, 2 and 3; and 2 options on
screen 4. Use the PAGE RIGHT and PAGE LEFT buttons to
scroll between the screens, use the soft button Save to save
changes.
Press Phone/Exit button to exit Options menu.
SCREEN 1
Applications Options:
Redial — provides two redial choices; last number
or last three numbers dialed.
Phone screen on answer — when the option is
yes, the phone screen appears in the display area
when receiving a call.
Phone screen on calling — when the option is
yes, the phone screen appears in the display area
when making a call.
Call timers — when the call timer option is set
to yes, the time is displayed on the active call
appearance.
Message display rate — a call server may send
messages to your station the rate can be adjusted
between fast and slow.
Visual alerting — when this feature is set to yes,
the message indicator will ash on incoming calls.
View IP settings — identies IP connections.
Network audio quality — troubleshoots network delay
and audio quality. This option is only displayed when
you are on a call.
SCREEN 2
Contrast Control — set the contrast control by touching
the Right or Left arrow softkey.
Feature button labeling — allows a user to re-label
their feature buttons.
Log Off — logs out the IP station.
SCREEN 3
Backup/restore — backs up your options preference
settings.
Select (alternate) Language — selects the language
you want your phone to display.
PC Ethernet Interface — allows you to specify
communications settings between your phone and PC.

SCREEN 4
AGC Settings — when enabled, microphone, headset
and handset volume is decreased as well as increased
to maintain comfortable levels.
Personal Ringing — allows a user to choose from eight
unique ring patterns.
SOFTKEY FEATURES
CALL LOG SCREEN
Allows a user to store entries in a log that can display
incoming and outgoing call information. Each category can
contain 15 entries.
Viewing the Call Log:
Press the Log softkey.
Choose Missed, InAns, Outgo or Delete All.
Use the soft screen arrow keys to scroll through the Call
Log.
To view information about a specic entry, press the
button corresponding to the entry.
Press PHONE/EXIT to return the screen to normal.
— each Call Log can contain 30 entries.
Making calls from the Outgoing Call Log:
Press the Log softkey.
Press the Outgo soft key.
Use the arrow keys to scroll through the Call Log.
When you locate an entry you want to call, press the
button corresponding to the entry.
Press the Call softkey to make the call.
To save a call log entry to your speed dial list:
Press the Log softkey.
Choose Missed,InAns, Outgo.
Use the arrow keys to scroll the Call Log Summary.
When you locate an entry you want to save, press the
button corresponding to the entry.
Press the Add to SD softkey.
Do one of the following:
— to save the entry as shown, press Save.
— to edit the telephone number to include a 9 or add a
name, use the Left and Right arrow softkey, and then
press Save.
To delete an entry from the Call log:
Press the Log softkey.
Use the arrow keys to scroll through the call Log.
When you locate an entry you want to delete, press the
button corresponding to the entry.
Press the Delete softkey.
A prompt advising to Press Delete again is displayed.
Press Delete.

FEATURE BUTTON RELABELING
Press the OPTION button.
Select Relabel Feature button.
Press the feature button you want to re-label.
Use the dial pad to enter the new characters
Select Save to save the modied label.
SPEED DIALSCREEN
A feature that allows you to store 48 speed dial entries.
To program an entry:
Press the SpDial softkey.
Press the Add softkey
Using the dialpad, enter the name for your entry.
— your entry may be 10 characters.
— the Case softkey will enter an uppercase character.
When you are done entering a name, press the feature
button to the left or right of the Number eld.
Using the dialpad, enter the telephone number for this
entry, up to 25 characters, including special characters.
Press Save.
To edit an entry:
Press the SpDial softkey.
Press the Edit softkey.
Press the feature button corresponding to the entry you
want to edit.
Use the dial pad to make your changes.
Press Save when edit is complete.

MISCELLANEOUS FEATURES
SELECTING PERSONALIZED RING
To select a personalized ringing pattern for your set.
Press the Option key and the Page Left button.
Choose and press Personal Ringing.
Scroll through patterns using the line buttons to the right
and left or use the dial pad to cycle through all 8 rings.
Do one of the following:
— If you want to save a ring pattern, press Save.
— If you want to return to the Option Screen without
changing the pattern, press Cancel.
Press PHONE/EXIT to return to the Home Screen.
VOLUME
To adjust the volume of your phone in three different areas.
The speaker volume when the speaker is in use.
The handset receiver level while the call is in progress.
The ringer when the telephone is on-hook or when the
phone is ringing.
Press the bottom button to lower the volume and the top button
to raise the volume.
SPEAKERPHONE
To place or answer a call without lifting the handset — press
Speaker.
To switch to the handset — pick up the handset and continue
talking.
