Enhanced Child Restraint
For children 76cm - 105cm in height

Introduction
Welcome to the RyRy Scallop user manual.
Like all user manuals, it will not be the most
riveting read, but it is essential reading
none-the-less.
Take the time to read these instructions.
If the seat is not fitted securely or your little
one is not strapped in correctly, both they,
and potentially other passengers are at risk
of injury in the event of an accident.
If you prefer to watch rather then read, we
have also created some ‘how to videos’
available at ryrycompact.com/howtovide-
os
I hope you find the seat easy to use and I
wish you and your family many happy and
safe journeys.

Please do not use a forward-facing child seat on a passenger seat fitted with an active airbag, unless car
manufacturer stipulates otherwise. Death or serious injury can be caused by an activated AIRBAG system.
Please do not use the child seat on side facing or rearward-facing vehicle seats.
Please do not attempt to dismantle or add to any part of the child seat or change the way its harness or your car seat
belts are made or used.
Please do not allow children to play with or adjust the child seat.
Please do not leave your child seat in direct sunlight. Fittings can become hot to touch in sunny weather and the cover
may become faded.
Please do not place heavy objects on top of the seat and do not store it near direct heat sources or in direct sunlight.
EU/UK Safety Regulations
You will be glad to know that EU Safety Standards strictly specify the construction and performance of the RyRy Scallop

tion List. Installation may also be possible on other vehicles not included in the list. For information on the compatibility of
this child car seat with your vehicle, please contact either the manufacturer or the retailer.

CAREFULLY BEFORE USE AND KEEP FOR FUTUURE REFERENCE.
The Please Do Nots

Looking After Your RyRy Scallop
Regularly check all child restraints for wear and tear.
i) Maintenance of the 5-point harness buckle
A buckle failure can cause injuries. DO NOT lubricate or grease any part of the 5-point harness buckle of the
child car seat.
The malfunction of the harness buckle is usually caused by an accumulation of debris such as food crumbs or
other small particles.
Some signs of a malfunction include:
- The two tongues release very slowly when the red button is pressed.
- The two tongues do not engage in the buckle’s body and are ejected when you try to insert them in.
3
The Please Do Nots
Please do not leave loose objects, such as luggage or books, in the back of your car. They must be properly secured –
in the event of emergency braking, loose objects will keep moving and can then cause serious injuries. Large and
heavy loose objects are a particular risk.
Please do not leave folding passenger seats unlatched. If you must stop your car suddenly, a loose seat back could
injure your child.
Please do not position the seat such that any part can become trapped or damaged by the vehicle door.
Please do not leave a child in the Enhanced Child Restraint System unattended.
Please do not use the Enhanced Child Restraint System without the seat cover.
The Please Do
Please do keep this User Manual with the product permanently. The User Manual should be stored in the back-storage
compartment when not in use.
Please do replace the car seat when it has been subject to violent stresses in an accident.

Looking After Your RyRy Scallop
- The tongues are inserted into the buckle’s body, but without the ‘click’ sound signal.
- The two tongues are inserted with difficulty and the buckle’s body offers a certain resistance.
- The buckle needs a lot of force to open.
Normally, a rinse with warm running water is enough to solve the problem. If not, contact the seller or the
manufacturer immediately.
ii) Cleaning Your Seat Cover
The seat cover is 100% Merino Wool and should be treated like your best cashmere sweater!
The seat cover can be removed (a bit of a fiddle admittedly) and wiped clean with a damp cloth whenever possible.
However, we recognise there are times when a damp cloth just won’t wash, so a cold, gentle wool machine wash
should do it no harm.
Please don’t put the cover in a tumble dryer as it will SHRINK and the laminated padding may separate from the fabric.
Air-dry only.
There is a label on the rear of the cover for washing instructions.
Natural wool will pill so it's worth infrequently combing with the wool comb provided.
How to remove the car seat covers
1) Adjust the headrest in the highest position.
2) Remove the headrest cover.
3) Remove the remaining covers from the car seat.
WARNING! DO NOT USE THE CHILD CAR SEAT WITHOUT THE COVERS OR WITH COVERS OTHER THAN THE ORIGINAL. A
DIFFERENT COVER COULD REDUCE THE SAFETY LEVEL, IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.

35
How to install the car seat covers
1) Repeat the previous steps in reverse order.
2) Carefully insert the outer edge of the cover along its entire perimeter, ensuring all hooks and fastenings are
connected. (Please check the website for the How To video.)
WARNING! ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT THE COVERS AND HARNESS STRAPS OF THE CAR SEAT ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. IN
