Make

This unit has beenshippedin
a
low charge condition to prevent possible
probtems. Therefore, you should charge the internalbatteriespriorto your
initialuse.
Connect battery charger to Prolocator,then connect battery charger to
110Volt AC wall outlet. Only use approvedbatterycharger
(PartNumber PL6198600P16).
Batterycharger will indicateredwhen charging.
Batteriesare fully charged when indicator
is
green.
DisconnectAC 110Volt plugfrom wall outlet.

Disconnecibatterycharger from ProLocator.
PREPARING
THE

Pressthe hwerSwitch.
The power tight will illuminategreen.
After one minuteifthe fault lightdoes not illuminate, the ProLocatoris
readyfor use.
Ifthe FAULT LIGHTilluminatesand remainsilluminatedfor more than
hnro
minutesor no text is displayedon the LCD display, contact technical
assistanceat SAFE FireDetectionInc. (704) 821-7920.

Always holdthe ProLocatorinan upright position.
Bringthe ProLocator to the area you would liketo investigate.

Turnthe switch ON, the LCD display will show the SENSITIVITYLEVELat

when it initiallystarts.
Start walking towards one direction.
Listento the audible beepand watch the LEVEL LEDs increase while you
are walking.
When the LEVEL LEDs are risingto highest levels andthe audible beep
intermittently,continuewalking inthe same direction. If the LEVEL LEDs
are NOT risingand the audible is NOT beeping, walk in a different
direction.

Oncethe LEVEL LEOSreach the highlevelsand the audiblesoundis
constant, STOP and press the
red
SENSITIVITYADJUSTMENTbutton
once. This lowers the sensitivity setting by one level(example:from 10
to
9).
Pausefor one to two minutesand wait for the audible and LEVEL LEDsto
diminish.
Ifthe audible and LEDs do NOT diminish, pressthe redSENSITIVITY
ADJUSTMENT onceagain to decrease the setting to one levellower.

Repeat this processuntilthe LEVEL LED drops by atleastone LED.
Oncethe audible and LEDsdiminishat your new sensitivitysetting,
continuewalking inthe same direction adjustingthe sensitivity levelas you
hear the audible sound constant and LEVEL LEDsincrease. to the highest
levels.

Once you haveadjusted the SENSITIVITY LEVEL to
1
on the LCD
display, and the audiblesounds consantandthe LEVEL LEDs are at its
highest, you are standingwithin the vicinity sourceof your fire.

USINGTHE HANDHELDPROBE (optional)
Use the handheld wand to help you search in hardto reach places.
Turn the unit off and removethe sample pointfrom the sideofthe unit.
Insertprobeadapter into unit.

Use the same method (as describedabove) to searchfor the sourceof the
fire.

Note: Keep probeaway from machineryor equipment with movingparts.
