Turn over the RAID case,
remove the four Phillips screws
on the boom, then turn the
RAID case right-side up.
Turn the hard drive over (label side down),
line up the screw holes on the HDD holder
with the screw holes on the drive (the end
opposite the connectors), then secure it
with two HDD screws. Repeat Steps 3 and 4
for the other HDD.

Installing hard drives into the RAID case

Li the cover off the RAID case,
exposing the drive connectors
inside the unit.

Remove the screw for one HDD
holder, then remove the holder
from the RAID case.

Carefully insert each HDD’s SATA
connectors into the SATA connec-
tor in the RAID case, then secure
each HDD’s holder to the RAID
case using the screw you removed
in Step 3.

Place the cover back on the RAID case, then turn it over and secure
it to the case using the four screws you removed in Step 1.

The RAID system should be connected to the host
computer by using only one interface cable. Using
mulple interface cables can lead to data corrupon.
Connect the USB, eSATA, or FireWire 800 cable to the appropriate
ports on the RAID system and the host computer.

Connect the AC power adapter to the RAID system.

If you connect the RAID system to your computer
with the FireWire 800 interface cable, you don’t
need to connect the power adapter.
NOTE
Turn on the RAID system by
pressing the power buon.

To turn off the RAID system, press and hold the
power buon for at least three seconds.

Insert the RAID Master CD into your computer’s CD/DVD
drive, then open the “2-Bay” folder.

Click Yes. RAID Master reformats the RAID system’s HDDs for the
RAID configuraon you specified. When the reconfiguraon is
complete, the RAID Status reflects the changes.

To check on the status of the RAID system device (not the HDDs
themselves), open RAID Master and click the Device Informaon
tab.

Double-click the driver file appropriate for your operang
system. The driver file decompresses.

Follow the on-screen instrucons to complete the
soware installaon. When the soware has finished
installing, the RAID Master screen opens.

Under the Configuraon tab, click the RAID mode you
want to use, then click Create RAID/Apply.

When the RAID system turns on, the power LED turns white, and the
HDD LEDs turn blue, flashing unl the HDDs are detected. If, for
some reason, an HDD is not detected, its LED turns red.
A message appears asking you to confirm the HDDs being erased.
RAID Master is provided with a CD that’s included in your packaging.
This soware provides an easy way for you to configure your RAID
system.

Support for more than 2 TB HDDs varies, depending on the
operang system of the host computer.
We recommend the Silicon Image eSATA host
controller for geng the best performance from the
eSATA interface with your RAID system.
While using FireWire 800, you can connect other
FireWire devices (such as digital video cameras) to
the extra FireWire port.
